Line of sight & partial tile reveals

I am having an issue with line of sight where some tokens see all black when LoS is blocked, and others can see partial tiles revealed in gray.  This is when previewing lighting for two characters standing next to each other.  I've reset FoW multiple times, checked that they have the same sight settings, moved them around, swapped spots, but it's always the same.  One is seeing solid black, while the other sees gray versions of partially exposed tiles.  It seems to have something to do with the "Represents Character" option, as if I swap that the solid vs. gray also swaps. What Tokens See: Token Settings: Map Settings: Not sure what's going on, or what setting to change to fix this issue, any help would be appreciated.

If a token represent s a character (specifically, one that is owned by a player), then its list of previously seen grid squares is recorded by Advanced Fog of War. Tokens which do not represent player characters do not record this information, and merely display currently visible squares. Advanced Fog of War is very memory-intensive, and thus only applies to player characters. The reason you are seeing the previously seen areas as grid squares it that this is the behavior of Advanced Fog of War .
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, how a token is defined as a "player character" is kind of a pain, and those limitations don't seem to be pointed out in the wiki.
