How to easily handle summons

Hello all, Is there a way to easily handle summons? Is there an API for it? Is there a way to give players control of the summoned monster token from the MM without giving that player control of all of that monster's tokens? I appreciate the help.

One way to handle this is to drag out the monsters/animals needed for summoning and put the sheets in their own folder(s) in the journal.  Rename them all to have (summon) after the creature name, so that it will be a different entity than any others that are dragged out from the bestiary.  Then set up the token and player permissions however you want/need for your game.  Then the player that is summoning will have access to the sheet and token, and can drag out the creature they are summoning, place it, roll attacks for it, etc.
