[LFP] [Bluebeard's Bride] [21+] GM seeking 3-4 players for a one-shot Monday November 11 4 p.m. PST (GMT-8).

[Ages 21+ Only] The Game Bluebeard’s Bride is a ttrpg of supernatural horror set in a familiar fairy tale. The tale starts simply enough: one room in Bluebeard's house is forbidden to the Bride. She eventually falls prey to her curiosity and opens it, discovering gruesome evidence that reveals her husband to be a killer of women. The game you play is different--you and the other players explore rooms of Bluebeard's home as his Bride, creating your own beautifully tragic version of the dark fairy tale and deciding whether you are a faithful or disloyal wife. Bluebeard’s Bride is built around the Powered by the Apocalypse engine used in Apocalypse World, Dungeon World, Monsterhearts, Masks, and more. It’s a simple system: when your character takes an action that fits a move, the move tells you what happens, or you roll two six-sided dice to find out. Since this is a horror game, the designers have modified it so that the majority of moves use no dice, which hearkens back to telling ghost stories around the fire. If you enjoy dark fairy tales or adult feminine horror fiction like Crimson Peak, American Horror Story, or The Company of Wolves, this may be the game for you. The Time Monday, November 11 at 4 p.m. PST, and I expect the game to last 3-4 hours. You can use World Time Buddy to convert to your local time. The Players I'd like to run the game for 3-4 players. While this will be my first time playing Bluebeard's Bride, I am happy to teach you how to play, so no previous gaming experience is required. What is required is at least a base level of buy-in, which itself requires a degree of vulnerability. As the designers tell us, "Bluebeard's Bride is designed to push the limits of your intellectual dark side and exercise everyone's twisted imaginations, but that means there is the possibility to get emotionally overwhelmed or upset by that content. Violence against women and a lack of agency are examples of two recurring themes that your group may or may not be in the mood to explore." To that end, if there are certain elements that you would prefer not to appear in our game (for example, violence against children, animals, or the elderly), please feel free to let me know either here or in a DM. By that same token, if you have certain themes or imagery that you especially hope to explore, let me know that too! Another safety tool we'll use is a stripped-down version of  Brie Beau Sheldon's Script Change . I won't personally use the specific language of Pause, Frame-by-Frame, Rewind, etc., but just know that you can always request breaks, revisions, and careful treading without any explanation needed. If you feel uncomfortable speaking up to the group, you can DM me instead. We'll use Discord's voice chat to communicate in English. Please keep background noise to a minimum and mute yourself if you need to eat, sneeze, have a side conversation, etc. Sound fun to you? Have any questions? Leave a message here, head over to the listing , or send me a DM!
One slot left! Also, if you're interested in playing but can't make this specific time and day, send me a DM as I'll definitely run this game again in the future.
