The Hook? Welcome to Altra, an untamed continent part of the world of Abeir-Toril, usually called simply Toril. Altra is savage wilderness plagued with long-forgotten fallen empires, monstrous beasts, and undead, and wild dark magic long thought dead. You’re seasoned adventurers under contract to explore Altra, make trade routes, settle the land and bring order to Altra. Make your fortune, gain influence and power among the locals What is it for? This game is forever DM. I myself find it very hard to play in games as a player and have not had any luck finding something I want to play. This where this game comes in, New Frontier is a sandbox west marches style game. The map is covered in a permanent fog of war, where players explore locations that the GM comes up with until they make an outpost. The outpost set up the player’s settlement which they customize (Village, Military fort, research lab, etc) to whatever their liking. The GM controls the events/stories/quests that unfold as the settlement grows (Bandits, necromancers, dragon attacks etc) How does it work? Every player must DM in a rotating schedule that will be plan ahead of time. If for whatever reason a DM can’t run it a game, it will be passed on to whoever next on the schedule. Failure to DM any games in a full DMing cycle may result in dropping that player from the game. Each DM will have their own settlement to manage, this lets you be as independent as you want from other DM’s settlements, so their ongoing storylines won’t interfere with whatever you have going on. That being said it doesn’t mean you cannot work with others DM to have player’s actions from other settlements affect your own. That said settlement doesn’t mean your party done exploring Altra. If you want it to be it can just a player hub to which to buy, sell and store things. Players are allowed to use the same characters each time they play or make new ones. New characters can only be made in a new settlement unless your previous has died. This is to keep someone from having an army of just their characters in one settlement. That said you can only ever RP one character at a time. As for character creation rules and etc, the game is a democracy so each player gets a vote on anything basic on the game. So homebrew, variant rules and if need be dropping a player will be voted on. For example, I personally would like to play a 5e gestalt. :) This game will be for experienced GM in both the game and roll20 who are looking for a break. We can each learn from each other and improve our skills while getting a chance to play.
