The Non-native English Games

Hi, I would like to GM for a group of non-native English like me in order to practice it while enjoying RPGs. Pathfinder 2e is my first choice, having the adventure Fall of Paguestone ready. I am open to other more conversation centered games however, like Dungeon World, The Sprawl, Blades in the Dark, or FATE. I propose short sessions of 1.5h once or twice a week. I’m available from 18:00 to 20:00 GMT from Monday to Friday. My English level would be B2 for the most part, B1 for spoken production, according to https://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/resources/european-language-levels-cefr Are there any other non-native English interested? Native speakers are welcome, of course. But you kind of should love listening to a bunch of people struggling to communicate with funny accents. Anyone willing to play respectfully is very welcome!
Hey Sines, I would be very interested ;) I'm sending a PM.
I used to tutor english as a second language. And while I would commonly be helping write papers for Asian people I often found correcting speach and teaching people how to better understand my confusing language (english) as really rewarding. If you would be willing to have a native english speaker and the time works out I would love to join you all.
Well, that looks like a nice project. I am currently looking for a group to play in (at the moment, i am just GMing) and it sounds challenging. I am a native Italian speaker, if the project is not too ambitious or long i would jump in 100%. I Send you a presentation PM, answer there if interested.
Great! Would be next Thursday 18:00 GMT ok for you? Belenus it would be great to have you. Giuseppe, this is an experiment so I am not aiming to anything ambitious. The adventure may extends more than usual however, because of the short sessions schedule (1.5h), and the communication handicap. Anyway, there is no commitment: we will see how it works out. Thanks!
Hi! Are you still looking for players? I would like to try playing in English but it's intimidating to play with native people when you are not. My time zone is GMT 0. I haven't played Pathfinder 2ed. But I have read the first edition manual and have played some D&D and Dungeon World. I have the manual for the second edition so I can take a look at it. My English level is around B1. I can understand better than I speak because I don't have many chances to practise. I think this would be the perfect opportunity, learning while I do something I like a lot. Thank you!
Hi Beatriz! That's true. But this is different, as any native willing to play would know from the beginning that most of the party isn't fluent in English. So, it would be benefiting instead of intimidating! Anyway, I stopped the initiative here for the moment. I'll retake it in the future for sure. I would reconsider to do it sooner now that you are interested. 18:00 to 20:00 GMT+0 fits you? I've just started a similar initiative with only Spanish people which you may find interesting. I'll send you a PM.
Hello, my people! I'm a non-native speaker, too! Alas, most people never learn this over text. Not that my accent is that bad, but still.... Not here to join your judgement free games (great idea, as it is) but to inform you there's a Roll20 community for Europe-based players and GMs where you can find or advertise your next game. We have plenty of Scandinavian people and some Southerners like myself, too. On top of a healthy dose of British and American native speakers. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/182278/greenwich-meridian-dungeoneers Check out the listing and send me a PM if you are interested in joining. Ciao.
Hello, Sines, Here is a brazilian who scored a B2 as well. The idea of practicing english while role playing is most interesting. I am at BRT, which means GMT -3, and available most of days, most of times, since I run a business here, and have a good flexibility on my schedule. So far, I've played GURPS, Shadowrun and Dungeons and Dragons only. But count me in to dig into a new system. If you still have some empty slot on this tabletop, I'd be pleased to apply to it. Thanks and best regards,
Hi Marcos, sorry I have this game stopped for the moment. Please let me PM you once I reactivate it. Salty, thanks for the info! I'll PM you to join the European community.
