Hello everyone, I'm looking to join a D&D game on any day except friday or saturday as denoted above. My time availabillity is any game starting after 7pm and not ending later than 1am. Time above is UTC. There are a few things I'd like to clear up before anyone invites me to a game. I am looking for a game with a serious tone. This doesn't means people can't crack jokes, I just want the game tone to be serious rather than just a big long joke where no one really cares past doing stupid shit in game just cause. I want the DM to play by the rules and don't alter them whenever it feels convinient for his plot (similarly I want dice rolls visible) or to add drama. The rules tell the players what they can and cannot and one thing that doesn't sits well with me is doing something and then have a rule change completly screw everything I did previously or simply being told I can't do something that the rules clearly say I can. I may be ok with some rules changes, but only when told previously so I can decided on whether or not I agree with them. I also prefer of DMs that truly understand the difference between actions having consequences and just giving players a choice between 2 evils. When a player has to choose one of two evils, he's basically picking a penalty that often is arbitrarily put on him. That is not fun. Choices have consequences, but they must also have rewards. A player shouldn't simply chose something because it screws him less, he should pick something because his gains/losses align better that way. But there should always be a gain, a balancing factor to the loss. This last one is less of a requirement and more of a hope. Money is worthless in 5e, you can't buy magic items with it after all and magic items are supposed to be very rare. This means that often enough players simply don't get any interesting rewards from what they do because money is unimportant and magic items don't show up. I hope the DM understands that part of the D&D concept is that getting a new shiny tricket is fun. However he handles it I don't really care, but it would be nice to see this handled. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.
