LFP (2)to fill out a D&D 5E group in The Kingdom of Keoland in the Greyhawk setting.Playing every other Tuesday Night at 10PM EST.

I am looking for 2 players to fill out a Greyhawk 5E group.  I am asking for mature players that will let me know if they can not make it to the game.  Many people set aside time to meet and play online.  Or as a DM set up the game.   If you are the kind of person that will just drop out of a game saying nothing to the group.  Do not bother reponding to this game. Do not waste other people's time.  We do not want to play with you.  With that being said, I am looking for 2 player characters to play adventures in the Yeomanry League of Greyhawk. 1st level characters. No evil please. For races, please choose from Human (or Human variant), Gnome, High elf, Half Elf or Dwarf. As for Classes Nothing from any other books other than the Core books or Xanathar's guide. Please talk to me about which subclasses are banned.  Basically nothing dragon blooded or having an evil bent to it. This is Heroic High fantasy.  Evil characters will not be considered. We play every two weeks at 10PM EST (GMT-5).  I do welcome backstories, and I invite you to work with me so that your back story fits the Kingdom of Keoland. (example: There may be no coast, so a mariner backstory would not be appropriate.) Your character will be from the Keoland born and raised, not from somewhere else.  I will happily entertain any questions. Just send a PM or DM or ask me here.   Jay
Jay I am an original DnD player and mostly played 1e but have done one game (the DM ended the game do to a job change). I would love to join a game and Tuesday night works very well in my schedule. I am in PDT time zone and this works great for me as I have no regular commitments on Tuesday PMs.  I like to play Rangers, Bards, or multiclass characters. I love both RP and some good old sleuthing and combat. If I would miss a game I will give advance notice (unless I get hit by a bus....). Looking forward to being added to your game (I still have my Grey Hawk box and books so I can use whatever rules you want via gods ect.)

im 33 and havent played since 2e really, never played in greyhawk, but id love to join you. I am a forever DM that has been running games for years, so i know about the problems with people being flaky.
Love the Yeomanry setting.  Sunday works great unless there is a family trip planned.  Been playing for 30+ years in different systems.  What is the general storyline to help with character creation.  Thanks!

What kind of play-style, regarding player activities, do you have in mind? Some storytellers are far more narrative than others, and there's a definite difference in the appreciation for intrigue, dungeon-delving, overland exploration, social engagement, mysteries, moral dilemmas, and so forth. As for me: I'm an older gamer, and back in the day, I played Living Greyhawk for some years in the 3rd edition era - in Veluna and Ket. So I've had a sideways view of the Yeomanry and Keoland, and would be interested in exploring it once more, and in greater depth. By and large, 5th edition has been a breath of fresh air, and the reduction of silly number-crunching means that people have started paying a lot more attention to backstories, in my experience. I tend to favour characters that have a lively interest in organisations that impact the fabric of society. It's quite common for me to play characters with an active faith as their driving force, and some of them are even divine casters. Regardless of that, my characters have a defined morality, and will likely take a stand for something significant (to them!) at some point. It's probably telling that only twice in my 30 years or so of gaming have I played an evil character, and in both cases, I was the only one convinced they were evil. The drawback of this is that I am generally not eager to kill, considering needless violence an anti-social aberration. This can, of course, clash with campaigns that feature lots of monster hunting or "enemy of the people" type scenarios. Having said that: I am sensible enough not to play outright pacifists, and the dedication that my characters tend to have also means that, once engaged, they can be quite devoted to seeing the matter through. If you feel that the above holds enough promise to get to know each other further, please let me know in a pm. I an comfortable with using Roll20, Discord or select other media to talk things over for as long as we have common ground and the promise of a story. Regards, Pat
Pa, thank you for the intelligent letter you sent me.  I do not get that at all. I mostlu get, "Sounds good, I want to play"  I feel like I am reading through resumes. Anyway, Play style.  As a GM I have always put the Players first.  The story will wrap itself around the party.  As soon as the players realize that they are the story and without them, there is no story. I do use adventures from the Living Greyhawk scenareos to inspire me.  I run adventures in Geoff, The Yeomanry, Keoland and Ket.  I hope to expand to Veluna one day. But this is enough for now.I believe there are three parts to D&D, 1) RP, 2) Exporation and 3) Combat.  I am a storyteller.  I love to describe the setting, the NPCs and the action.   I love Dramatic sequences in Movies and borrow from That as well as books. Something makes you want to turn the page.  Maybe to see what happens next. I like what you have said, Pat.  Perhaps I can help you find yourself a story.  I am on Discord at Lynx@7126.  Love to meet you there and talk to you more. Jay
Hello Jay, I am certainly interested. I am looking for a group to play with on tuesday evenings and this game seems right up my ally, I don't have a wealth of experience, but i am certainly not new. 34 years old and am in a 5e campaign on sundays right now. But tuesdays are the nights I really have time to play. So I at very least believe that I will be mature and reliable with the game. I hope there are still spots open, I would really like to join you on this campaign.
