NPC Notes (for Dobbin's Hollow)

  PATTERSON FARM Name Height/ Weight Hair/ Eyes Age Description Items Worn Theodore Patterson 6’ 0” 180# Red Light Blue 18 Theodore is a plain looking young man, but he seems to have a sharp wit, and a good disposition that keeps several of the young women flirting with him.  Most of the townsfolk call him ‘Teddy’, and he doesn’t seem to mind the name very much, except when his sister makes fun of him because of it.  Teddy’s greatest dream is to be part of The Misfits, but his sister tells him he doesn’t have the stomach to join her group.  Teddy is determined to become the greatest mage in town to show her just how wrong she is. Teddy tends to wear a plain white pair of pants and brown sandals most of the time.  Often he wears a light blue belt, and has a dagger strapped to his side. Martha Patterson 5’ 7” 135# Red Green 40 Martha is one of the sweetest women in  town, but she’s also one of the homeliest.  Martha isn’t very pretty, but she has an easy way with children, and most of the town’s kids show up at her doorstep at least once a weak to beg her to tell them stories.  Martha is one of the few women who can read and write, and she even seems to have a small talent for magic- which she mainly uses whenever she’s telling stories to the children.  Martha loves to cook, and can be found in the kitchen on the occasions when Frank stays home from the fields, or Teddy or Scarlet takes Joey for a short swim. Martha is primarily concerned with the raising of Joey, and making sure that he has a good life, so she seldom has much time or concern for clothing.  She likes the way her husband picks out all the bright colors for himself, and she lets him pick out hers as well.  Consequently, Martha tends to wear really bright reds, yellows, oranges, and purples a lot of time.  A lot of her time is spent inside the house either telling stories for the children or else cooking for her family, and treats for the children, so she tends not to wear a top very much unless she specifically has to go out into town where outlanders may notice her. Scarlet Patterson 5’ 5” 120# Red Green 23 Scarlet is a strong faced woman, with a thin, firm body and a wiry smile. She never seems to have any time or patience for the children, and most of them stay away from her.  Scarlet leads a small group of town bullies, which they simply call ‘The Misfits.’  The Misfits are seen by most townspeople as simply a group of young men and women who are just having the usual rebellions teenagers often have. Scarlet wears a deep red suit of soft leather armor that she refuses to tell anyone where she got it from, and she carries a long sword which she keeps strapped on her back.  The sword is deep red, and even seems to glow a fiery color at night.  She wears a solid black belt with two deep purple pouches sewed on the left and the right side, which she keeps strapped closed at all times.  Joey Patterson 3’ 6” 75# Black Swirling 15 Joey is one of the most pitied children in town.  He suffers from a strange growing disease that the priest is unable to correct with his magic, and has a hard time connecting to reality.  Joey tends to be very easy to confuse, and has a hard time understanding even simple tasks and commands, such as lacing his own sandals.  Joey also tends to lose command of his own bodily functions from time to time and even suffers from mild seizures which causes him to lose track of time and remain tired.  Joey tends to wear a pair of thick shorts most of the time, because of the problem he has with losing control of his bladder.  Whenever he is let out of his home to go swimming with Scarlet or Teddy (most often Teddy), he wears a thick wooden helmet which has engravings of bears, trees, and flowers on it.  Joey also has a favorite pair of purple sandals which he wears, which his sister got for him as a birthday present.  It’s the only gift she’s ever given him. Frank  Patterson 6’ 4” 240# Black Brown 38 Frank is one of the largest men in town, but he is also known as one of the slowest.  Frank seems to have a small problem with understanding most things, but the towners accept him as he is.  Outlanders that have traveled to Dobbins Hollow more than once have learned not to call him stupid as it is one of the few things that really seems to tick him off and get him into a fighting mood.  Frank cannot hold his alcohol at all, and tends to get aggressive and combative whenever he drinks, so his wife refuses to allow alcohol into the home, and the innkeeper will not sell any alcohol to him whatsoever. Frank has absolutely no sense of clothing coordination at all, and he seems to be completely immune to the effects of the heat.  Consequently, he tends to wear a full set of clothes, and they never seem to match each other at all.  He may wear a pair of purple pants, a green shirt, one blue shoe, and a yellow sandal.  Most of the townsfolk seem to accept his strange dress as the usual, and many even smile and compliment him on his choice of clothing.  In fact, once a year, on the first day of Spring, the whole town throws a ‘Festival of Colors’, and a lot of people donate really bright clothing to Frank so he’ll have a good choice of what to wear for the upcoming year.

MAYOR HARENTON’S HOUSE Name Height/ Weight Hair/ Eyes Age Description Items Worn Todd Harenton 3’ 6” 70# Red Blue 6 Todd is a shy young child that desperately wants his half brothers to love him.  Ralph seems to accept Todd as his brother, and has even gone so far as to buy him a few toys and clothes to show him that he does care about him, but Eric keeps telling Todd that he’s not their brother, and not truly a Harenton.  Eric even tells Todd that he’s not truly a Dobbins Hollower, that he’s an outlander and Todd believes it.  Todd considers himself to be an outsider because of Eric, and he often acts like one – staying alone, and not playing with the other children his age. Todd is like most of the town’s children, and seldom seems to worry about the hassles of clothing unless an Outlander is around.  Whenever an Outlander comes to Dobbins Hollow, Todd is usually dressed in a plain pair of brown or green shorts. Eric Harenton 5’ 4” 130# Blond Green 16 Eric is a short young man with a quick temper.  He curses often, and seems unable to say a single sentence without using the word ‘Bloody.’  Ex: “Bloody damn right! I’ll kill you, you bloody bastard! You bloody well know I will!”   Eric seems to particularly hate his older brother Ralph, but he knows better than to fight with him.  Everyone in town knows Eric is simply a small man with a loud mouth, but when it comes to actually doing something, he’s all talk.  Eric has joined with Scarlet and is one of her small group of Misfits, but even she seems to dislike his loud mouth and boorish  ways. Eric dresses in solid black nearly all  the time.  He wears a suit of black leather armor, black leather boots, black leather gloves, and even has a black hat that he keeps pulled down over his eyes.  Eric has several silver daggers hung around  his waist, and can often be seen using one of them to clean his nails with.  If anyone ever catches Eric at the river, bathing or swimming, they will notice that he keeps a solid silver skill the size of a baby’s hand around his neck at all times.  If questioned about where he got it, or how he paid for it, Eric will refuse to tell. Laura Harenton 2’ 2” 52# Black Brown 3 Laura is a frail, sickly young child, who never seems to be in perfect health.  She gets hurt easily, and because of that, she is often pampered by her family.  Even Eric seems to walk easily around Laura, as if even he can tell that she’s a fragile eggshell, just waiting to break.  Laura lays around the house a lot, and is terribly shy around strangers.  She never has anything to do with children outside her family, as their parents don’t want her to give them whatever sickness she is currently carrying. Laura is a pale-faced girl, and never seems to have much get up and go.  Because of her lack of energy, Laura seldom dresses at all, and almost never leaves the house.  If Outlanders come to visit her father, she’s quickly and quietly shooed into a room where the visitor isn’t allowed to go. Ralph Harenton 6’ 2” 200# Brown Green 17 Ralph is a stout young man, and he takes a lot after his father.  Nothing ever seems to upset Ralph, and he always grins a big silly grin at everyone he meets – with an extra big grin for all the women he meets.  Ralph works in the gold mines every day, and most people say he’s one of the best workers in the mines.  He hates the fact that his snot-nosed little brother is such a pain in the ass, and he believes that him and the whole group of The Misfits are nothing but trouble.  Ralph has had gold stolen that he’s brought out of the mines before, and even though he cannot prove that Eric stole it, he believes it in his heart. Ralph tends to work in the mines every day, so he’s often seen with old clothes on.  Some of the townsfolk even kid Ralph that even when he buys a new suit, that its an old one.  His clothes are stained with the dirt and grime of the mine, and his face is often just as black.  The clothes he wears are a full suit, to help protect from any minor damage that the chips of flying rocks might do while he’s mining them. Susan Harenton 5’ 7” 165# Red Blue 32 Susan is the cause of a lot of trouble in the Harenton house.  She was once a traveling wench, but the merchant she traveled with said she was too big of a pain in the ass and left her in Dobbins Hollow.  Stranded, months from home, and all alone, Susan thought that she was going to starve and die.  Adam and his wife Eve took pity on her and let her come and work in their home as a maid, where they both feel in love with her kind ways.  When Eve died of cancer 8 years ago, Adam married Susan the next week.  His sons haven’t forgiven him yet.  Todd and Laura are Susan’s children, and Ralph and Eric are Eve’s. Susan was a traveling wench when she came into Dobbins Hollow, and Adam didn’t trust her at all when he first hired her.  Consequently, he told her that he’d give her a job as his maid, IF she’d agree to give up her clothes.  He wanted to make sure that she couldn’t steal anything, and she agreed to the promise.  That was 10 years ago, and Adam has told her time and time again that she can wear clothes now if she wants to, that he now trusts her, but all she’ll say is that “Even if I am just a wench at heart, I’m always going to be a true one.  I’ll never break my word.”  Susan hasn’t worn a stitch of clothing for the last 10 years. Adam Harenton 6’ 1” 221# Brown Green 56 Adam was once one of the most striking men in Dobbins Hollow, but age is beginning to catch up to him now.  Adam’s hair is turning white, and his face is now beginning to sag from time to time with worry over Laura.  Laura is Adam’s pride and joy, and he is deathly afraid that he is going to lose her to whatever the sickness is that she can’t seem to get over.  Adam is highly regarded by all the townsfolk, and most people treat him as if he is all ready one of the town elders.  In fact, the elders DO allow Adam to be present at any and all meetings which they hold. Adam is one of the finest dressed men in Dobbins Hollow.  He wears a suit of brilliant white leather armor, and carries a longsword at his side.  When an Outlander shows up, Adam will don a deep blue dress coat, and replace his usual comfortable white shoes with an elegant pair of blue boots.  He  wears a gold belt buckle, which is shaped like a falcon in flight (the mayor’s symbol of Dobbins Hollow), and he has a ring on his left hand with the same pattern.  On his right hand, Adam wears a green ring (tiger’s eye), and a blue ring (topaz).  Both are wedding rings from his two wives, and he won’t part with them at all. HEAD MINER GREYSTONE’S HOUSE

HEAD MINER GREYSTONE’S HOUSE Name Height/ Weight Hair/ Eyes Age Description Items Worn Benjamin Greystone 5’ 7” 200# Brown Brown 54 Ben is the head miner of Dobbins Hollow, and is a dark, worn man.  His skin looks almost like a deep dirty leather, and his face is square and solid.  People claim that he was quite a striking man when he was younger, but if so then the mines have stolen whatever beauty he once possessed.  His right arm has a long series of deep scars which run up and down the length of it, and he always wears long pants to cover his legs.  Rumor has it that he was down in the mines once with a lot of friends, and that one of the timbers cracked and started to fall.  The collapse would have killed them all, but Ben ran right under the cracked timber and held it alone until the others could get out.  After they were out, and coming back in with new timber to shore up the mine, it collapsed.  It’s claimed that it was the collapse of the mine that gave him his scars, and ruined his right arm and leg for the rest of his life.  Most people claimed that it was a miracle that he survived the collapse at all. Ben always wears a pair of pants, and a nice pair of boots.  He never wears a shirt, but he does carry a large oak staff that he uses to help him walk with his limp. Brigitte Greystone 5’ 9” 124# Blonde Green 54 Brigitte is a saint.  Or at least, to the townsfolk of Dobbins Hollow, they think she’s a saint.  Brigitte has never hurt anyone, never bad mouthed anyone, and she has never turned anyone away for aid.  She tries to help everyone she meets, and often spends most of her day just wandering around looking for good deeds to do.  Most of the people in Dobbins Hollow love her dearly, and most would kill anyone who tried to hurt her.  Nearly the whole town feels as if it owes her a favor or ten for the little things she has done for them. Brigitte likes to wear long flowery clothes – Ben told her that he likes to keep her beauty to himself, so she doesn’t go around half naked or naked like most of the other people in town.  Most of her dresses are bright colors, and almost all of them have flowers or animals on them.  She doesn’t wear any type of shoes, and doesn’t seem to like them at all. Dolores Greystone 5’ 8” 135# Long Golden Light Blue 17 Dolores is an extremely beautiful girl.  She has an excellent tan, long golden hair, and she really seems to smile a lot.  From time to time, there even appears to be a nice golden glow about her.  Most people seem to have a real high regard for Dolores, and she is the most sought after wife in Dobbins Hollow.  Angelica is prettier than she is, but Dolores’  mother is actively looking to find her a husband, and Mark isn’t.  Dolores is one of the group of Misfits, but no one really knows why she’d hang out with such a rough group.  Dolores is just as secretive at anyone else in the Misfits, and won’t talk about what they do.  Everyone in town knows that Dolores loves challenges, puzzles, and riddles, and most people think that perhaps that may have something to do with her joining the Misfits. Dolores knows she’s beautiful, and she doesn’t think that she has any reason to hide her body or to be ashamed of it.  She’ll strip readily to go swimming, and doesn’t seem to have a bashful bone in her body.  Even when Outlanders come into town, Dolores is one of the most revealing women in Dobbins Hollow.  When Outlanders show up, she’ll wear a tiny thin skirt that barely covers her bottom, and a loose, thin shirt that will just as barely cover her top.  She always wears a ruby ring on her left middle finger, and a ruby bracelet on her left wrist.  The ring and bracelet are connected by a solid gold chain that has designs of crossed swords and shields engraved on it. Helena Greystone 5’ 5” 110# Long Golden Light Blue 14 Helena is every bit as beautiful as her older sister Dolores, but she doesn’t seem as aware of it as Dolores is.  Helena has always looked up to her older sister and holds her in a state of awe.  Helena will never betray Dolores for any reason, and has even took the blame and punishment for little wrongs Dolores has done.  Helena will not stand anyone putting her sister down, and will fight them ruthlessly until they apologize to her about whatever they said.  Most of the adults think that Helena’s steadfast devotion to her older sister is admirable, and a lot of times they will tell their own children, “Why can’t you get along like the Greystone children do!”  A lot of the younger children seem to take offense of that, and most call Helena ‘Sister’ s Slave!’ and a ‘Brainless twit that can’t think for herself.’ Helena is just as carefree with her dress as Dolores is, and is seen most of the time wandering around after her older sister quite naked.  Whenever Outlanders come into Dobbins Hollow, Helena will simply throw on a plain knee length dress.  She never wears shoes, but she does have a nice ruby anklet on her left ankle that Dolores gave her.  She’s never asked where Dolores got it at, or if she has, she’s never broken the secret of where it came from.  

CAPTAIN TRUEBLADE’S HOUSE Name Height/ Weight Hair/ Eyes Age Description Items Worn Trent Trueblade 6’ 0” 212# Black Brown 41 Trent is the local law enforcement in Dobbins Hollow.  He’s a well-liked man, but he seems a bit distant from time to time.  He’s always keeping an eye on everyone, and he seems to be terribly disappointed in his son Brent, and the Misfits.  Trent’s main purpose as Guard is not to arrest citizens of Dobbins Hollow, but is instead to make sure that the Outlanders that come into town don’t cause any serious trouble.  Trent spends an hour each morning and each evening practicing with his long sword, and it is said that he has mastered its use.  For those few people that he thinks is worthy of his high standards, Trent will teach them how to fight as well. Trent is the only official guard in Dobbins Hollow, so he almost always appears to be in uniform.  Trent tends to always wear a suit of deep blue chain mail armor, a deep blue helmet with white wings, and carries his long sword constantly by his side.  Trent is one of the very few people in Dobbins Hollow  that wear metal armor, so he is usually fairly easy to pick out if he’s needed in an emergency. Brenda Trueblade 5’ 11” 149# Black Green 40 Brenda is her husband’s shadow.  Wherever you find Trent, you’ll find Brenda.  She’s a wiry woman, and she seems to have a stomach for murder unlike many other people in town.  The one time that an Outlanders merchant guard got out of control, Brenda snuck up behind him and placed a dagger 3” deep into his back.  She sat and watched the light slowly dim and fade from the guard’s eyes, and then grinned up at Trent and told him, “I’m hungry now.  Let’s stop by the Inn and eat.  I  worked up an appetite.”  As far as the townsfolk are concerned, a few of them seem to be afraid of Brenda, but most just seem to be glad that she’s on their side. Brenda tends to consider herself a guard as much as Trent does, but she doesn’t like the weight or feel of the metal armor.  Consequently, she tends to be seen wearing a suit of light blue studded leather armor, white boots, and white gloves.  When asked if she ever gets hot, her reply is, “Yes, stupid, but some things are more important than being hot. “  She carries a short sword by her left side, 2 daggers at her right side, 2 daggers in each boot, a short bow strapped across her right shoulder, and a quiver of 20 flight arrows across her left shoulder.  Brenda tends to look more like a guard preparing for war than a simple peacekeeper for a quiet no-trouble town. Brent Trueblade 6’ 2” 235# Black Brown 16 If Brenda is Trent’s shadow, then Brent is his reflection.  Brent looks almost exactly like Trent did when he was a young man, and even seems to have his same way of looking at the world.  Most people were hoping that Brent would take over as Dobbins Guard, but now they aren’t so sure anymore.  Brent has started following Scarlet around, and he seems to do anything that she tells him to.  It’s obvious that Brent doesn’t want to be with her or the Misfit’s, but he seems resigned to stay with them.  Brent almost never talks anymore, and he seems completely aloof from most people.  It’s not very often that he’ll even nod or grunt in acknowledgment when he’s talked to.  Their are rumors that Scarlet has drugged him or used some form of magic on him, but there’s no proof of it…..yet. Brent is like his father in the fact that he’s also one of the few people in Dobbins Hollow who wears metal armor.  Brent wears a deep yellow suit of chain mail, but no one is sure where it came from.  People just seem to accept the fact that the Misfits and their friends seem to come up with some strange items from time to time, but no one really seems overly concerned about it.  No merchant has reported anything stolen, and no one in town has lost anything or had anything stolen, so no one really  seems too worried about it.  Brent also wears a blue-bladed long sword by his side, and he has a yellow helmet with the engraving of a falcon on it that he’ll wear from time to time.  Brent is always seen wearing soft leather boots, usually carries a large steel shield, and now wears a Cat’s Eye ring on his right hand. Kira Trueblade 4’ 1” 95# Black Green 10 Kira and her two sisters are inseparable, and they are always seen together.  The three of them stay out of trouble, unlike most of the other children in town, and they can usually be found at the Warm Spring, playing in the water.  Kira is one of the most responsible children in town, and a lot of the adults treat her as if she was older than she really is.  Kira is aware of this enhanced trust, and she always tries to do her best to not break it. Kira and all her sisters are like most of the young children in town.   They tend not to worry about clothes most of the time, and if Outlanders show up, Kira and her sisters will simply throw on one of Brent’s or Trent’s shirts and wear it as a short dress. Silvana Trueblade 3’ 9” 89# Black Brown 9 Silvana is a young bright eyed beauty.  Everyone claims that she is going to be a heartbreaker when she gets older, but Silvana disagrees when them all.  Silvana has a strong, willful spirit, and she’s claimed over and over again that no boy was ever going to touch her.  “Boys are icky!”  She stays away from the boys, and tends to fight with them if they get around her.  Silvana and all her sisters are like most of the young children in town.   They tend not to worry about clothes most of the time, and if Outlanders show up, Silvana and her sisters will simply throw on one of Brent’s or Trent’s shirts and wear it as a short dress. Simona Trueblade 3’ 6” 80# Black Green 8 Simona is the boy lover in town.  She chases the boys, tries to catch them, and always tells Silvana how well they kiss and love her.   Silvana tends to ignore Simona a lot when she’s acting like that, so Simona tends to act like a boy chaser a lot.  Simona is a wild child, and she can never seem to settle down and control herself.  Of all the Trueblade children, Simona has gotten hurt the most often, the worst, and is according to her mother herself, “The hardest damn thing to keep up with in Dobbins Hollow.” Simona and all her sisters are like most of the young children in town.   They tend not to worry about clothes most of the time, and if Outlanders show up, Simona and her sisters will simply throw on one of Brent’s or Trent’s shirts and wear it as a short dress.

FARMER ERVINS’ HOUSE Name Height/ Weight Hair/ Eyes Age Description Items Worn Esmond Ervins 5’ 10” 170# White Green 52 A farmer that has aged before his time, Esmond has white hair, a scraggly looking beard, and his back is constantly giving him trouble.  He’s not the healthiest man in Dobbins Hollow, and his wife and children tend to have to care for him about 3 months out of each year.  Esmond is a rough man, and when he was younger, he was constantly fighting with other people in Dobbins Hollow.  Some even whisper than his early old age is a result of the Gods disfavor on him for it.  Esmond thinks there is no Gods, just fools who want to believe  in something beside themselves, and is still one of the hardest men in town to get along with.  He tends to beat his wife and children from time to time, “Just to let his ire out.”, and most of the towners are secretly hoping for the old bastard to go ahead and die. Esmond wears the standard farmers outfit whenever he’s able to work in the fields – a pair of loose shorts, and usually a pair of old, comfortable sandals. Xandra Ervins 5’ 7” 110# Blonde Blue 41 Xandra is the town's mouse woman.  She’s terribly meek, and almost never raises her voice or offers an opinion.  She’ll ball up and cry if anyone raises their voice to her, and she always seems to have a weak, tired look on her face.  If one goes to the temple and finds her there, they can usually find her praying to the Gods to let her come home.  Praying that she can finally die and find some peace – that she’s tired of this life, and ready to move on. Xandra stands out from most women in Dobbins Hollow, as she tends to dress according to the strictest Anduran standards.  Xandra wears long dresses, knee-high boots, elbow-length gloves, and usually has a wide-brimmed hat pulled down over her face.  She claims that she likes clothes like that, but everyone really knows that they’re just to hide the scars and bruises her husband has given her over the years. Ethan Ervins 6’ 8” 205# Black Blue 24 Ethan is a hard young man.  He doesn’t usually go out looking for trouble, but he’ll never run from it either.  He’s currently engaged to Gloria Kingsley, and he’s quite strict about what she can and can not do.  Gloria’s parents don’t like him much, but she really seems to have fallen for him.  Ethan has never hit her, or abused her, but he has cursed her quite loudly before.  Ethan works out in the fields, and he never goes back home to check on his father.  A lot of people has heard Ethan wish death and dismemberment upon his father, and whenever Ethan drinks, he’ll threaten to do it himself.  He still seems to care about his mother, and is constantly giving her food or gold to help her whenever he sees her out in town. Ethan is a miner, refusing to be anything like his father.  He tends to wear long pants, boots, and thick shirts whenever he’s going to or coming from work.  Whenever he’s not working, Ethan tends to relax a lot, and simply wears a plain pair of knee-length shorts – a style which is quite a bit longer than what other men and women wear in Dobbins Hollow. Nima Ervins 5’ 3” 105# Black Green 23 Nima is a lot like her mother.  She’s a terribly quite young woman, and she never seems to smile much.  She married Farmer Nathan Underhill, and he’s 32 years older than she is.  Nathan is a very harsh man, and she only married him because her father told her to – some people even say that Nathan paid her father to make her marry him.  No one knows for certain, and Nima seems way to frightened to say anything at all.  In fact, Nima has probably only spoken a dozen times to anyone since she was married about three years ago. It’s hard to say exactly what Nima’s wearing now – ever since she’s gotten married, she’s almost never been out in public.  Nima stays at home, and won’t even answer the door if anyone knocks on it, unless her husband is around to get it and talk to whoever is visiting. Martin Ervins 6’ 2” 190# Blonde Green 19 Martin is a very rough young man, and he and his brother Kyle are always getting into trouble.  Martin is one of the Misfits, and he and his brother are half of the reason the Misfits have such a bad reputation.  Martin is constantly bullying the other children, fighting with them, and he seems to enjoy just listening to them cry and beg him to stop bothering them.  Only Scarlet seems to be able to make him quit, and she doesn’t seem to like to be around him much, so he’s let alone to do whatever he wants usually. Martin wears a dingy brown suit of studded leather armor, and carries a long spear which he claims he uses for hunting.  If Martin has ever hunted or killed anything, what it is, is still unknown to most people in town.  Martin wears a gold earring in his right ear, and has four nice gold rings on his left hand.  On his right hand, Martin has two gold rings, and two silver ones. Kyle Ervins 6’ 3” 195# Black Blue 18 Kyle is just as rough and mean as his older brother.  He’s also a Misfit, and he’s always fighting with someone else, usually double teaming them with his brother Martin.  Kyle has a long pink scar that runs down his left arm, and no one is certain where he got it at.  Even Mark seems to be unable to heal the scar, and that seems to worry him a lot.  Kyle seems to enjoy making people cry and beg for mercy almost as much as his brother does. Kyle wears a suit of pale green studded leather armor, and carries a dark black mace by his side.  The mace is darker than the shadows around it, and there is something about it that makes it seem to stand out, almost hypnotizing in its own way.  His left ear has a matching gold earring to Martin’s, and his right hand has one large emerald ring on the middle finger. FARMER ERVINS’ HOUSE (Continued) Name Height/ Weight Hair/ Eyes Age Description Items Worn Xylia Ervins 5’ 11” 123# Blonde Green 17 Xylia is a jumpy young lass that tries to stay away from home as much as possible.  If she can stay at a friend's house, she will, and often will stay away from home for as long as a month at a time.  She seems terribly frightened by Martin and Kyle, and always tries to avoid them.  She’ll never go anywhere alone with the two of them, and will often run from them if she sees them coming before they see her.  Xylia does seem to have a gift with plants, as the crops and fields she tend to seem to grow bigger and faster than any other in Dobbins Hollow. Xylia is fairly pretty, but no one would ever claim that she’s the town’s beauty.  She tends to wear loose clothing, and will shed it fairly quickly as long as her two older brothers aren’t around.  Xylia seems terribly afraid to get undressed in front of the two of them, and if they show up at the river while she’s bathing or swimming, she’ll stop and quickly put her clothes back on.  They just laugh and smirk at her when that happens, and then she’ll usually start crying. Lucas Ervins 5’ 9” 160# Blonde Green 16 Lucas is called by many people ‘The Ervins Gem’.  He made himself a promise on his 15 th birthday that he wasn’t going to be like his family at all, and he’s not.  Lucas is a bright young man, and he keeps several books at the church which he studies whenever he’s not in the fields working.  He claims that he’s going to be a priest someday and help people, and Mark tells him that he has the potential to be a better priest than him someday.  Lucas smiles a lot, and always seems to be apologizing for Kyle and Martin.  He can even be heard praying that someday they will learn the error of their ways and change. Lucas generally wears a pair of bright white pants, and dirt never seems to stay on them.  His older brothers have even tossed him into the mud before, and when he got up,  his pants were still just as white as before.  It was quite a sight to see: him all black from the mud, with a pearly white grin, and a bright white pair of pants. Martha Ervins 4’ 5” 100# Blonde Blue 13 Martha is a shy little girl that doesn’t have too much to do with the other children in town.  Her only true friend is Bobby Heartstone, and she is convinced that she will marry him when she gets older.  Martha seldom seems to smile much, and she doesn’t seem to like or trust men at all – she tenses up and gets extremely quiet whenever she is alone with one.  Most of the Towners like Martha, but they think that she is too shy for her own good. Martha is almost never seen at her home, and is almost always with Bobby.  She has even spent nights sleeping in his room – refusing to go home.  She wears plain knee-length dresses, and never has any shoes on.

MINER BRIGHTBLADE’S HOUSE Name Height/ Weight Hair/ Eyes Age Description Items Worn Samuel Brightblade 5’ 11” 275# Black Dark Brown 45 Samuel is a rough looking man.  He has a square, leathery-looking face.  He goes to the mines every day,  missing only when there is a birthday or his anniversary.  Will come home if something has happened to the kids.  Has dirty dingy skin, comes from working in the mine.  Keeps his hair short and keeps his beard and mustache shaved.  His eyes seem to shine whenever he looks at Malinda.  Has long, chubby fingers and his nails never seem to grow out.  He is wide shouldered, muscled man. One of the best miners there is.  He’s not the smartest man nor the dumbest man neither.  A kind man and tries to help whenever possible. He is slow to anger and tends to take things in stride.  He accepts things easy.  He tends to talk in a slow mannered voice that will put you to sleep.  Uses the pick very good. He is usually seen in his working clothes.  A long sleeve shirt that’s a dirt brown and a pair of brown pants that has some patches in them.  Also wears a pair of leather boots.  He is usually quite due to his slow talking, but when he does speak most people will take the time form him to listen.  He is a real good listener, and has a way to look on the bright side of things no matter how terrible they are.  He also can be seen wearing a small boyish grin. Malinda Brightblade 5’ 5” 120# Short Brown Green 40 She is a fisher.  She goes fishing almost every day unless it is a special day.  She has a dark tan with no tan lines. She also enjoys cooking and making clothes.  She has a lot of fun doing that.  She is also easy to get along with.  She does have a temper though.  We were always more scared of her than father when we would get in trouble. She also smiles quite a bit.  Some even say that she has trouble frowning.  She is truly in love with Samuel. She doesn’t worry with clothing at all unless the merchants are there. While the merchants are around she can be seen in a loose fitting top and skirt.  She hardly ever wears shoes.  Only when she has to.  She is an opinionated woman.  Usually not afraid to speak it either.  When she walks it does seem as though she bounces somewhat, like a child with a new toy. Kendell Brightblade 6’ 3” 280# Black Blue 25 He works in the mines, and smiles a lot as well.  He goes swimming when he is not in the mines.  He says it relaxes him.  It is something he really enjoys doing as well.  He also sings,  and often gets wrapped up in the song, forgetting anyone else is around.  He has made up songs about the whole town before.  He has a good tan.  He spends time juggling and entertaining the children from time to time.  He even has been seen painted up before so he could hear the kids laugh.  Does know a little chaos magic – like change self, shrink, grow, and dancing lights.  He also flirts with the women a lot. Usually wears blue pants, and sandals.  He carries a small sack of balls which he uses to juggle and entertain the children.  He usually wears a huge smile.  And it also seems that the children are attracted to him in some odd way.  He also seems to have a way to keep the children calm and relaxed as well.  He seems to take it upon his self to watch the children as if they were his own.  There is some of the children that consider him to be a brother even though they al ready might have one really. Randy Brightblade 5’ 9” 255# Blonde Blue 23 He goes fishing with mother.  Her friends just adore him.  He is so polite and friendly.  He can do no wrong with them either.  He also climbs upon one of the mountains and sits there and paints Dobbins Hollow.  If you can’t find him in town you know that he is up there painting.  Most in likely painting the girl of his dreams.  He enjoys telling stories weather they are true or not.  Most of the time he will make them up just to get people's attention.  He likes being the center of attention from time to time.    He is a decent looking young man. Can be found wearing white pants and no shoes unless he was going climbing.  He can be found a lot in the inn telling stories.  He can make up some of the funniest stories and the sadist ones to.  He tends to look more toward the older women that the younger ones.  He seems to get along with them better. Derek Brightblade 6’ 0” 225# Red Blue 20 Derek is pulling pranks constantly. He looks so cute and cuddly.  He is always into something and it usually ends up getting him into some type of trouble  He stretches the truth all the time.  A small field mouse becomes some huge man-eating worm or something. He seemed to always do that.  He really gives the mayor and his children a hard time.  No one knows why either.  He also gives his younger sisters and brother a very hard time. We all get blamed for some of the stuff he has done.  He also can’t be trusted to much.  Truly you never know when he is lying or speaking the truth.  He does go and fish some but he also goes into the mines and work.  It depends on what type of mood he is in when he gets up that morning.  He usually has a small little smirk on his face. It seems as though he has trouble matching his cloths up.  They generally don’t match at all. .  He will wear bright orange with a light purple shirt. He will wear shoes more that his brothers and sisters do.  He can be sometimes hard to get along with.  One problem most people have with him is that you never know when he is telling the truth or lying to you.  He does tend to keep a big bright smile on his face.  He can be found wandering the town looking for his next victim.
