Setting the stage...

Currently, this game is simply gathering its players and setting the stage for when we actually do begin playing. First game is scheduled to actually begin on HALLOWEEN (Oct 31, 2019), at 7:00PM EST. Following games will hopefully occur on a weekly basis, but will be flexible to accommodate player's schedules. Game campaign is planned to be rather long lasting, with no foreseeable end date in sight. Players, feel free to say, "Hello," to each other below.
Hey, upfront my account name is likely to be my character name if that isn't any issue. Also, since it isn't clear, I'm male and will be playing a female character. I normally play fighter types in games like dnd but I think I'll try something more unique given this rule set that were playing with. I'm excited to try out Steve's awesome idea and hope to get along with everyone during play.
Nice to meet you Lilith.  I don't have any issues with males playing females, or females playing males, or dogs pretending to be chickens....  ;) I've got extensive notes and such for the game here, and am starting to get some of them up so the players can go ahead and familiarize themselves a bit with the people and town.  Game play begins in the sheltered little town of Dobbin's Hollow, and characters grow and expand from there. A few quick points of note for players who are used to the Dungeons&Dragons rulesets:  1) Wizards can work healing magics. 2) Priests can work destructive magics. 3) Even warriors normally have a smidge of magic in them...   Truly "mage dead" characters are extremely rare, so the norm for this setting is for most people to have access to at least *some* magical capabilities. ------------------------ Magic has two basic "sources": Mystical and Spiritual. Mystical magic comes from within, and has to be mastered by each user.  Once you learn the magic, it's yours forever more, but it's rather difficult to learn to begin with sometimes, and may require much time and research, or high expenses to purchase tutors/books of learning.... Spiritual magic comes from the Gods, and is a gift from them.  Be faithful, be in good standing, and they might gift you magics...  Of course, fall out of good standing, and that gift might be revoked...  Much easier to learn, but is dependent upon following the faith of the God in question. Don't enter the game thinking that, "My wizard can't heal", or, "My warrior can't cast a strength spell upon themselves..."
Good Morning Lilith and Steve :)  I am excited about playing this game as well.  I may play warrior or knightly type -  just not sure yet though.  I can play something else, if someone wants to be a warrior.  It's not a real issue.  BTW, I am a female and will be playing a female as well.  LOL  I really like the idea of the virtue system.  Be interesting to learn about.  Stuff like that is an interest to me :) I always have trouble coming up with a good name...for some reason.
Good afternoon! I'm Hungrysan and just to be clear I'm almost always hungry. I like to play well-spoken, intellectual characters. In D&D my favorite characters to play were Warlocks and Wizards because of their emphasis on knowledge and charisma. I am very good at improving dialogue and often try to talk my way out of situations. I've played D&D 5E for two years and I've been trying to play Vampire: The Masquerade for a year.
Good afternoon all,  I have been out of playing D&D for about 15 years now but this campaign sounds exciting and I am excited to get back to using my imagination and being involved in the storytelling process. When I played I was playing as a cleric type character.
I'm new to roll20, how is this meeting going to work?
I guess we're doing introductions here. I'm Sam, I've been playing various chaotic good types for about 30 years now. I've got a few ideas for fun archetypes but I'm not committing to anything until I'm able to have my session with Steve.
OMG I'm like a school boy on his firs exursion, Hi everyone, i hope we get along splendidly!!
