Looking into running a high fantasy rpg homebrew with pazio/pathfinder rules. Stats will be rolled ironman style( you get what you get and place them in order from top to bottom) the setting is set in a small continent in turmoil. A civil war had broken out with the assassination of king Varith III. With his death a plague had ridden the country side killing hundreds. A high order of nobels had lead a crusade on the kingdom, trying to cleanse the decay and corruption that had started with the death of the once glorious kingdom of River-Helm. Years have passed and the kingdom of River-Helm is now no more than a vacant host for a once great kingdom. Plagued by dangerious over growth taken by nature and an unsettling sense of dread fills those who get to close. The high order of nobels keep a watch group for the day of the plague to come once more. The order found the last kings lineage and named a new king. King Hierkus Vith. The outside country to the north of River-Helm beyond the mountains and mines of the dwarves lies the new kingdom is formed and given light for all mankind and wayward soul. Time has pasted that only stories are told about the rise and fall or River-Helm and the Vith line still rule's at mountains-End. The order is now passed off as a myth a story and maybe they were. But with time history repeats itself. The Elevs stay quiet as they have seen the plague kill off mankind before the age of dragons. The Dwarves fully aid the humans Half races are lucked down upon. More so half orcs among other things. Gnomes and halflings stick to small communties and sell trade goods. If you have any questions feel free to ask. On to the technical stuff I suppose. System: Pazio/Pathfinder. Books used for players: Core rule book and Advanced players guide.( for classes, races, skills and feats) People: I would like 4-5 players. When: That is still up in the air, Days I am most available are Thursdays and Fridays and every other Saturday. Time: still up to debate. Be aware this is a UTC -6/ CST timezone game. Character Creation: Ironman style(3d6) what you roll once for each stat and thats what you get. No rerolls no do overs. If you wish to roll stats get ahold of me and you can roll while I am present. Classes and races anything from the players core book and Advanced book. ( please no stories on how you need special feats and armor or what have you to fit a concept, if its not in the either of the books listed, rethink the concept) A bit about the atmosphere I which to convey. Please Role-play aside from Roll-play. Were making stories and heros for a world we make.
I'd certainly be interested in playing
I'm interested in joining a pathfinder game, am also in GMT -6, and would prefer Saturdays. Iron man stats are kind of... brutal, though.

Marc, that is the point, the brutal bit that is. Saturdays would be on an every other weekend type schedule. as opposed to Thursday or Friday which would be every week.
I would love to be part of a homebrew game, and personally am available on Fridays: 4pm-12am (PST) and every other Saturday for the same time frame... (My tabletop game goes every other Saturday, so if by chance your every other, is the opposite of my every other... then we're golden ^^) I love the idea of you get what you roll stats, I'm sure it can be brutal!.. especially if you don't re-roll 1s. I'm a fairly experienced player, with about 8 years of table top under my belt, and yeah... good concept for a game. /cheers. -Spazz
The idea is to bring a more old school twist on the game. Heros need more than monsters as obstacles to overcome. I may make a slight tweek to the rolling portion. When I can get the assorted played all in one place we can discuss day and time and we can get the rolling stats out of the way.
I would probably be interested for Thursday but the thing I am thinking is what about if the stat actually cripples the character. I mean like a character with a bad enough luck to get a could of 3s would die or be utterly useless some people may roll stats and then simply leave because of bad luck and getting a literally unusable character. I work nights right now but that is subject to change soon so if its not happening too soon then I will likely have my solid schedule.

This is ment to be a game that challenges the players on more than one level.( No im not looking to play a bully but hardships come in many forms and this is for a lack of better words a test run) I have a tweek in the works for anything rolled below a certain score.
Not to set people off but if you feel this is something you will not enjoy for the sake for argument id say look at the other pathfinder groups that spring up. I think im going to go with if you roll below a score of 9 that stat is 9.

so lets say this you roll 3 dice ( 2,6,4)=12 and that goes into your first characteristic. now lets say you roll (1,3,4)=8, thats turned into a 9 and put into your next stat.
I think this sounds interesting and i am not the most experienced person so i might need some help in the beginning but other than that i can play on Thursdays or Fridays.
I would be very interested in this but my schedule is rotating. And I may not have the same day off every week.
I would be interested in a Thurs. night game. CST here and available 7:00 PM till 11. As far as the ability rolls, I think it sounds like fun. For me it's not about the stats as much as the immersion.
do you want us to roll our ststs with you or not
and also what does everyone plan on becoming
Well I am interested if it is on Thursday as Fri. and Sat. are both off the table for me because of other games and such however seeing that the lowest you can have is a -1 to your stats that would just seem to show inexeriance and most legit gamers would still stick around even if they got unlucky enough to have a few of them I wouldn't mind playing with you. I asked basically because I tend to get tired of games postponing because of people leaving last minute and was worried that it would take longer to start than normally foreseeable because of the ironman thing if some people got really unlucky. I also can't say I would be supprised to see that type of bad luck as I in my first session on roll20 had 4 stats under 10.
You know i would be interested in joining this as well, Id be intrested in possibly rolling up a Half orc or a Human Not sure on class though, Although Maybe a Paladin or a Feral Druid.
Update Seems most people want Thursdays, Those wanting to play Thursdays please send me a private message and I will send a link to the campaign page. I will explain how the rolls will be made.
Gah this sucks so hardcore! My roommate and I were really looking for a pathfinder game to join, but rolling ironman style means you cannot choose your class before youve rolled your stats so theres a good chance youll get stuck playing a class you don't like.
Lance, you can choose race and class after the stats are rolled.
HI Joel, I would be interested in something like this as long as you are open to newer players. I have played some society play for pathfinder but i'm still fairly new. Time for me would also be CST so that works and Thursday's would be ideal but I can be flexible. Let me know I have been looking to get into a campaign for a while. I"ll shoot a PM also to see if any open spots.
