creating battlemaps from basic maps

As the topic suggests, how do I create a battlemap with squares equaling 5ft from uploaded maps?
Do the maps you're uploading already have a grid or do you need to make a grid?
already have one

If this is just about aligning the grid that already exists on the map with the grid in Roll20, have you tried the instructions on the wiki? https://wiki.roll20.net/Aligning_Maps
It's not about aligning the grids, I know how to do that. If I have a map that's 60 squares across and 50 squares down, how can I convert that into a workable battlemap that I can use icons on?

As long as you don't go crazy with dynamic lighting or the number of tokens, that should be a workable size, regardless of the warning that the page issues. Avoid the AFoW+Global Illumination combo.
Well if you have uploaded it, all you should have to do make sure its on the map layer and change your page size in the page settings to 60x50, make sure the unit size is set to 5ft and align the grids.
