Scanned Hand Drawn Maps & Align Tool

I'd like to make the change from randomly generated dungeons to hand drawn ones, but I'm not sure how well the align to grid will work if I scan them. The grids on the paper are only 24.7 x 19.0 cm like you find in a standard Graph Composition book. Can anyone tell me if they have any experience doing this kind of thing and how well it works?

Align to grid is just the first step to aligning a grid map. After that you can make fine adjustments to align things. Here is a guide for that: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/3688/map-alignme... Assuming the grid on your paper is accurate it will match up fine. If you need further help please let me know.
I've used grid align successfully before on maps that were generated online at donjon but I'm concerned that I might draw a map too small to get it to line up without looking too bloated or weird. Was just wondering if anyone else had already gone through the trial and error or if I should just wing it until I get it right.

I suggest doing a test case. If you need help feel free to ask. :)
