Hi Newbie here learning Roll20 and D&D5e. as a new player i'm using the official Source books and adventure modules to save time and understand how it should work. Love the automated features to drag and drop items to character sheet (using 5th OGL) but im confused as to how to use things like magic items from the SRD which are fairly generic such as spell scroll, sword of +1 etc. these items theoretically have multiple variations for example such as spell scroll of cure wounds or spell scroll of burning hands. how do people use spell scrolls in their games? is there an API? do you use a series of macro's? i tried creating a handout for the spell scroll cure wounds and added a link to the damage roll from the PC's character sheet. but if i remove the spell from the PC the link obviously fails. so i was thinking of a more direct link to the damage roll which would either be in the form of a macro or have a copy of the PC sheet (for same stats) with a link to the spell on that copy, but then i would need to do it for every caster. can someone help me make life a bit easier?
