[Weekly Downtime Thread][Fall II 1524 HC]

Please post any of your downtime activities below. You can find the full rules for downtime here . You can find last week's downtime thread here. Always remember to be specific about what downtime action you are taking! If you're leveling up type that in your post labeled as OOC! If you're looking into an item be specific about where that item is from, what mission, when you got it, who from, etc. If you tell me "I read that book I found" I am going to likely have no clue what you are talking about. If you are learning a language, or tool make sure to write down how many weeks you have been practicing! This lowers the DC, and gives advantage depending on the number of weeks. Also a reminder players only get one main downtime action per week.
Jannis:  Travels to the forest of the Rohrmarch, in search of the court of Furst Oden Rohr.  Upon arrival, Roland requests an audience with the Furst and his advisor, Kurt Warkinde.  He will do so via the the palace steward or the guard chain of command. "My name is Jannis the Red, Son of the Rohrmarch, Giant Scorpion Hunter, Ally of the Sultana of Binsada, Friend of the Snakewomen of Low Asarwe, Owlbear Slayer, and Bandit Bane.  I seek audience with Furst Oden Rohr, rightful heir of the Rohrmarch, and his trusted advisor Kurt Warkinde.  I am here to discuss the future of the Kingdom, and to pledge my service to the true King." OOC:  If it is okay, I'd like to do a short RP session for the discussion if 1) that is allowed in the downtime and 2) I'm granted the audience. Roland:  Will continue to loiter at the Arcanum, given he is broke and is waiting for an opportunity to join an expedition to make some money. Savas:  Savas spends the week in the sewers of Hollingholmen, examining the effect of the ratkin transformation upon his body, surveying the area for any weaknesses in the security or the Rat King that could be exploited, and maintaining his cover as one of the Rat King's loyal servants.  Will try to determine what is the source that allows magic to be cast in an otherwise magic barren area, if it is within the sewers.  
Robert : Rob will be looking in the library for stuff that is related to Kartathok, mainly who this supposed deity is and what tenets it stands for. If possible, he'd like to learn about the relationship between these cave Sidhelian in Daikhar Zhigun and Kartathok as well. Eirena : Eirena, after getting over the mission, will look for cases of transformations from one race into another that have happened in the past and ways to reverse it, so probably some historic medical books or books about transmutation in the library of the Chort.  Shango : Being very proud of himself, Shango will be spending some time drinking at the Cohort Tavern, spending up to 1 GP, as he will have to start saving for the monastery. 
Hedrin: Level up to 4, He will stay at Daikhar Zhigun and ask Kallen Pickbiter if they would train him in the ways of a true Dwerren taking the Tough feat as he increases his hardyness and his somewhat decent muscles begin to show and he looks a little less spindly. He also asks the court mage to train him in Dwerren magic, taking a level 2 spell enlarge/reduce. Lolgon: Stays in the Sirens domain and attempts to learn their sign-language and attempt to build relations between Weirech and The Siren as an emissary.  Gundle: Level up to 2, trains with his brother and performs in various bars enhancing his musical skill. Korak: 1)  As promised he will build Cordie a badass hat using leatherwork for the main material, forge cleric channel divinity to make the clasps/buttons, and dying the leather to match her outfit. It is similar to the one she had, only now it has some spots for her fluffy ears and has the ability to be unbuckled to become a single tent for someone of her size, hopefully not weighing too much. 2)  He will look over and Identify the dice from the cave for Drago. 3)  He stays in Urkenhame finds an evening to sit and talk/eat with Silver and has a conversation about her history, the other two dragons in drachenward, and if she has ever met Moradin when he was still around and what she thought of him. Korak seems to hang on her words and will perk up from his usual annoyed face whenever she is in sight. 
Ingram: While focusing on dealing with his missing eye, he has a breakthrough regarding the understanding of Magic. He completes his training as a Wizard and goes to Presphine's to buy a blank spell book, the special ink required to write down and copy spells, and integrates a simple arcane focus into a heavy duty gauntlet. Ingram feels hesitant to go back out into the field, but is itching to gain practical experience with his new abilities.  OOC: Wizard multiclass week 3/3. Taking a level in Wizard! Ezren Drakkar:  Ezren arrives at the Cohort Arcanum and settles in. He's used to the stares he gets when he enters a new location with his draconic visage on display. Ezren starts to get a feel for the grounds, speaks with some other newly recruited members, and even gets a sparring session in. Ezren makes it a point to return to the edge of the Sielwode to check in on the Faithful and to mediate with them.  OOC: Since he hasn't gone on an adventure yet, he'll just familiarize himself with the Cohort. 
Teresa Eirwen: Teresa searches the Cohort library sections about powerful awnsheigh looking for records and information on The Medusa. Mainly trying to find her strengths, weaknesses, and if there's a way to reverse her stone curse. (OOC: Research on The Medusa) Cordie: Cordie actually keeps to herself a lot, which may be felt by a marked decrease in annoying occurrences around the guild halls. When she is seen, she doesn't seem to have acquired a new hat and seems to be in a huff with her spell book. Some days she's in the library sections on the Feywild. She originally intended to look for other means to access the Feywild, but after meeting with Prudence, she opts to help her learn about Alseids and changes the focus of her research to those: places they can be found, their abilities, attitudes or history. She'll also pick up a new pearl for a second attempt to identify the magic drum. (OOC: Research on Alseids. Minor - Attempting Identify on Magic Drum from Sharpclaw's lair)
Bellasaar  will level up to 5 and aquire a revivfy tattoo from Korak. Drake  research ways to bypass the leyline restrictions and/or pursue any he has time for
Diesa Gemfire Location: Halls of the Cohort, Island of Fabrica Research: Diesa searches the libraries and records of the Cohort, narrowing her examinations down to transmutation and transformation sections and references, looking for information on magic that turns people to stone, how to prevent it and how to undo it. Other: She writes a letter home to her parents and family, keeping up with them and informing her mother than she might be able to stop in and make another visit before winter arrives. Galena Abanâthu Location: The Siren's Realm, Port Helen and Noran Other: Galena brings Prudence back to the Siren's realm to see the Druid Miarya and learn her techniques. And also to meet the Siren who is cool and they might be able to learn something about fey, hags and the leylines since the Siren mentioned something about them when talking about the hag. Will also take any letters addressed to Orithar to him in prison. Language: Will also try to pick up on the basics of Rjuven since she's been spending so much time in the Rjuven highlands and with Rjuven speakers. (1/4)
Brognir : Will keep training with Ingund and her difficult sheep in the Cohort to become a first level barbarian. (1/2 will be 2/2) Phage : Will go and find a place connected with her God and pray for guidance and offer a sacrifice to please it. (She will level up to cleric 3)
Prudence: will accompany Galena to the realm of The Siren, and on her advice take up as a student of the Firbolg Druid Miayra , to try and learn the prevention method of the 'rat plague' in Stjordvik. She would of course help as much as she can while there, and try to learn as much from the druid as she can about their shared craft. Portia: Will do her best to find out as much as she can about the Vault of Kong and where the rumours say it is, what dangers it could hold and what an expedition to find and take its treasures would entail. 
Darvius Alandre: In his down time he begins studying the use of Thieves tools with Nim. 
Asher: Final week studying with Orithar. (Week 3/3) OOC: Ready to level up/wizard multiclass
Zolis will seek carpentry work, eager to build something with his hands.
Agatha was going to spend her downtime just lazying around, which of course would not go down with stressed Prudence. A lot had happened around the Cohort and there was so much she wanted to do. Half ordered, half because she wanted to, Agatha spends her downtime in the library to research the Alseids and feywilds for her sister. She tries to find information on the whole transformation process, the thing about three hearts and the dagger they used. Then she tries to find more general information about their anatomy, society and dwellings. Lastly, due to recent events, Agatha tries to find out as much as she can about their connection to the fey and the feywilds. (Research Alseids and the Feywild) Nim sticks close to Mamm, like always when they are both home from missions. She keeps trying to improve her Rjuven as well as helping Darvius get a hang of the Thieves' Tools. Since Mamm got her rat features Nim has been very facinated with her tail and convinces her to try to use it to hold and lift things. She buys a little piece of twine and red ribbon that she twists together and fashions a ring out of for Mamm's tail.  (Learn a language)
Dragomir "Drago" Black: Will try and learn the ways of dragon magic off Silver however something is wrong and doesn't click. OOC: Level in Warlock Minor Action: Will also be getting Korak to find out what the magic dice are. Fenris Nathair:  level up: Stay with the old druid of the grove and find his own way to progress outside of Prudences training. OOC: Level in Druid Nubby Oddling:  level up: Pickpocketing the local drunks to increase his skill. OOC: Level up Siegfried Morton:  Rumor is that Katherine Windcatcher, a trader in exotic animals' boat (The Blind Date ) was destroyed by The Roc. He wants to see if he can find any information on the whereabouts of the ship. The last sighting and the place she was heading to try and locate where she might be.  Orithar Trisk: Will try and get a chess set for his jail cell to help past the time. To try learn how to play.
Mamm : When not helping out at the orphanage, Mamm will continue teaching Nim to speak Rjuven. Mamm will love Nim's gift, and be very grateful and plan to get Nim something. Nim's gift will make Mamm feel a little better about her change in body and she'll be a bit more like herself. Mamm will also check up on Teresa Eirwen, discover she's researching the Medusa, and aid her. ( Aid Teresa Eirwen Research on The Medusa ) Ant : Ant will return to The City of Stone's Rejoicing, and continue working at the brewery, though he will be noticeably a little distant, and will retire to his room without socializing after work. ( Working as a Brewer )
Shlar will be levelling up.  If the Cohort has a library and he can get access to it he will also be researching anything on the Gith they encountered, especially on their beliefs about chaos.  Also not sure if this counts as a downtime action but if it is allowed Shlar will acquire a shortbow + a quiver of arrows. If he needs to pick between actions then he will level up 1st, then acquire the bow and do the research last.

Jannis Jannis isn't able to get a meeting with the Furst. He is given the opportunity to write a letter. OOC: If you want to I would recommend writing a letter during your downtime. Currently I have to handle downtime for 35 characters, and that number is continuing to grow. I can't really start offering personal sessions to every character as a downtime action, or I'm going to end up running 10+ personal sessions every week (in addition to our normal 5+ sessions). If you'd like to go there in person I'd recommend organizing a custom mission. Roland Roland hears rumors that he is once again being hunted by The Mammoth Warrior! He seeks vengeance for Urkenhame! (see the campaign logs for session 41). Savas Apparently this Rat King is some sort of natural beast or awnshegh. It's able to draw the full magic from the area. Additionally the rats are carving out tunnels in the sewers, and making them more natural. This seems to be increasing the ambient magic down there by a small degree (trending towards 0/3). Robert OOC: There is no relationship between them and Kartathok. I'm not sure where you are pulling that from. Eirena Eirena mostly finds documents are about awnshegh turning into awful creatures. Actually in most cases famous heroes who defeat many evil creatures tend to accrue a large amount of Azrai's bloodline. Over time they slowly become monstrosities, and many of Cerilia's worst monsters were once famous heroes. It seems most people in this world either die a hero, or live long enough to see themselves become the villain. Shango Shango spends some time drinking, and relaxing at The Cohort. Gain inspiration as Shango is well rested for his next mission. Hedrin Hedrin is trained roughly on the ways of proper dwerren fighting. It's a rough boot camp, and on some days the pain is so extreme that it feels like he is dying. However by the end of it he is much hardier, and tougher for it. Lolgon Lolgon spends a week trying to learn sign language, but it's completely foreign to him. He makes more or less no progress. Gundle Gundle improves his musical skill, and slowly begins to get a better understanding of how to craft his magic into it. Korak OOC: Korak makes the hat. It weighs 8 pounds. Korak identifies them as Eloéle's dice. These dice are enchanted by the goddess to allow a slight bending of fate. They can be used as a one time luck point (as the lucky feat). After they run out of charges they turn back to dust (one charge remaining). She tells Korak about The Amethyst Dragon, and The Topaz Dragon. These two dragons are siblings who go by the names of Amie, and Tophoumos. They most keep to themselves, but both live off another type of magic that most creatures cannot even imagine. They're odd alien dragons that were born when the Moon mated with the morning Sun; which is also the reason why the moon produces light. Larmedylth tells Korak that there were many other gemstones dragons born out of this litter. She refers to Moradin as "only slightly less of a false god than the human ones." Ingram Ingram finally masters his magical abilities to the point where he is confident enough that he could use them on the battlefield! Presphine sells Ingram the book with red puffy eyes. She looks like she was crying pretty hard the night before. Ezren Ezren spends some time getting to know everyone, and going back home for some meditation. Teresa Teresa doesn't find much information on The Medusa other than that she used to go by the name of Madeline. Apparently something happened to her when she was still a child that made her the way she is. Cordie Cordie doesn't manage to identify the drums. She does however figure out they probably need to be used by someone who weaves magic into music. She discovers that Alseids came from a union between sidhelien and fey. They serve as guardians of not just nature, but also the gates that connect the fey wilds with Cerilia. They are quite powerful creatures and their powers and abilities vary wildly. They are not capable of mating, and instead recruit creatures into their ranks by offering them one of their hearts. Alseids are considered children (culturally) until they've been an alseid for at least 250 years. OOC: Just a reminder if you try to identify an item, and fail your check you cannot try again until your proficiency bonus increases (or you get special DM permission for some reason). Bellasaar Bellasaar improves his abilities, and gets a tattoo from Korak whilst getting used to his new form. Drake Drake discovers that he would need to learn leyline magic before even beginning to learn about wrestling control. This is exceptionally difficult considering few people know the art, and they usually aren't willing to teach it to outsiders. The only other well known way is to lose your mind, and become an awnshegh, or some other "natural" beast of Cerilia. Diesa Diesa learns that usually magic of the 5th circle is needed to reliably remove forms of petrification. Other common ways to get rid of it include using the creature's blood, or simply by having the creature in question remove the magic. From her research it would seem most likely The Medusa's blood probably wouldn't cure the condition. However she probably could remove the curse if she wished to. Diesa's mother writes her back telling her she is always welcome home. Galena Galena spends some time amongst the people of Port Helen. She doesn't learn much herself during this time. Rjuven is still pretty foreign to her. Brognir Brognir finishes his teachings, and is now confident in his ability to follow The Way of the Sheep. Brognir is You. Phage Phage's prayers are answered with a deep power from her god. Prudence Prudence spends some time studying, but doesn't quite master the technique. However Miayra tells Prudence that alseids can sometimes use druidic magic in unusual and unique ways. She tells the woman to begin meditating on the moon, and the pure light that comes from it. Portia Portia isn't sure of the exact location, but the rumors seem to imply that it lies somewhere with jungles. Probably one of the islands to the southeast of Cerilia. Darvius Darvius starts learning about how to manipulate the pins in a lock, but is still having trouble getting the technique down. Asher Asher finishes his learning with Orithar at Port Helen. Luckily the guards are kind enough to allow him to visit the imprisoned half-orog, but the situation makes it difficult to practice. Irregardless he manages to master the magic to a high enough degree to bring it into a fight. OOC: You will need to mark off living expenses for this week. Orithar is currently jailed outside of The Cohort Arcanum. Zolis Zolis manages to learn enough about carpentry that he feels he is proficient in the craft. Though he still has allot to learn. Agatha Agatha doesn't manage to learn much except for what she is taught by her sister. Nim Nim finally manages to master Rjuven! She spends some time teaching Darvius, but he's really bad at it. Like really bad. The tail experiments go well, and Mamm turns out to be able to hold small and simple objects with her tail. Dragomir Drago improves his abilities. He hasn't managed to get Larmedylth's teachings to stick yet. (see Korak's downtime). Fenris Fenris begins finding his own path when it comes to studying the ways of nature. Nubby Nubby snags a couple of silver whilst practicing his ability to pick pockets. Siegfried Siegfried asks around, and discovers that the ship was last spotted somewhere near Bleak Holm Isle. Orithar Orithar isn't granted a chess set. However he is granted visits from his student. At least it helps the time pass. Mamm Mamm and Nim have more than one heart felt moment during downtime. Teresa and her find a little bit of information on The Medusa. Ant Ant earns 72bp during his downtime. Being so distracted seems to keep him from doing good work, and making proper coin. Shlar Shlar spends his downtime improving his abilities. He's able to acquire the bow as well (at market price), but has no time to do research. OOC: Leveling up, and research are both downtime actions. You don't usually need to say you're buying items during downtime if it's something mundane. Just mark off the coin, and add it to your sheet.
