Heya, Since my recent attempts to join a LFP group have failed one way or another I thought I'd switch it around and advertise myself as LFG. What I'm looking for: A dedicated group of 5-6 people to have some weekly D&D fun, so no West Marches kind of game but a set group. I prefer 5E but wouldn't mind learning a different setting. My ideal game would be 60/40 rp/combat but as long as it's not only hack'n'slash it's fine with me. I usually play good-natured characters and would like the rest of the group to be good oriented as well. I don't mind an evil alligned campaign/group as long as this is known beforehand so no complications between characters can occur. For example, recently played a Druid and suddenly our Mage declares she's a Necromancer out of the blue. Not killing her where she stood was very hard for my character. This being said, the characters don't have to be best friends, a little animosity between characters can lead to great roleplay, but actively fighting between players is a 'no go' for me. Also, I prefer playing seriously and I don't like playing with 'crazy' characters. If you follow the sneaking rogue around with a light and sing "We are sneaking, we are sneaking" or if you antagonize a large dragon when you're lvl 2 you're not the kind of player I want to play with. I see my characters as living beings and they don't want to die. And finally: Dedication. You make a commitment to other people and they count on you to be there. Surely, there's always things that happen IRL, like a wedding or a birthday, but if you're cancelling because you want to go to the pub with your mates it's not a valid reason in my opinion. Same goes for the sessions as well. If you're away half the time because you need to cook or look after children or something like that you're letting down the other members of the group. Regarding time, since I'm from the Netherlands (GMT+1/ EST+6) it's a bit tricky. On saturday I could play from early morning EST to about 8 pm EST (would be 2 am for me then). Since I can't make it that late on sunday, need to get up early on monday, I could go from early am EST to about 5 pm EST. What you get: I'm Daniel, 37, male, from the Netherlands (born in Germany, it's okay to laugh at my accent =P ). I started D&D with 'AD&D 2nd edition' when I was young, worked my way up to 3.5e but then had to stop. Started playing again a bit over a year ago with 5e. Still mix up some rules from time to time, but I wouldn't consider myself a n00b any longer. Like I said before, I'm a serious player but that doesn't mean I don't like to joke around and have fun. OOC I love to laugh, and IC as well, but just don't like character's actions to be weird/unnatural just because it's funny. I'm a bit of a sucker for rules, and if mistakes are made I say so (and if I make mistakes I would like to be told as well) but I would never argue with the DM about a decision, nor would I interrupt the moment by shouting out "No! You're wrong!" but rather mention it in chat (if it's not important for the moment) or a question on voice like "Wouldn't it be like this?" if the matter is more urgent. I don't mind homebrew rules (and even prefer some of them) at all though, as long as they're told beforehand. As mentioned before, dedication means a lot to me, and you can count on me being there for at least every 9 out of 10 games. I usually fill in the role of what the party needs, so any class is fine with me. I don't like metagaming but do tend to get the best out of race/class situations unless stat rolls were so good that I don't hinder myself (and thus the party) by going a bit off-standard. I do love to put flaws on characters though, and don't mind the DM 'exploiting' those in the most inconvenient times. I'm an open-minded person that doesn't mind 18+ stuff as long as it's not erp, but situations like brutality, racism and/or sexism aren't a probelm for me, as long as it's IC and not towards other players personally.
