5th edition is the latest version of Dungeons & Dragons. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_fantasy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low_fantasy I have a homebrew "low fantasy" low/rare magic "gritty realism" D&D 5e game that is beginner-friendly (The other player I have so far has played older versions, but not 5th edition) The story (Which I would like to run with a lot of narrative from players and myself as DM) revolves around a failing Magocracy that is politically unstable, beset by Warlocks, witches, and demonic influences via pacts, economic collapse, and bandits run amok. Scenarios will involve player background, motivations, personality, ideals, bonds, and flaws, as they impact the stories at hand. This game will start mid-September that will have 2 or 2.5-hour sessions starting around 7 -7:30 PM PDT (GMT-7), with a hard stop at (9:30 PDT). Nights played, we are trying to work out, but looks like Sunday, Monday or Tuesday for now. I am still setting up the game, and roll20 server.
