[LFG] [Vampire: The Masquerade 5E] Looking for Players interested in learnign the game!

Good Evening all! Have you always been curious about Vampire: the Masquerade but have not had the opportunity to try it? Perhaps you are a fan of the Bloodlines or Redemption games, or have been watching the LA by Night live-cast and it sparked your interest? Or are you tired of all of the High-Fantasy/Swords and Sorcery games that seem to be saturating the market and you are looking for something a bit different or perhaps a bit darker? If you are, then look no further! I have been an avid fan of World of Darkness for a number of years and while I have run the gammit of different games I always seem to get pulled pack by these dark and disturbing system and with the newest edition being tested and enjoyed by many seasoned players of the game and with the sequel to Bloodlines just a year away. I have been seeing more and more interest of people wanting to try the system out, but have so little options for available games. Therefore I decided to throw my years of experience into the ring and offer those who have that desire to play the game! Now before I get swamped with requests there are a few things I want to make clear so that people come in with a clear expectation of what this is going to be. This is not a long planned Chronicle : I am planning to have this be primarily an introductory story that will last anywhere from 8-15 sessions in order to people to get their feet wet in the world of Vampire. Perhaps it may end up going beyond that, but for right now that is the expectation. Schedule : I am planning on this being a Bi-Weekly game which will start this Sunday (11/24/2019) with a Session 0 and the following weekend being the first official session of the game. Session will be in the Afternoon starting at 12:30 CST and go for 3-4 hours. Session 0 may be a bit longer. English should be your Primary Language : I know it sounds a bad, but in truth my hearing is not what it once was and I have had enough difficult experiences with heavy accents to tell you that my short-comings prevent the game from being fun for either party. Mature Players Only : The World of Darkness and Vampire is a game about Personal Horror; the nightly struggle of being a monster and keeping your desires at bay. So I asked that only 18+ players who are interested in exploring these themes inquire to play. There will be Dark Themes : There is a reason why this is called the World of Darkness. You may see the following things in the game Blood, Gore, Violence, Religious Iconography and Behavior, Verbal Aggression, Fictional Bigotry (Vampire towards Humans), Abusive Relationships, Alcoholism and Substance Addiction, Paranoia, Bullying and Shaming, Homelessness, Criminal Actions. The following will NOT be present in the game. Sexual assault and violence, racial violence, overt real-world bigotry and intolerance (use of racial slurs, homophobia, transphobia, etc.) As long as these are comfortable with all these things and you are still interested in playing, by all means send me a PM or let me know here. Thanks and hope to play with you soon :-)
Just stopping by to say I wish I could play. Weekends are way too booked for me. I'm a long time gamer and played the very first edition of masquerade. I've been wanting to run or play a masquerade game but wasn't sure if I should use the 20th anniversary edition of the 5th edition. It confuses me :D Anywho, if you end up keeping a session journal or something I'd love to read through it. I'll stay in touch.

Hey Stebils, Scotsmen  here keen to play some V5.  I got into TTRPGS about 3 years ago, mainly playing D&D 5e and other dungeon crawlers/monster killing sims before breaking off to play more narrative focus systems like City of Mist, Mask, monster of the week and Kult. I haven't had much experience with VtM other then the video game, but since picking up the V5 book I'm very intrigued to learn more about the world of darkness, I love the combination of weird characters and vampire politics.    Hopefully you'll consider me for this game.
Hey i'd be very interested in giving it a go, i'm Irish so the time and stuff actually works really well for me. I loved the first vtm game and have been super into looking forward to the sequel (followed the ar thing with tender and the twitch streams)
Sweet. I hope we can get a few more to get this ball rolling!
I've got interest in this game. I do have a couple of questions: - What kind of game are you planning on running? - What is your expectation from players? - I'm guessing the Sunday time-slot is set in stone?
Kintsugi said: I've got interest in this game. I do have a couple of questions: - What kind of game are you planning on running? - What is your expectation from players? - I'm guessing the Sunday time-slot is set in stone? Excellent questions. 1.) That will depend on the players. I have been a adamant believer that games like Vampire are player driven. So whatever kind of story the players are interested in experiencing (Street level gang war, Corporate level power-plays, Fiefdom defenders, ect.), that is what we will do. 2.) My expectations from the players is simple. I ask that everyone participate in the game, have a Mature mindset when confronted with mature serious themes, and most importantly have fun. During session zero we would explore more in detail and if there is anything that dose not sound interesting or enjoyable to you, then there is no hard feelings. 3.) My work schedule and personal obligations have set Sunday as the day I am available to run things, but the time is negotiable. Hope that answers your questions :-)
Thanks for answering all these questions! I'd like to keep my hat in the ring for this game. I've got over a decade (getting close to 13 years at this point) of role-playing experience across different systems and group dynamics and pretty much what you mentioned thus far has piqued my interest. I should be able to rock the current time-slot and especially on a bi-weekly schedule.

Hey Stebils, I love WOD and own many of the books, but unfortunately have never found anyone who is running a game (because I didn't want to play my first game as GM) who doesn't have a long time play group. I am super interested, and would love to play in your game. The time works very well for me, especially biweekly. I am somewhat new to the Roll20 client, I hope that won't be too much of an issue. Please consider me for your game! P.S. - Would we be playing the V5 edition of Vampire: the Masquerade or are we playing Vampire: The Requiem?
Hi Xaxus! We would be playing V5 as it is the newest edition and most likely the one you will find long run games for.
Hey man, I would love to join and play. My only WoD experience is with 20th ed Vampire but I do own and have read the V5. Hit me up!
Hi there, Stebils! This sounds right up my street. I've been RPing for about 30 years now (bit of a gap in the middle), but I still remember playing VtM 1st edition when it came out (I was in school at the time) and have been in love with the World of Darkness ever since. I've GM'd a lot of WoD games over the years, but rarely had a chance to play. I'm in GMT here, so a Sunday evening game every other week sounds ideal.
