[LF5P] 5E Sword & Sorcery Sandbox in long-running world (over 2 years) session zero 10/4/19. PST.

Parasomnium: A Memory of Belonging is a Dnd 5e homebrew campaign set in a world where the veil between dream and reality is wafer-thin. Most learned mystics would question if there is a difference at all. The setting should appeal to those who enjoy deduction and mystery, heavy roleplay and sandbox settings, and combat that comes with risk. A war between the gods has destabilized a great many things, but where instability exists, so too, does opportunity. Old things may rise again alongside the new, and a capable adventurer might find themselves in the midst of more than a little heavenly chaos. Because of the level of detail and lore pre-written for the game world – I just finished 2 2-year long weekly campaigns with about 4 weeks of missed play time between the two in this one realm – I will be hosting one or two session zeroes to bring players up to date on need-to-know areas of the game. I am looking for players that are very team-oriented, with a great emphasis on intuition and being able to self-start when it comes to clues, deduction, social maneuvering, and improvisation.  The characters must be related via village life, blood, or bonds of friendship/ oath/ cultural ideals as I would like there to be a base level of trust with all players. Because this world features some analogous themes to real-life, I do rate this game at the very least 18+. There will be many light-hearted opportunities, but their prevalence will largely be determined by the party seeking them out. I am currently targeting 7:00pm (or somewhere in that range) PST Fridays for weekly games. The first zero session will take place this Friday, October 4th, at 7pm. We use discord.  Private message me with any questions/concerns, or express your interest and experience level with dogs here in this thread. I would also like to know what motivates you in dnd, as well as why you play the game.
I'm pretty interested! I'm pretty much free most of the week, so time isn't too much of a trouble for me personally. As for my experience with dogs, I'm currently living with 3 of them. They keep the house pretty lively even when the rest of the household is out of the house, so I tend to spend a fair amount of time making sure they don't get into trouble. As for why I like D&D, I enjoy getting to know new people and having genuine fun with them. More concretely (as in what I like to see in campaigns), I enjoy moral decisions that makes the party discuss together and make the most of their characters' experiences. I also enjoy making the most of the system's rules and finding interesting situations to use the smaller, less-known rulings. I have a personal tendency to make the most of character creation, since it's a fun enough thought activity even when you aren't in an ongoing campaign. I figured I'd ask this question in the thread since others might be curious, but what would be an estimate of your typical player group?

Oh man...dogs...my stupid phone autocorrected and I missed that! Can you clarify what you mean by estimate of typical player group?
Well, basically how large you intend for the party to be? Do you usually have it around 4 players in the party, or do you prefer running games with more or less people?
Between 4 to 6. 4 and 5 is my preference

Understood. Thank you for the quick replies! That wouldn't be a problem with me personally.
Hello, I would like to give this campaign a try. I have recently returned to RPG's after a year long break. I have over 1400 hours played in Roll20 with the majority of those hours in Pathfinder, D&D 5E, and World of Darkness. My experience with dogs has always been positive. I have very rarely been without a dog in the family. I have experience with Pitt Bulls and Chihuahuas. Fridays are perfect for me. I have discord as well. Story is king within D&D or any other RPG. I play to experience a story and have fun with others, if just for a few hours.
