LFP D&D 5E Homebrew Setting *Experienced DM* Sunday Mornings

I will be DM for this campaign A city on the brink of a technological revolution teeters upon total collapse. An ancient dragon lies dormant for two decades now longer than ever before. Rumors of a gargantuan sea serpent give rise to a cult following. Today marks the thirtieth anniversary of the Beloved King Alfred's rule of Tyen. The monument displaying the medallions of Tyen, Rieten, Dunbar, and Vienly show homage to King Alfred's work. In his time he united the four major Kingdoms of the North for over twenty years of peace, trade, and prosperity. The Beloved Alfred is a master tactician, negotiator, and warrior. A truly brave and honest King loved by his people and the leaders of Pletios. Unfortunately, Alfred the Beloved is sick and the cities clerics have done all they can for him. In his months of absence his one and only son Prince Pernicus has taken on the duties of the City with the help of the Council consisting of the ruling families of Tyen. Prince Pernicus lacks experience in every way for this position. He never took an interest in his fathers work and spent most of his time in his wing of the Castle, filled with seemingly endless books, teachers, and apparently a workshop that constantly billows smoke out of a tower in his wing of the Castle. Evidence of his lack of exposure to the outdoors shows on his pale almost translucent skin. He has his fathers alluring saphire eyes complimented by black shoulder length hair. Pernicus has yet to speak publicly and instead Duke Aldo Hubert, King Alfred's right hand man, has been the public face of the council. Hello, I am seeking 4 role players looking to embark on an epic weekly campaign. I plan on this campaign continuing far into the future. The campaign will be set in my own custom world. I have built a simple skeleton and backbone to the world but I am leaving plenty of room for the continents to be fleshed out with the help of the party. Your actions and backstories will contribute to the lore of the world. This campaign will feature heavy role play scenarios filled with tough decisions that will help shape the future for those involved. I plan on a balance of physical encounters, politics, and puzzles to keep the game interesting and fun. Your emotional investment into your characters and NPCs within the world will be rewarded with an exciting game that keeps you on the edge of your seat looking forward to games each week. I have been playing D&D for over 10 years now usually dming and have always wanted to create my own world. Finally I am putting the effort required into world building and I am so excited to watch the storyline unfold! Voice chat and discord required In roll20 character sheet required Please post a little about yourself and what you're looking for in a D&D campaign. A few details of a character you'd like to play. Please keep it open ended so we can work together to have your character fit into the lore of the world.

Howdy, my name is Sean and been looking to play in a group for once. I have mostly played the role of DM, but have been interested in playing a campaign myself. I am an early bird so this would work well for my timetables. I am also a digitial artist, and can do doodles or character art for folks.

well then, if this game ran for 4 hours exactly I would be able to join, mind you I would have to leave on the dot at the end of the game A little about myself My name is Louth (pronounced like Mouth, not like Louis, many get that confused) I am a veteran of tabletop games playing myself for about 11 years and GMing for 8, I currently run a fair few games and play a couple but I have had a fair interest in joining some more games finally getting to leave the GM seat. I'm talkative but I will step aside when it is another's time to shine with zero issue, I am willing and able to help newer players find their place in a party and to learn the mechanical aspects. As far as character ideas go, well I'm very flexible and can make a character to fit any party, I'll even take that 1 healer role so many people are so hesitant to take. I have thousands of ideas for characters in a vault that spans back years or I can create something completely new. As long as I know the world I'm placing my character in the backstories are left vague enough that they can be applied anywhere with some simple plug and play to tie/ingrain them into the world as living citizens of its history. only thing I would have to ask, is a male player playing a female character allowed or is it seen as too strange/creepy, I have been disallowed from doing so in the past so I would rather have a fair idea before committing to a character concept.
Never playing a morning D&D game, but it seems like a great way to fit in some more gaming if the sessions don't go longer than 5ish hours per week. About me: 30+ years experience gaming. D&D, GURPS, Shadowrun, Star Wars, mostly. I can play all different styles (except casual... I'm an active player). I've DM'd a lot, so I'm looking for a game I can play. Like a lot of experienced players, I can play any combination and have hundreds of characters in my Hard-drive of Holding. I like doing a voice, but not over-doing it. I like drama, but I dislike melodrama. I prefer games that are a little on the gritty/realistic side, but have lots of experience with everything-is-magic, too. Some character ideas: - Goblin Ranger troublemaker, speaks of herself in the third person and likes to steal stuff and maybe eat your horse.  - Aasimar something who doesn't know how he got here. - Female H-elven Hexblade Bowlock, nature defender - Half John Constantine / Half John Wick demonslayer. Basically Keanu Reeves. It's Keanu Reeves as a demon-slayer. - Tabaxi shadow monk manhunter, who is just like every other annoying black cat Lots more where that came from. Back stories would be interesting, contain drama and possible NPCs, and would fit into whatever lore you've got.
I'd be absolutely interested in joining your game if you don't mind. I'm free Sat with discord although I would prefer using dnd beyond for character sheets.
Hey, I'm Zach, age 25.  I've been playing 5e for about 4 years, and some AD&D before that.  Your setting sounds really interesting and I'd love the chance to develop a character in it.  I usually like a good mix of combat and roleplay in games and it seems like you'd give a good opportunity for both.  I'm pretty flexible on character design, depending on the rest of the party and the setting, but given your summary I thought I might play a character that serves as a holdout of the old ways and sees the upcoming technological revolution as a corruption of traditional values.  Maybe a Kensei Monk, College of Swords Bard, Hexblade Warlock, or a multiclass between two of those if you allow multiclassing.  This character would be someone who had been trained in the way of sword and/or spell in isolation by their master or patron and is trying to cling to these teachings in the face of the new technologies they are introduced to as they explore the wider world.
Name: Neil Age: 21 Experience with D&D: I've been playing for around a year now, and I love every second of it! About Me: Even though I've only been playing for a year, I'm honestly so glad that I've found D&D, as it has become one of my favorite past times. I really enjoy the roleplay aspect of D&D, and getting into character and explore the world through their eyes. I'm also really fascinated by other player's characters and I love interactions between the party. I think a lot of the times people are only focused on developing their own characters (which is natural since it is your character), but if everyone just stays in their own little corner RP'ing, it's no fun for anyone, so I'd like for us to be cohesive and supportive of each other's development and RP! Combat and exploration are also fun and needed in my opinion, especially when RP can help flesh the two of those out. As a note, I am gay, so if this game isn't LGBT+ friendly then I would prefer to not join. I shouldn't have to say that but there are some people on here who think like that of course, just covering my bases.  Characters: I never like to come into a game with a pre-set character, so I'm very flexible when it comes to making up characters! That being said, here are a few that I've thought about wanting to play for a bit.      - A cleric of some sort, I've always really liked clerics but never gotten around to play one, so that could be cool!     - Neutral Good Necromancer Wizard. I know the stigma, but I'm not one of those necromancer players who is just a murder hobo in disguise, I honestly think I can bring good rp  and an interesting story with this char! And she's fun to rp as well, so yeah!     - Hyperactive Cheetah-esque Tabaxi monk.      - Kenku Druid named KooKoo. Tough to RP but definitely worth it What I'm looking for in a campaign: From your brief synopsis, your world sounds really interesting and fun to play in! Definitely looking for a long term campaign with an expansive world where the party is free to roam and do whatever they want (and consequences of course!). In terms of tone, a good dose of seriousness but also good-hearted fun! I'm not a big fan of railroaded campaigns, it's a style of play I know but it's just not for me. Also a gaming environment where we are all respectful and understanding of each other as people and not just characters, so we can all have a good time! Thank you for your time and consideration, have a good day!
Hi, I'm Andrew. I've been playing rpg's since the beginning of the hobby's existence and actually role played for most of the time I've been playing. I've played with all sorts of people and groups over that time so I've experienced most all that there is to experience in regards to personalities and playstyles thus I can adapt easily to group dynamics and styles. As for character concept, I prefer playing paladins and have an idea or two how to integrate, if there is interest, a military/holy order into the campaign. If its possible to start a bit later, that'd be welcome. Thanks for your consideration.
Hey, I'm John. I've played a lot of D&D but this would be my first time playing online - all of my friends have kids now so they don't have time to play anymore. I'm easy-going and I make all of my decisions based off of what I think my character would do - even if it isn't the "best" decision, it's important to me to be true to the character rather than seek a certain outcome. I'm looking for a group of fun people with whom to play weekly. I don't generally write long biographies for my characters, as I prefer to let the story they live shape the way they ultimately become to a large extent. I'd like to play a Wizard named Peter who grew up in a monastery that was destroyed - upon escaping he has set out to seek his fortune as a traveling scholar.
Hey, the name is Flo and I'm 28 years old. In the past I've been playing D&D 5e in a homebrew setting with some colleagues for about a year, before we had to disband due to changes in all our lives. Since then I've tried to play in the adventurers league, however I never managed to get totally into it. I just misse the chance to proper roleplay. I have a couple ideas in mind. Just a short briefing of two already existing character ideas I really would love to play: Forge Cleric, Dwarf, Neutral good  - a cast out blacksmith who travels the lands while selling his skills to whomever is in need (as Adventurer, Blacksmith,... ) Storm Sorcerer, Tiefling, Chaotic neutral   - in his young past sold as a slave, a bit of a joker, charlatan background There is a full background story for both, but to post them would be too long. However, I am open to change according to the lore or even to create something new (story as well as character/class). A am looking for a long running campaign with a high amount of role play and the chance to explore the world instead of being guided from one fight into another. It is thrilling to see how the world is changing according to our own actions (to the better and worse) with a fair chance to bring our own characters to life by interactions between players and NPC's.  Thanks for reading and I hope you will consider my application.
Name or Nickname  Matt or Panda Age:24   Character Concept:  Rouge/Mastermind Archfey warlock Name  Jackal (Real name) Jal'dai Silverrock Age 26 Half Orc Backstory:  Belonging to a family of Archeologist, who lost his family to a tragic fire, that was revealed later on, from an old journal from his grandfather, that suggested foul play, and they were after an ancient relic, being taught by his grandfather in the ways of how to traverse, dungeon, ancient tombs, with also learning the art of self-defense, finding his grandfathers ancient tome, it was the location of a ancient temple, blessed with a celestial being inside of it, that long ago said to have protected his town, forgotten over time, which when he was at his lowest, he traversed through this place, just to find a little bit of help and pay his respect, and without thinking gave her a small prayer, and asked if she would come down to  help him through his lowest point, it turned out his voice reached, toward the Archfey woman that, simply referred to herself as Velvet. Giving him a warm embrace, letting him know why things were at the lowest he has ever been, she would be there to give him warmth & to be supported, she would only ask if he did the same for her, he simply nodded and accepted being blessed with some new powers, although in return she did ask for some mischievous activities, toward the world, a couple of pranks hear and there, but most importantly to explore the world, waning to experience the whole world for what it truly is . Vallimar takes up his arms and his remaining, last items, departing to maybe start anew, and also, to find some of the answers he seeks. Primary motivation:  The retrieval of his family prised possession, rebuilding his old manor &  making sure the maid that survived is able to get back on her own two feet serving someone else or finding another job, and perhaps for someone he can find he can put his trust into, and perhaps look for a bond maybe could be something companionship.  What do you like out of a good story? What is your favorite Genre of stories? What I really love most of all, is in a story for a group of people  getting to bond, who happens to meet each other through different pasts & reasons, that brought them together, and also having some adventurers,  some nail-biting encounters some times, laughs sadness, tears, I really like that sort of game, I have a real taste with, Action-Adventure, Fantasy, Slight bit of humor, but social interactions I feel  from Npc & PC Also make a campaign and everything that makes everything great! Anything you wish for me to know about you:  I have been playing dnd,  for over nearly 2 years now, I have multiple experiences, with a few games and different classes, and I also been a fan of watching dnd,  and I been wanting to sink my teeth into my and I am very much into diving myself into the RP, of a whole new world, and our companions, and if I get picked I hope I can bring someone towards the game and hope everyone can get along and be great companions and friends  enjoying themselves.    If you wish to discuss or invite me into your game or discuss some things, about this please don't hesitate to reply or  DM me and we can discuss over Discord Pandazwei#9999
My name is Gilder, I'm currently 21 years old. I started to watch D&D and eventually decided to run my own campaign. I've been DMing for nearly 2 years now and have been playing for a shorter time than that. I like a healthy balance between RP and combat. I hold a bit of preference for the latter, though good RP is always something I enjoy participating in!   I'm hoping to join a nice campaign and make some new friends with similar interests. I want to have everyone get along and enjoy a great D&D campaign. RP is always fun with new people, though if others aren't comfortable with it that it's alright with me. Backstory integration is always welcome in my book! I love to be invested in a story and doing that only helps! I'm thinking of playing a Lawful Neutral, Tiefling, Oath of Conquest Paladin from XGTE- He's the son of a human noble and he was born into a family of humans. Because of this father was forced to hide his 'devilish' traits from a young age, shaping him to be the man he is today. He learned to hate those who think of him as different because of his heritage. As he grew older he became more brash and headstrong. Because of the way people treated him in his past, he now only seeks admiration from his Goddess and a few others. But I hope with the help of the party he will discover otherwise. Due to his rebellious behavior, he was eventually sent out by his father to make a name for himself. He left his home, his family, and even a few others he cares about. There's more to the backstory but it'll be a little long to post here. I'd be happy to send it to you if requested and make changes as well of course! His primary motivation is to of course serve his Goddess, but also eventually head back home with his experiences and have a family of his own.  If you wish to discuss things more feel free to DM me over Discord: SUPEERCHAPIN#4100

I'm not going to bombard you will a wall of text. I have been playing D&D for quite a few years now. Have always enjoyed the friendship and the memories the game builds. I'm not obnoxious and I like the game most when everyone gets a turn in the spotlight. I'm a pretty chill guy and am pretty relaxed with whatever unfolds campaign wise as long as I'm with a good group of guys and gals. I'm an Aussie but that won't be a problem as I work evenings and can fit in with most time zones. As for character ideas I usually like to discuss that with the DM so I can fit into the world you have built but if I had to choose one it would probably be Basil the Loxodon, a bardic/cavalier who is an escaped carnival performer who rides a defanged and declawed circus tiger into battle OR Garbage the sewer lizard who spent his time collecting things people have neglected and thrown away before being driven out of the sewer by the city guards.
