The Game Dungeon World follows a team of adventurers as they explore a fantasy world, and the straightforward rules make it easy to pick up and play. You'll create one of those adventurers and portray everything they say and do as though they were real, living people. I'll describe what happens around you as a result, and you'll tell me how you react to the dangers and complications that arise, whether that means rampaging monsters, vengeful nobles, or magical earthquakes. The Campaign Sessions run for three hours apiece (with one ten-minute break halfway through) once per week. I expect the campaign for run for roughly three more sessions, but we'll feel it out as we go. The Time Thursdays 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. PDT, though I'll make an effort to show up a bit early and leave a bit late in case you want to ask questions or talk about something. Our next session will be this Thursday, September 26th. Because we have already played two sessions, I will meet with you at 6:30 p.m. PDT the day of your first session to catch you up on the world so far and to help you create a character that fits within it. The Players I'd like to run the game for 3-4 players total. No previous gaming knowledge is required, and I'm happy to teach you how to play. We'll use Roll20's voice chat to communicate in English, and I'll record our sessions just as a way to refresh my memory while working on fronts (I have a terrible memory, aha). Please try to keep background noise to a minimum and mute yourself if you need to eat, sneeze, cough, etc. The Rules We're going to stick to the core rulebook, without any third-party classes or races. That means the races we'll use are Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, Human, and Salamander, and the classes we'll use are Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Immolator, Paladin, Ranger, Thief, and Wizard. That said, the core classes have a lot of flexibility, and I can work with you to customize your character. Want your Bard to weave magic into murals they create in the air using enchanted paints? Want to reskin the Wizard into a Freeze Mage? Want to play as a Ratkin using a Halfling starting move? We can make it happen. If you don't own the rulebook yet but want to come to your first session with an idea of what to do, you can find the complete rules at the Dungeon World Gazetteer . Of course, if you like what you see, I strongly encourage you to buy the book to support its creators! Finally, if you have some time to spare, you may enjoy watching An Evening with Dungeon World , GM'd by DW's co-designer, Adam Koebel. The Setting This being Dungeon World, I left the setting vague so the players can help me build the world we're playing in. If I ask you for input about said world and you're completely stumped, don't panic! You can always ask whether another player has an idea, or I can help you come up with something. I want to give you a chance to contribute, not call you out in front of the class for not doing your homework. I do prefer a somewhat serious tone, by the way. Not grimdark by any means--there's plenty of room for whimsy and comic relief. I just don't enjoy jokey names or in-character pop culture references. Questions? Ask them here or shoot me a PM. Want to join? Head over to the game listing , and we'll play to find out what happens! -O'Neill
