Is there anyone who will allow me to play my mystic class version of Futurina in D&D 5e?

Hi, I am an author and have played D&D since the early 80's.  In the late 80's I created Futurina in D&D as a villain for our group.  We moved away so I never got to use her.  I played her for 20 years in GURPS but would love to play her in the system she was meant to be in.  Everywhere I look on this site I keep getting told NO MYSTICS.  I'm sorry if you cannot adapt to a new class.  I just want to play the character.  I love and have her in two books already.  Why can't she be in the game I originally intended her to be in?
Just saw this and decided I should let you know a lot of people consider mystic to be overpowered. It is nothibg about it being new, it is the fact it is well known for being a bit unfair at the table as mystics are usually able to do near everythubg themselves
Not really if you use the Psi points correctly.  My character at 1st level only has four and at most can only use one ability twice.  I have seen someone else play a Mystic and they don't use the psi points at all.  That will make a Mystic way OP.  That's why people think the class is OP.
I personally never allow it and neither does anyone I know but I'll take your word for it. Just explaining why I atleast dislike the use of the class(even though I believe there should be more diversity in classes)
If you have to intentionally ignore class features to make a class fair, your class is busted. Perhaps you should accept reality and just play something that's not a mystic.
I want to play my character Futurina.  She cannot be a wizard or a Sorcerer by her back story I have played this character in GURPS, Champions, Rifts, but I created her in D&D and would love to play her in D&D.  What do you have to ignore to make the class any different than a Wizard OR Sorcerer?  They get powerful.  I will use the Psi points as directed in the class.  WHY DON"T YOU IGNORE THE RULES AND PLAY A CLASS YOU DON"T WANT TO?
I just want to play the character I had intended to back in the late 80's.  SO F******* SORRY YOU CAN"T ACCEPT THAT!
Hey some people still accept mystics, just saying you should probably also accept the real possibility those DM's(and tables) are gonna be few and far between. No one is really judging you for just trying to play a character but the d&d community as a majority(not a whole) isn't generally accepting of the class.

Also mystic in the 80's was probably a lot more balanced than in the current edition so maybe that is why we have different views of the class But hey different core classes or even homebrew could be a substitute or maybe you might find a dm that can work with it(Gonna stop replying to this thread now but just wanted to try and answer why mystic as is is generally not accepted at tables)
At the end of the day, it is completely up to the DM. Personally, I don't allow ANY Unearthed Arcana in my games at all, because a good percentage of it just doesn't work or is completely broken. If you're determined to play the character, you're going to have to be patient and wait for a game. If you want to just play D&D faster, you're gonna have to drop the character. That's just the way it is. However, I will say, remember that DMs can look through your profile to find posts like this. Seeing you snapping at another user, being aggressive towards them and swearing at them, for me, is a massive no go. Just doesn't show you in a great light as a player. Only saying this to let you know.
John C. said: I just want to play the character I had intended to back in the late 80's.  SO F******* SORRY YOU CAN"T ACCEPT THAT! I was going to reach out to you and talk about the mystic class. I have a martial heavy party. But seeing how you just conducted yourself, I don't want someone who seemingly snaps at people for no reason at my table.  Good luck with your future adventures.
It's okay, it just shows the passion I have for the character.  I'm tired of hearing NO!  so I'm just logging off You people with your small minds, and inability to adapt have a great day.  I wish you all to have the experience I have had trying to play this character.  Maybe some day you will understand.  Good night.
