Hello all! Looking for a few more to fill out our RPG group going forward. While we certainly like the intimacy of 3 players and one GM we need a few more for a more well rounded group to take on the dangers of this setting! What is it? Classic Fantasy RPG, Just below High Fantasy - No gunpowder however. Semi Grim-dark/adult setting (here we talk about a rough hard setting not to be confused with hood wearing acolytes of Chaos at&nbsp; every &nbsp;corner type grim dark)&nbsp; When is it? Every Thursday at 13:00 / 1 PM&nbsp;EST - sessions last for 5 hours until 18:00 / 6 PM EST Is it free, or do I have to pay? No pay to play, it is 100% free of charge and always will be. Text, Voice or CAM? Voice Only (Discord), Push-to-talk, no mouth-breathers and no voice activation (Push-to-talk only).&nbsp;Alternatively, camera can be optional if people so desire down the road but only if we have 100% consensus or no deal. We are not big on peer pressure.&nbsp; What is required? #01 &nbsp;- You must pass an interview, so we are sure that the interests and wishes of the existing players are met, as well as to ensure a meeting of the mind for the scope and direction this campaign is going for. We reserve the right to deny all applicants (politely) for whatever reason or no reason at all if we so choose. #02 &nbsp;- You must be 21+ (violence, very graphic, sexual content etc.&nbsp; may &nbsp;appear) sorry youngsters! We are not pursuing shock and horror for the sake of it but try to stay true to the adult setting it is. If you have an issue with this, this will not be what you are looking for. #03 &nbsp;- All are welcome. Political belief, color, race, gender, sexual orientation or otherwise we are friendly to all. We do ask people refrain from engaging in political affairs no matter what sides they come down on to keep things fun and friendly. #04 &nbsp;- You must have Discord and a clear voice on the mike (sorry, no terrible voice qualities allowed). Push-to-talk only. #05 &nbsp;- Fluency in English is a must. #06 &nbsp;- You must observe and practice the art of commitment as we do in turn to you. We have no interest or tolerance for people who do not attend the sessions on time. We do not demand anything but fair treatment. If you cannot make it to a session, it will be expected of you to inform us in reasonable advance so people can make other plans. #07 &nbsp;- Real life racism, sexism, or any other discriminatory behavior is unwelcome and will get you removed (in-game is a different matter, setting is harsh and not for people looking for “political correctness”). #08 &nbsp;- Most of the materials released to the players require the use of&nbsp; Adobe Reader . Who/what kind of players are you looking for? Adults 21+ Years or older, sorry youngsters - you are too Hammerstein for us!! we are also looking for people who are looking for possible long-term commitment to a campaign hopefully stretching years. We are looking for people with a positive disposition, an open mind and who leave the attitude at the door. We are looking for RP oriented players, not min-maxers or fantasy professors. Our focus is simply being part of an immersive, engaging and dynamic story free of the limitations of most systems. This requires dedication to the essence of Roleplay itself. That said, the system has a lot of depth but never at the expense of a player’s freedom. There will be no "railroading", no&nbsp; Deus ex machina , no forced choices and the setting offers total freedom to go anywhere in the world whenever you feel so inclined. Please note that&nbsp; this is not &nbsp;an invite for a casual session or two. This system (not just mechanics) is complex and requires a high degree of dedication and grit from all its players, beginner or veteran alike. It is also completely home brewed and private so you can’t just google your inquiries. While the learning curve is serious, the investment in time and effort is rewarded beyond measure. If you are willing to put the work in, you’ll find the setting has depth beyond anything you’ve ever experienced. So, if you want instant satisfaction, total access and so on, look elsewhere. If you want a long-term, completely immersive gaming experience then this is where you’ll find it. Despite the above-mentioned complexity level, fear not. This game does not require a PhD in Math, nor is it our intent to convey it as such. It is not overly "crunchy" it simply refers to the scale, scope and depth and the fact it is a new system to learn. It is in short not just a "Sunday stroll in the sun" so to speak, it requires fortitude and grit to absorb in its entirety. People looking for a "quickie" will not find satisfaction here. This setting tries to strike a balance between mechanics and storytelling, it does not believe in a binary approach where one is excluded above the other, here we believe both goes hand in hand for the best experience. We hope you are not turned away by all of this but we just want to be honest with you before you sink your time into this. What do we offer in turn? A very informal and relaxed group but with focus on a serious and committed RPG experience for adults and a place for mutual respect and willingness to help. We do not really believe in such a thing as too many questions or the idea of stupid questions. - last but not least hopefully an immersive RPG experience and a lot of good times! Will I be joining an ongoing Campaign or a brand new one? While you will be joining an existing group, the campaign is only a few sessions in! Is the setting well developed? or is it some "mish-mash" on a whim kind of thing? and how big is it? It has been developed (and still is) for over 20+ years, as to the question of "mish-mash" that I think is for you to decide yourself, and it is titanic in size and with cosmic planes as well. But while fine maps and seriously developed character sheets and systems are in place this will not be an experience where you can look things up. So if you have that rule-itch you have to ask for the answer. The setting draws inspiration from Forgotten Realms, Dark Sun,&nbsp;Warhammer Fantasy, Dragonlance and Lord of the Rings among many other sources.&nbsp; Will there be required rules/reading to join? No. Everything will be explained to you and you need not fear ridicule or repeat explanations we do it all with a smile! But it seems exhausting just to think about a new system! - I just learned how to play DnD! If you can learn one system you can learn to use another! and it is not very hard to do this, people of all ages has come before you and done it with great success for decades. The important bits: (Disclaimer effectively) People who are reserved, or do not&nbsp; truly &nbsp;want this need not apply. We have not the time to enter a tug-of-war with people resistant to the concept of the system or who are on the defense for new things, ideas, systems and settings or people with a glass-is-always-half-full disposition. People who are easily offended, has too much of a "chip on their shoulders" or need to always be right, or who argues everything need not apply at all, the same goes for people who does not understand the art of commitment. The Game! Games will be conducted on Roll20/Discord using "theater of the mind" quite extensively with visual aids to help along. If what you desire is battle-maps and lighting effects and such which is really cool! this is unfortunately not the game you are looking for even if we do handouts, maps and such we rarely use battle-maps other than in the most rudimentary of ways. The reason for this is this is simply put this is a true free sandbox and as such I have no chance to predict where and what the players are up to in advance as a result I cannot make the maps ready before time. This is the price you pay for&nbsp; true &nbsp;RPG freedom!&nbsp; You will be playing in a semi-grim setting during the&nbsp; Age of Strife &nbsp;where the world is in turmoil. Conflict rages everywhere, and the group will be playing the heroes, not villains!&nbsp; Campaign will have both personal and epic story arcs and will not be limited by linear progression as there is no such thing in this setting. Your choices as players matters and affects the setting both locally or universally - even historically! some players have affected the setting forever in their choices and other players can stumble across previous players impacts on the story line. The setting is dynamic and active regardless of players affairs so you can go through say a town and see some things are going on and ignore them or down prioritize them as you see fit but the events will be continuing on their own time so you may come back at a later time to find out the issues have played themselves out without waiting for your intervention this gives the setting a more realistic urgency and agency for the players experience. You will very quickly have many different adventures running simultaneously and you may not be able to do them all in time, so choosing which threads to follow and investigate/handle is also a part of this setting. The setting also covers an enormous length and breath of history so that there is many different named Ages in the setting. Character development and detail is the heart of this setting and system so you will have an incredible range of feats, traits, classes and pre-professions to choose from Combat is very dangerous and should not be engaged in "for the lulz" Critical effects, dismemberment and all kinds of violent outcomes are the provenance of combat and should not be done at a whim (however fun it can be!) Since character creation is a very involved process in this setting and it is not meant for short campaigns and short adventurer arcs but rather for long and ultimately epic scale and length - you cannot or should not just re-roll a new character at frequency. Respect the fact that violence comes with great risk here. Combat is also not just a series of sequential hacks, it is strongly encouraging heroic deeds, cinematic and a more dynamic play-style that just grinding down HP/Stats until the enemy is at zero. Hey guys and gals! I’m Phil, a member of the play group mentioned above and I just wanted to give you guys a bit of a view from the player’s side of things. I’ve been playin’ with these guys for almost two years and I wouldn’t trade that time for anything else! &nbsp; First off, this system is by far the best system I’ve ever experienced. Tons of character freedom and customization beyond your wildest dreams. It’s a system that, from the ground up, makes it feel like your decisions, and your character, matter. It is definitely a little bit more to get used to than other systems but, it is 110% worth it! One of my favorite things about the system is that, unlike systems like D&amp;D or Pathfinder, each character always feels unique. &nbsp; Secondly, the setting. H-o-l-y crap! It’s INSANELY immersive and the absolute definition of a sandbox game. Not only is there a ton of lore to uncover but, every decision you make feels like it actually makes a difference and not like you’re stuck on a set of tracks that only go one direction. As I said earlier, I’ve played for almost two years and still feel like there is an infinite depth in the setting for me to explore and that I’ve barely scratched the surface. &nbsp; Lastly, and possibly most importantly, with a great system and great setting what is something else you need? A great GM! This, we most definitely have! Our GM is the type that actually cares, not only about the story or the setting but, about each individual character and person too. He has also has helped me grow tremendously as a role-player. I have had some good GMs in the past but none who have gone to such great lengths to work with the players on weaving a tale so interesting. He is truly one of the greatest GMs I’ve ever had the opportunity to play for!

A small update! To all who have already contacted us and potential future players please be aware that we will be holding interviews on Thursday the 31st of October in the regular session time. We apologize for the relatively huge delay but we would all of us like to meet you and talk to you and unfortunately the 10th is too early and after that we have a 2 week break as one of our players are going to the Bahamas to attend a friends wedding. Again we apologize for the delay it was not planned for. We are also aware that the interview may interfere with Halloween so we can work around this day if need be for the interviews but at least it will be at that day or close to it pending people's needs.
