Supermenace Part III

Recap: Supermenace III Paladin single handedly knocked out the three Bulettes that the cat-woman attacked the base with. She however managed to escape as Paladin called after her to give him her phone number. She did not. She did however dropped a map of the sewer showing several discreet entry points, the PCs base, and in the center of the map something called Glove Cleaner. Meanwhile in Metropolis a pair of neophyte super-heroines showed up at the hotel where the rest of the group was staying. They were sent by Cassandra Clemons are reinforcements in the pursuit of Superman Eradicator. Their names are Kismet and Manifold. They make preparations to go see Mr. J, which included Atticus setting up a direct cell phone link to Paladin so he would be aware of everything being discussed. When they get to the apartment that the Joker is using Dee-Dee lets them in and guids them to the living room where they find the Joker, Harlequin, Woof, and Bonk. The Joker has Harlequin get their guest drinks. She brings them a fruity drink with a slice of orange on the rim of the glass that has a slight taste of alcohol. She calls the drink a ‘Suicide’. The Joker tells them that he has Kryptonite, 20 pounds worth of the glowing material. Joker tells the group the Luthor offered a billion dollars for the kryptonite but the Joker would rather make a deal where he could commit (non-lethal) crimes in New York with impunity. Why? Because he would love to rub it in the faces of the heroes as they stood by and did nothing to stop him. The Brigade declined the offer but as a counter offer they suggested they would fight Superman and not use the Kryptonite for 45 seconds while sending the Joker direct feed of the fight for his amusement. Bonk said they should take Luthor’s offer instead. Joker directed Harley to explain his world view to Bonk. She knocked Bonk out. The Joker produced a lead ring-box from behind Woof’s collar and gave it to the group while Ghoul gave the group the frequency to transmit the fight on. They then parted. Paladin reached the ship. He named the robot crewmen that Xela’s father provided Hal. He asked Hal about the procedure to use the stargate in Jupiter’s orbit. The procedure is simple. Transmit the coordinates you wish to travel to the stargate control computer, transmit the account information in the amount of 20 (Thalok) Imperial Credit per kiloton to be deposited in the Imperial Bank. The Stargate by Jupiter is not in the Thalok Imperial Gate (TIG) network so there is no charge for using it. Earth is Red Zoned, no one would knowingly come here. Paladin is concerned that the stargate closest to where Krypton used to be isn’t free to use. He contacts Xela who gives him her credit information so he can pay any toll for stargate passage within the Empire. Atticus arranges for Luvendir (his alien friend) to come and provide technical support for the ship. When he arrives he exclaims ‘A GA1 Fast Courier! I didn’t know any of these were still flying! You people are braver than I thought.” He checks the Avionics and is impressed that the equipment is practically pristine. He praises Hal for keeping the equipment is such good shape. There are no hardware modifications needed on the sensor equipment to detect kryptonite, he adjusts the computer to filter out the background ‘static’ so the extremely slight emanations from the material can be identified. In exchange for  his help he only wants 1) A month of Cinemax, 2) A six-pack of beer, 3) a pizza, and 4) for Paladin to forget he was on the ship, in the hangar, or even on the planet. Paladin agrees. As he parts the tells Paladin to keep an eye on the Plasma Interface Intake Junction. They have a habit of going bad on the GA1 and the only warning you get is when you explode in a giant fireball. Paladin tells Hal to keep an eye on that! Paladin then calls Professor Hamilton to let him know that the rest of the Brigade will be coming by in the morning to have the kryptonite the Joker gave them checked to see if it is real. The Professor is so excited that he wants to meet them now! He has not has a chance to examine Kryptonite for years! He is, however, willing to wait for morning. The following morning the rest of the group goes to see Professor Hamilton at S.T.A.R. The kryptonite is fake. Manifold reveals that she has the power to open teleport tunnels anywhere on Earth. She opens one back to the Joker’s apartment. They find the real owners tied up in the closet of the Master bedroom. They are grateful for the release! They tell the Brigade that when the Joker conscripted their apartment he has his gang bring in a large glowing green dragon statue. Joker cut a small piece of the tail off and put it in a lead ring box. Then he did the same with a pebble that he painted green with luminous paint. He placed both ring boxes behind Woof’s collar. Placing a video call to Paladin they updated him on the Kryptonite situation. Paladin decides it would be a good idea if they had their own supply and dealt with the Joker later. Manifold opened a ER Bridge to Paladin’s location (using the visual cues from the phone) and the group reunited at the hangar. Next time…back into space!
Sorry, I left without saying anything last time. I had a bad day, and was getting a headache. I didn't want to interrupt, since it seemed like Gene and Andrew had a good roleplay going on. Hopefully, I'll be in a better mood next time :P
No worries! No one is perfect. Case in point: my abrupt decision to accept the invitation to dine with my wife and kids a few weeks ago. Thanks again to everyone who forgave my impoliteness that occasion.
