User lingering from Google Hangouts - breaking whisper

We did a test run with Google Hangouts for our campaign, but then decided to use just the roll20 interface. One of our players logged in with his first and last name in his Google profile. For a while, we saw both his full name and his roll20 display name. Then we removed the Google+ player, but now we can't whisper to that player. When we type his first name, it seems to be sending to the (now-deleted) Google+ account, and it DOES NOT send to his roll20 account. I tried to kick the player, but the Google+ player is no longer listed. Any ideas? Thank you!

First, I would try having everyone log out and logging back in. See if that resets things.  If that doesn't work you could try to go to regular Roll20 and see if the player is there. If he is you might try kicking him and re-inviting him.  Let me know if any of that works.  - Gauss
Thanks for the reply. We tried logging everyone out and in again, and unfortunately we are still seeing the problem. I am reluctant to kick him because he is my co-GM and he is the one who started the campaign on roll20. Will that cause technical issues (will it shut down our campaign?). As an extra data point, when he is logged into his roll20 account, he is able to whisper to his first name, which then does not show up in his chat. So the whisperable player is definitely not the same one as the real player. Any other ideas? Thank you!

If he started the campaign I do not think you can kick him.  I will have to refer this to one of the others for further troubleshooting. I do not use Google+ much.  - Gauss

First off, I don't think this has anything to do with G+ specifically. I think it's that you have (had?) two different players in your Campaign both with the exact same Display Name...If I'm understanding correctly? So if the player in question was named "Joe Smith" (hypothetically) you kicked one Joe Smith and there's now another Joe Smith in-game and you can't whisper to him (and they were two different Roll20 accounts?) Quick question: when you go to the "Controlled By" or other similar drop-downs where it shows you a list of players, do two copies of Joe Smith's name show up? There's a few things you can try, from easiest to hardest: 1) Just have the "new" Joe Smith change his Display Name (under the My Settings tab) to something else. A little annoying, but it should fix the problem if I understand it correctly. 2) Use the Copy/Extend campaign feature (on the Campaign Details) page to create a copy of the campaign. DON'T copy the players. You'll have to re-invite everyone and re-set up any token permissions (slightly more annoying), but Joe Smith can keep his name the same. I'd be curious what the campaign is if you don't mind, just so I can take a look and see if I'm right and maybe figure out how to keep this from happening in the future. Thanks, RD
Sure. Our campaign is called "The Eladere Conflict" and it is associated with my account and my co-GM, Marc H..  He's the one who's been having this trouble. You can find the campaign here  and Marc's account here . (We tried changing his display name from "Marc H." to "Marc_GM", but whisper is still only giving one option, which is "Marc", and which does not send to his screen.) Marc has only ever had 1 roll20 account and 1 G+ account involved. We think maybe when we kicked "Marc Howard" (G+, logged in through "Marc H." roll20 account), it messed up "Marc H." (the roll20 account). As a software developer, this strikes me as an interesting bug to look into. Have you tested the system before with two people with identical display names (ex. two players "John S." and "John S.") in the same campaign? Thank you for all your help. And thanks for building roll20... we are loving it for our campaign!
