DRAGONMECH is an old DnD 3.5 setting that I've updated and converted over to DnD 5e and need some players to join me on an adventure to save the world! What is DRACONMECH?  It's a fantasy world that has been ravaged and scoured of life after a celestial catastrophe caused the Moon to nearly shatter and has brought it into low orbit. Only the combined might of the gods themselves keeps it from crashing and destroying all living things.  The moon is not uninhabited however.....filled with alien monstrosities, demons and elementals foreign even to the infernal planes, and Gods who's morality is alien beyond anything that can be described by the Planar Alignments.   Each night meteorites and fragments of the moon rain down, sometimes in painful showers of pebbles, other times in fatal storms of house-sized boulders. Life only survived by retreating underground, but this was unsustainable, it seemed all hope was lost.  Until one day came a Dwarf with a blueprint book laid with pages of golden metal.  He called himself a " Cogslayer " and gifted unto the shattered remnants designs for the first Mechs. Armed with walking machines of steam-powered metal, clockwork constructs, enchanted wooden golems, titanic zombies, and even slave driven contraptions we walked upon the lands once more.  Unfortunately this only attracted the attention of the omnicidal lunar beasts, we needed something more.  We needed the City-Mechs.  The " Cogslayer " called for a two square mile clearing to be made, and called together all the Mech Riders and Engineers at his disposal, ordering them to defend the work site with their lives.  Months passed as work progressed but finally the first City Mech rumbled to life.  The height of a skyscraper, each of it's feet a quarter-mile square and utterly immune to the Lunar rains.  This was the birth of our great hope, the dawn of the Second Age of Walkers..... So what do you need to know to play? Well nothing. The setting is very straight forward and any little other quirks I can explain in-game or in the Discord.  But if you happen to own the actual Dragonmech books ( their available cheaply online.  And the 1d4Chan wiki also has all the info you could ever need. ) that's awesome. Doubly so if you also own The Grease Monkey's Handbook ( 3rd party book that I've used as a guide for converting the Dragonmech stuff. )  You do however need to be fairly familiar with the actual rules of DnD 5e, it will be a rough time for me to help out new players and also navigate the difficulties of converting an entire sweeping setting and all it's material over. What is allowed? Pretty much everything including most Unearthed Arcana.  Before you get too deep into dreaming up your character concepts know that I'll have lots of converted material available for everyone ( Copywright friendly even! ) with a huge gamut of Steampunk goodness!  Want to be a power armored juggernaut barbarian? A Ranger native to the vast engine rooms of the City-Mechs?  A AutomotonDruid? We've got lots of fun things to share!  Game will start at Level 3 with the standard Stat Array being used.  Be aware also that there are a bunch of nifty steampunk weapons available which your class may be proficient in. including such things as chainsaw swords and steam cannons.  Finally I'd prefer more good / neutral aligned characters, this is a story about saving the world afteral! Is the game LGBT Friendly? Sure! But my rule is don't try and make any sort of modern politics part of the morality of the setting. I'm very strict about this rule.  You might not have a problem with a backstory about how your character was thrown from their home due to their sexuality but it may deeply bother other members of the party for example so the easy way out is to just avoid that subject entirely.  Remember the Human, Respect Boundaries. The game is quite fast paced. This is not the sort of game where you make a post once a day and your good, If I'm awake and I'm not working then I'm usually answering posts so I'd like players with similar levels of  generally nothing better to do with their time  Commitment. The game is also very very Roleplay focused, I get really into character and describing the world you live in so this game is best suited for people who share that sentiment. If you've any questions or things you'd like to ask hit me up either here or at Zephyr#7437.  Also the majority of the PbP aspect of this game will be handled on a Discord server with Dice Bots. We'll have the Roll20 game for more sheet hosting and tactical maps when needed. Likewise Mechs can be a bit complicated to do with Discord so best to keep them on the roll20 app 4:43AM (5 hours ago) Edited  4:45AM (5 hours ago) Update: Some interested parties have been willing to run the game in it's original 3.5e incarnation. Feel free to let me know if you'd prefer that as well. I'm also open to converting over to Pathfinder 1e which would also be real easy and require basically no work.
