[LFP] [5E] Looking to get a new game going in EST, Friday evenings or Saturday afternoons.

Who: There are currently no attached players. I will be DMing the game. What: Any of the WotC published adventures, with the exception of Hoard of the Dragon Queen and Rise of TIamat. The adventure will be chosen by the group. When: Weekly, on Friday, after 7PM EST, or Saturday after 1PM EST Where: Gameplay will take place in Roll20, communication will be handled by Discord. Character sheets will be made on DnDBeyond, and will then be filled in on Roll20. I know this seems a bit hectic, but I am far more familiar and comfortable with DnDBeyond. How: Either send me a PM, or post in this thread. The ideal player will already have a character concept (note: a character concept is more than just a race and class; it includes a backstory [not a full biography, just a paragraph or two]) and an idea of the published adventure they'd like to play. The ideal player will be purely a player, and will not have DM'd before (if you have, you're not out of consideration, there will just be a more thorough interview) Do Not Apply To This Game If You're The Type Of Player That -Thinks sexual assault is an acceptable theme/action -Believes they are the main character -Abuses NPCs -Can't separate character knowledge from player knowledge -Can't speak in character (you don't have to do a voice, but at least try to emulate your characters vocabulary. Don't say things like "dope, word, I gotchu" when talking to NPCs) -Believes they know all the rules, and that the rules are infallible -Wants to play an anime character -Wants to play DnD because of memes -Believes they'll miss more than 1 session a month -Believes your character is immortal/is not okay with the possibility of your character dying Other Stuff: This game/group will be LGBTQ+ tolerant. This does NOT mean LGBTQ+ inclusive. If you would like for your character to be a member of the LGBTQ+ community, that's completely acceptable; it just probably won't come up a lot in the adventure. If it does, it will not be made the butt of a joke, and NPCs will not be hostile or abusive (unless that's already in their nature. Tim the Barkeep doesn't care about how you identify, he sees all sorts. Vaxxus the Lich is an asshole to everyone). If you're a new player , that's completely fine. I'm more than happy to help you create a character, and teach you the rules and how to play. I also have a DnD Beyond account, with content-sharing, which will make character creation much quicker and easier. I'd strongly prefer to not DM for a group of all new players, but if that's how the bones land then so be it. That being said, if you are a new player, I would very much expect you to take time before the first session, and time as needed between sessions, to familiarize yourself with the rules, especially as they pertain to your character. If you're playing a rogue, do not ask me how Sneak Attack works every time you try to use it. This game will be free. While I understand the needs of my fellow DMs, and respect their decisions, I think that paid GMing is against the very idea of Dungeons & Dragons. I do not have a paid Roll20 account, nor am I very familiar/experienced with the platform. Do not join this game if you're hoping to take full advantage of every aspect Roll20 has to offer. It will mostly be used for rolling dice, and having a map. I'm not going to lie and pretend I know the ins and outs of the platform, but I can certainly promise I'll try to learn more about it, and implement what I learn, as the adventure continues.
What level were you thinking of starting at?
Michael said: What level were you thinking of starting at? That depends a lot on the adventure chosen by the group. It will most likely be either 1, 3, or 5, as those are where most published adventures begin.
