Premise War rages on Uhines IV as General Faerghus betrays the legal government and turns the planets military against President Edelgard! The General had hoped to steal the capital just before the crippling winter months which would shield him from any counterattacks. Fate intervened when unknown causes sabotaged Faerghus' fuel bunkers and left him unable to coordinate his assault on time. Winter has set in and both sides hunker down to await next years Fall. Nine months is all the President has to rebuild a military and prepare for the coming attack. Tension is building within the underground bunker-city as spirits run high in the tight confines. Edelgard will need competent, loyal troops if she's any chance of keeping the peace and surviving the war. Saboteurs slink in the shadows. Propagandists litter the tunnel junctions. Anti-war protesters fight with stressed loyalists. And all throughout graffiti paints the walls: "Fall is coming." Campaign Info This game will take place on the planet Uhines IV which is in the middle of a Civil War. The planet experiences freak weather due to an unusual orbit around it's star. Winters are cold enough that even the oceans freeze. Spring brings mass flooding and the Summer is characterized by non-stop torrential rains. Only in the Fall, for three brief months, do things normalize. The characters will be soldiers in the army of President Edelgard trying to keep the peace and ultimately survive the coming war that everyone knows Fall will bring. I'm using one of the systems from the sector I created for my previous campaign. I know SWN is typically a space-sandbox system but this time I wanted to focus on just one planet. I created a Planet Map to replace the usual Sector Map, and have marked City's instead of Planets. The effect will be a planet-sandbox that plays the same as a space one. Just more grounded. I had envisioned a mission-of-the-week format but the players are starting to have side goals so we'll have a balance of missions from Command and player side jobs. I have 1 open player spot remaining. Session Info Time: Weekly, Thursday nights, 7pm-10pm EST. Audio: Discord. A microphone is required. Video: Discord. A webcam is required. System: Stars Without Number. A free version of the book is available on DrivThruRPG. It's fairly simple, most things boil down to rolling 2d6 (skill checks) or a d20 (combat). I ran this system for my family over the holidays and even my parents, who'd never touched an RPG before, were doing fine. Attendance: Take a moment to consider whether you can commit to 3 hours every Thursday night without regular conflicts. If you're interested in joining please post in the LFG forum . Include what it is you bring to the table and why this game specifically interests you. While the listing is active I'll make an effort to respond to any interest.
