After an extended break our group is starting our old
campaign back up, but we need to fill a spot or two. Our games are Sunday
nights at 8pm eastern until somewhere around 11:30 or midnight. We try to play
weekly, but most of us have jobs and families, and we usually strive for 4 out
of every 5 weeks. Right now it looks like the game will start September 8 th ,
but I might try to do a session or two with just the new additions before that.
The campaign is story-driven, and there is a lot of roleplaying. The story is
at a point where a new player coming in will not feel out of place, and they
will not just be filling a spot. Each character’s individual backstory plays a
big role in the overall campaign. Min-maxers need not apply. Characters will
start at level 5. D&D 5 th edition. This is free and always will
be, as it should. To apply, please either PM me or reply here with the
following information about you and your character concept: 1) Basic player stuff- whatever you feel like telling about
you. What are you looking for from a game? What is your experience (none is
needed if you have a willingness to roleplay, have fun, and be part of a team.)
Where are you from, do you have family, what do you do for a job? None of those
really need to be answered for consideration, but if you feel like sharing, go
for it. **This is an LGBT friendly group. This is not and LGBT only
group. We don’t care, and we don’t hate. If any romantic relationships happen
in the game, it will be based solely around the preference of the character. We’re
here to play, not judge. Don’t have hate in your heart, people. ** 2) Basic character stuff- class, race, general alignment tendencies 3) Backstory- this is probably the most important thing. The
campaign integrates all of the characters backstories, so you need a good one.
There will be some ideas below, but really, if you have an amazing backstory
for a character you want to play, I’m sure there will be a way to integrate it.
There is enough undefined space in the world that you could make up a homeland,
and it would work. 4) Flaws- superhero characters are boring. Flawed heroes
overcoming their weaknesses make for great stories. If your character doesn’t
have flaws and quirks, he or she isn’t going to be very interesting. Your
character should have a defining/tragic flaw. Some basic background to help you with back stories: Eradonia used to be a large, multi-racial continent with
multiple cities, robust industries, large armies, and just about everything you
can imagine for grand fantasy kingdoms. Eradonia had been troubled by orcs to
the north for decades, but it was only in the last few years that the orcs had
become massively organized and invaded the kingdom. One by one the cities and
forts fell, and the final remains of any resistance were finally destroyed this
week. The great elven kingdoms of Eradonia also fell, with the last, and
perhaps greatest of all, Illya Alora, being one of the last bastions to fall to
the immeasurable orc horde. Refugees have been fleeing the continent for years, but
within the last few months and weeks it has been a steady stream of desperate
people looking for salvation. Most fled to wherever they could, but the grand
city-state of Tradewinds was a popular destination for many. For the elves,
some sought their own kind in the foreign forests of Ferrante Glade. Tradewinds is the largest city in the world, an absolutely
enormous place that serves as the center of commerce for the entire planet. The city is so large some people live their
whole lives never leaving, and even the most dedicated of cartographers have
long abandoned the foolish notion of mapping everything. The city is run by a
council of grandmasters who represent the various forces with interest in
keeping the city thriving, and those forces range from the city watch and
lawful temples to the seedy crime syndicates. The various forces somehow manage
to keep each other in check, with a balance held for the good of all. It is said if you want anything in the world, Tradewinds is
the place to look. If it’s not there for sale, then the information about it, the
muscle to take it, or the transportation, mundane, magical, or even
inter-planar, will be for sale. All
sorts of characters find themselves in Tradewinds for numerous reasons.
Ferrante Glade is a largest elven kingdom in the world,
especially with the fall of Illya Alora and the other Eradonia elven kingdoms.
The elves tend to keep to themselves, but they are tolerant of interactions
with the other races and kingdoms, and trade, while not vital to their
survival, enhances their quality of life. They are sympathetic to the elves
from Eradonia who have lost their homes, and while they have only rare
encounters with other elf kingdoms, they tend to be respectful, though there
are some they view with suspicion. There are stories and whispers of Brennan elves,
strange foreign elves. Some stories say they looked down on Ferrante Glade
elves, others say they come from another world, while some say they are
demon-touched and cursed.
