Welcome adventurers, to the Eternal Empire ...Or, at least, whats left of it. Once a massive civilization spanning across vast lands and several isles, the Eternal Empire is no more; abandoned and forgotten with its inhabitants missing or dead, with those few who remain either unable or unwilling to speak of the events that took place so long ago. This land holds a foul curse; taking hold and corrupting not just the people but the very land itself. Perhaps by your own desire, or by forces out of your control, you have found yourself on this accursed land and must fight for survival and uncover what happened to this land and its people. Will you and your party find a way off this land, back to the safety of the outside world? Perhaps the source of this curse will be uncovered and destroyed, freeing it forever. Or maybe you’ll end up like the rest of them; another meal for a hungry beast. About me Hello everyone, my name is Zinthow and I have been a DM for about 4-5 years now, with a few of those years on roll20 itself. I have quite a bit of experience in 5e and I love nothing more than weaving a story for players to slowly uncover and explore. I try to stick close to the rules whenever possible, but don't get caught up on them and try to make sure every game runs smoothly and efficiently. I like to make sure my players get to pull off whatever crazy and wacky plans they might have, saying “Yes” whenever possible. I bring characters and the world to life through a variety of music and unique voice accents, giving each NPC its own unique and interesting personality and quirks. My most important rule is to make sure all my players are having fun; if a player is having a problem I like to talk with them and figure out what's wrong and how we can fix it so they are having fun once again. Game information The game can be run on any day and time that is convenient for the players, with the exception of 1:00 - 5:00 EST on Saturdays, and 5:00 - 10:00 EST on Sundays, as I am unavailable at those times. The only real limitation to playing is the group itself willingness to play! ...And time zones. Sessions run anywhere from 3-5 hours, depending on player engagement, events in game, etc. Each session runs 10$, A fair price for the work I put in (Usually every hour of play takes me around 2-3 hours to prepare) Session 0, however, is free! This gives players a chance to familiarize themselves with each other, myself, and decide if they wish to commit to the campaign or not. Character creation  - Rulebook: We will be using Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition rules.  - Available resources: Everything is on the table. Official books published by Wizards of the Coast, Unearthed Arcana, and/or even Homebrew. If you wish to use something Homebrew it must be approved by myself in advance.  - Starting level: All players begin at level 1, using point buy or the standard array of 15,14,13,12,10,8. I do not use rolling for stats, unless all players in a group agree to use it.  - Backstories: While players can have as elaborate and detailed backstories as they want (and it's encouraged to have a few good character hooks) the world the players find themselves on will be very different than the one they came from, meaning it might be challenging or near impossible to fulfill some backstory goals. If you have an idea you want incorporated into the world, speak with me in advance for important NPCs or backstory hooks.  - Session 0: Session 0 will be the players first session, where I will explain the campaign and detail any required information. While players do not need to make their characters before session 0 it is highly advised for you to have at least a basic idea of who and/or what you want to play. If players need help creating their character I am more than able to help them before, during, or after session 0. Player and DM expectations As a player, it is expected that you:  - Show up on time for agreed upon session dates. Communicate with myself and other players if life events occur preventing them from showing up to a session.  - Be polite to other players; Some people are new to tabletop games or might have different ideas then you, but you should still respect them both in and out of the game.  - Try to stay engaged in both the story, combat, and discovery of the world.  - Do not disrupt the flow of the game; This means if someone is talking you should wait for them to finish their thought before speaking, wait for me to finish descriptions before asking to do something, and avoid too much cross talk during other players turns in combat.  - Do not argue rules with the DM. I try to handle rules as quickly as possible, going with an on-the-fly ruling over pausing the game to look for it. If you know I made a mistake and it can be fixed immediately, then please speak up during the session. Otherwise, if you feel I made a mistake or handled a situation poorly, but it would take time to explain or look for the correction, please speak with me after the game has finished so I can avoid making the mistake in the future.  - Players will maintain their character sheets and update them accordingly (leveling up, items and gear, gaining temporary effects, etc).  - Players should have some reason for working together. Whether it be longtime friends and family, or just simple survival, it is expected you give yourself a reason to NOT be hostile to the party.  - You must have Discord and be willing to use voice communication for sessions. As a DM, I am expected to:  - Be on time every single session.  - Communicate if there are any scheduling conflicts.  - Respect every player and their opinions equally. Be fair in how I treat players and how I govern the rules of play.  - Listen to player feedback and incorporate their ideas into the session if possible.  - Provide a wonderful experience for all players, to ensure everyone has a fun and memorable time. Death It should be noted the world and campaign setting are a dangerous one with death around every corner; sometimes literally. While the cowardly Kobolds might simply capture the party and interrogate them, finding a way to use them to fulfill their plans, the Orcs and monstrous beasts won’t think twice about finishing off their prey. Many dangers can be found in this world, and if the players are not careful, then their next encounter could be their last. With that said, revival is always an option if the players have it at their disposal or can find someone to aid them. I am not out to kill your characters (Far from it, I would wish to see your adventures be long and prosperous) but I cannot say the same about the world and its inhabitants. Consider this a fair warning. Application For those looking to apply to this campaign, or who wish to learn more about it, simply message me or click the link bellow: Apply Here!
