Black pages

I have an issue(s) with the Fall of Plaguestone module. Both DM (me) and Players can see the Start page. I can see the Tokens page. I Can see the Roadside Ambush page, but the player gets a black screen. All other pages are black for both myself and players. Any thoughts/fixes? Ben

Things to check: 1) Tokens represent player characters. (Don't assume. Double check that the token on the page represents a character that is controlled by a player) 2) Tokens have sight toggled on. 3) There is a light source. If a token has darkvision, it may be emitting its own light that only it can see. If it is an external light source, make sure that "Others can see Light" is checked. 4) See if (regular) Fog of War is turned on. Default for FoW is to have the entire map obscured. You may need to use the reveal tool to show particular areas.
Fog of War is off, dynamic lighting should not affect the DM. I don't think dynamic lighting is the problem, if it is, it is broken. I used Ctrl-L with a token selected on the Roadside Ambush page, so that I could see what the player is supposed to see, and it is not an all black screen. Ben
Dynamic lighting does affect the DM. There is a slider on the page settings where you can adjust how dark or opaque the effect for the DM is. That said, I don't have your specific module so can't help any further.
Thanks for the help! For some reason I can see now as DM. With Dynamic Lighting on, player can't see anything. I gave player 100' of light and "Has SIght", this has no effect. With dynamic lighting off, player can see the map fine. I also tried Advanced FoW, this works, but player map is a dark gray, instead of the real colors. Any more thoughts? Ben

I didn't see if you verified the representations and permissions from step 1.
I think my problem may lie in this area. I'll try to give details... I created a separate Roll20 account,s o that I can see how things look from a  player perspective. This has a user name of Drago. I created a character named DM Test (using my DM account - Ben S). I assigned DM Test to user Drago. I used the Sajan Avatar and Sajan token (from the Token page) for the character. Under Edit Token - Advanced Tab, it says: See: All Players can view     Edit: Controlling players can view and change     Basic Tab says Controlled By (Determined by Character Settings) Under Edit DM Test it says: Can Be Edited & Controlled By: Drago I have both the DM (Ben S) view on the Hallod's Hideout page and the Players flag on this page. As Ben S I dragged the DM Test from the Journal tab to the map. I just turned off advanced FoW. Dynamic Lighting is also off. From the Drago account (which I am running on a different PC) I still see the gray FoW map, and do not see the token on the map. Just tried dragging the character sheet to the map from the Drago account, this worked, but I cannot control/edit the token from that account. Now I edited the token to give control to the Drago account, this seems to have worked irt controlling the token from the Drago account. I reloaded page on the Drago account, but it is still showing the grayed out FoW view. I feel I am making some progress, but also getting confused. Logged out of both accounts and logged back in. Checked page settings and Adv FoW was still on, guess my change did not stick earlier. Turned it off again and Ben S account looks OK. Now my internet is down... Sigh ... will try more later.

It's difficult to tell without getting my hands on things, but it sounds like you might have edited the token to represent the character, possibly assigned it as the default token for that character, edited the sight settings and then dragged out the token. Token changes do not update the default token. Assigning the default token must be the last step. It's akin to saving your work. If you drag out a new token without all of the changes in place, it will not be correctly set up. That's why I asked for the double check. 9 times out of 10, the symptoms you describe relate directly to this out-of-order procedure. If I am wrong, and the token you are testing with is correctly set up, then the problem must lie elsewhere. My guess it is still procedural somewhere, since there are not multiple reports of this issue at the moment. If you want to invite me to your game (in a PM) and then promote me to GM, I'd be happy to take a look around this evening. I understand if you'd rather not, though.
Sorry just got this message as I just got home from work. Sent link via private message. Happy to have you poke around. I'm sure you are right that I am doing something wrong, I'm new, if you couldn't tell. I really appreciate all the help. Ben
