[LFP][D&D5e][TEXT ONLY]Curse of Strahd

Can you unravel the mysteries of Ravenloft? Under raging storm clouds, and against the backdrop of the ever present fog, the Count Strahd von Zarovich stands silhouetted against the ancient walls of Castle Ravenloft. Rumbling thunder pounds the castle spires, and the howling of the wind increases as he turns his malevolent gaze upon the village of Barovia. A lightning flash rips through the darkness, but Strahd is gone. Only the howling of the wind fills the midnight air. The master of Castle Ravenloft is having guests for dinner—and you are invited. Good day friends, I'm interested in setting up an ongoing campaign, and since winter is setting in, now seems like the perfect time. I've been reading through the 5e adventure Curse of Strahd and am absolutely geeked out to give it a try. However, having run many games here before, I'm a little weary of starting in and having to sort through a whole slew of players until I find some that are committed to the game. Let me first lay out what this will look like... - New players are welcome, and encouraged - I'm figuring to play on Sunday evenings 3-4 times per month. I hesitate to say weekly cause there's always that one night we have to postpone. Sessions will last about 3 hours and will start around 5-6 pm pacific time. - We will use the core PHB rules only, and I'll share the full PHB with you through roll20. - Players should be willing to commit to working as a team. Of course, conflict is fine but the lone wolf or the anti-social characters (I'm sure everyone knows what I mean) just make it too difficult. Further, I just don't enjoy running those kinds of games. - No evil alignments to start - There is an underlying premise to the game, and there is at least some expectation that players will be willing to strive toward the greater goals of the adventure. This isn't full on sandbox, and has some structure. - Mature content is possible so only those 18+ should consider this fantasy horror adventure for characters of level 1-10 (or so). I'm sure there's more, but most of the rest is just fine tuning the details. If you've read the above, and are interested and are ok with a dark on the edge gaming experience, you'll probably wonder how to show interest. I'm hoping to start on next Sunday the 17th, so we'll need to have some discussions between now and then. Please send me a PM and include an acknowledgement that you know this is a text only game and that you're over the age of 18, your experience with rpg's,and a brief description of the kind of player you see yourself as. I'm thinking to invite those that show interest to another gaming room where we can chat a bit and see how we hit it off. Unfortunately I'll have to only invite some of those that show interest. It's the part I always dislike. Thanks for checking this out, feel free to hit me with any questions you may have.
