Original concept: Sitting at this table in a busy inn you look around at your companions and reflect on how you have ended up here... You and your companions all grew up together in the same small rural village. The village, Roc Falls, named for the small waterfall nearby, was not a real place of note, a small farming community with a single inn for travelers. It was on a lesser traveled path that continued on towards the Giants' Mountains of Fire. Growing up you would often heard to the inn when travelers passed through to hear tales of the outside world and of the deeds of adventures. Old Owen, a retired wandering Bard, would often add these tales to his own and share what he knew of the local village hero Erwin, Adviser General of Global Consolidated Retrieval Services, one of the most famous adventuring companies within the land. Through these tales you all learned of how the Empress, sick of good men going out on epic quests and ending up dead, created the adventures guild. She decreed that unless you were a member of the guild you were prohibited from profiting from adventuring and that those that were members must pay sufficient tax on their findings. At first since membership was so expensive only the lesser nobles sort to buy licences ( the greater nobility just didn't care). Over time some of these young lords started to join together to stop the lesser classes joining the guild, they formed the Kingdoms Noble Outstanding Band of Seekers. Erwin while travelling to the capital, encountered a group from a foreign land looking for adventure. Erwin explained the laws of the land to them and guided them to the capital where, to the surprise of the K.N.O.B.S were able to secure an adventuring licence. The group petitioned to the Empress how a franchise style model could make her more money. This infuriated the K.N.O.B.S who have been trying to take down the company for the last 10 years. Having served your basic apprenticeship in your chosen profession you returned home and with your companions decided to travel to the capital and partition to join the ranks of Global Consolidated Retrieval Services. So know you find yourself sitting at a table in this inn with the others discussing what time in the morning you should rise to present your self at Head Office..... The party has since moved on and have lost a few members due to well death... As a group the players are requesting an additional player that can play Friday nights start ~8pm GMT - ~10pm GMT but depends on the session. Currently there is a bard, a rogue, a warlock and a druid in the party. Character creation point buy - phb +2 allowed, currently level 2. Message me or reply here if interested.
