[Weekly Downtime Thread][Winter IV 1524 HC]

Please post any of your downtime activities below. You can find the full rules for downtime here . You can find last week's downtime thread here. Always remember to be specific about what downtime action you are taking! If you're leveling up type that in your post labeled as OOC! If you're looking into an item be specific about where that item is from, what mission, when you got it, who from, etc. If you tell me "I read that book I found" I am going to likely have no clue what you are talking about. If you are learning a language, or tool make sure to write down how many weeks you have been practicing! This lowers the DC, and gives advantage depending on the number of weeks. Also a reminder players only get one main downtime action per week.

Dragomir "Drago" The Black Location:  Drachenward Before leaving the Cohort, Drago stopped by at Leana and tells her that too many members are scared of Cats and really could do with her training. He heads out to Drachenward to visit the village and see how everyone is getting on and to enjoy the last of the winter celebrations. He visits Larmedylth to see how her wound is healing from the cloak and to see how she is getting on. He tells her about the pseudodragon dragon he saw in the forest and if she has ever heard of it. After a few days of catching up, he asks if she would be willing to teach him the Draconic tongue. His reasoning is, he shouldn't be "cheating" with spells that enchant the tongue, even tho he knows them. Who else to learn how to speak proper high Draconic from but a true speaker. The word he will try and learn would be Larmedylth as a sign of respect. OOC: Learning Draconic with Larmedylth, Would it be possible to get the name for Larmedylth in Draconic? Orithar Trisk Location:  The Halls of the Cohort Arcanum on the Isle of Fabrica Orithar spends some time copying spells from the new spellbook. Coping Firebolt Cantrip - 50gp 2hrs (Said to treat it as a level 1 spell), Counterspell - 75gp - 3hr,  Non-detection - 75gp - 3hrs Total cost: 200 Gold and 8hrs. For the rest of his downtime, he goes back to researching spells. A way to pop out of existence would still be extremely useful. Given his dream he also is researching any protection against a dragon and their abilities may save his life one day. Any way of increasing warriors in battle are all areas of great interest during research.  OOC: Spells he is researching in order of priority are: Blink, Catch Dragon Breath and Thunderous Charge. I know I can only research one spell this is just what he is generally looking for in the cohort library. Once he finds one that would be his downtime.  Fenris Nathair Location: Adwyth Tallagh, Innishiere He wants to find out more about Innishiere and their current political relations to the surrounding Sidhelien lands. Cwmbbheinn, Rhuannauch & Coullabhie. He believes if the rulers were more united, the humans would never have taken the risk in invading in the first place. He will stay in Innishiere and try to speak with Faerie Princess, Lyra Greenleaf and any of the political figures in the area. He will be using the human's surprise aggression, Three realms invading from seemingly nowhere as a selling point for this necessity and Innishire defence of there lands as a sign of strength.  He has heard of the leaders: "The Sad Queen, Fiona Bragh" of the Rhuannauch. "The protector of the Coulladaraight, Rhiana Waynmuum" of Coullabhie & "The Aelvenking, Allan Alaigh" of the Cwmbbheinn. He wonders if the princess would be willing, to send an embassy to visit these nations in the hope of strengthing their relations. He dreams of creating a "season court" involving these leaders, so they can meet and strengthen ties. Creating a defense agreement, Aggression pacts, sharing knowledge and having a noble family son/daughters move to live in a different city. After doing what he can he will return back to the Cohort and speaks with one Cordelia Woodwytch. OOC: This is a long term project. I want to start the process of making a Sidhelien Nato agreement in this area between rulers using the recent human actions as the selling point. Starting with a defense agreement, this will be a hard sell but maybe getting them all together to just talk about the idea is a good start. This idea will be pitched to Faerie Princess & Lyra Greenleaf, He will seek their guidance on how to move forward. The moto for this campaign will be "Aggression against one us, is against all of us." Expecting this to use renown. Minor Action: What's the price of Ironwood Half Plate? RP'ed with Cordi in guildhall.  Nubby Becoming a cohort npc.
Diesa Gemfire Location: The City of Daugren in the Principality(?) of Grevesm ühl Diesa reluctantly decides to sell the prize stallion from the Festival of the Gathering of the Hunt and uses most of the proceeds to try and buy some property in the city; somewhere on the edge of the Dwarf Quarter thats nearest the main city gates. There she'll set up a tavern/public house catering to the travellers, caravaneers/merchants etc and welcoming of all city residents. She will offer the management, and therefore profits, to her mother Silde who has worked the Pickbiter Mission's commisary in the city and ran a Dwerren household for over 50 years so probably has a good head for it. Hopefully her small fame (1 all-Brecht and 2 in Grevesnmuhl specifically) should help get the place off to a good start and renown (7 with Grevesm ü hl) can help smooth over any bureacratic wrinkles. If everything goes to plan Diesa requests her mother pass on any news or interesting rumours while she is away and then makes preparations to return to cohort for another adventuring year. Galena Abanâthu Location: The Halls of the Cohort Arcanum on the Isle of Fabrica Research: Galena trawls the records and public libraries for information on Dragons. Specifically dragons of the sky, the stars, the night, or other dragon-like celestial entities - trying to identify the creature she saw in the shared vision. Any references to the Astral Dragon she will set aside given how certain Shlar was that the creature in the vision was not that one, however she will return to them if she can't find any other solid information in case some past scholar might have misidentified it as she did. Other: She will spend the rest of her free time with Amara if the Lamia is also free, telling her about the latest adventure in the tower of ancient tieflings and continuing to help master the use of crossbows for fighting and hunting with. Aubrae Trevelyan Location: The City of Ber Dairas in the Sultanate of Binsada - Modest Lifestyle Aubrae returns once again to Binsada and dwells near the Temple of Leira. She broods a little over the Noelan incident, knowing she could have handled it better - but then he was so irksome, and the evidence points towards being either an accomplice to murderer or atleast a thief so she doesn't exactly feel like she was wrong. She wishes Tala was still alive so she could get her councel but the nearest equivalent are the priests of Leira. Language: So she once again spends time with the accolytes at the temple trying to pick up the language. (Learning Basarji, 3/4 Downtimes spent) Other: Aubrae still occaisionally frequents the Cats Cradle, where she knows Elisheva and maybe a few others at least speak Anuirean. She watches the pit fights sometimes (so long as they're knock-out fights) and enjoys the varied artistries of battle on display and bets 15 stallions(5gp) on the champion to win. If they do she'll get an autograph if they're still being offered.
Robert Bossouri: Rob will spend another downtime to research on the topics of crafting potions other than Healing potions. It would be a great increase in his versatility, which is why he is quite invested in this research. In general, he will be looking up potions other than healing potions and how to craft them. One at a time. He will also give Orithar Trisk a healing potion, as Orithar had given him a healing potion out of his pocket. Rob finds that it is only fair that he repays this debt. ( OOC: Research on the topic of other potions. Week 2. ) Eirena Lightshadow: With Savas taking an increasingly important place in her heart, Eirena couldn't stop her rising curiosity about the culture, customs and language of the Khinasi. She will travel to Ber-Dairas, a place the Cohort had already ventured to many times and start learning Basarji there. ( Week 1 ) In her nighttimes without sleep, she will theorize about what an Ice Maiden would trade a thrall for. Probably will amount to some theories, but not much. ( OOC: Learning Basarji in Ber-Dairas, modest Lifestyle. ) Sithric Grimhildsson: Sithric will spend his time in Innishiere, where he happily partakes in the ritual of Sidhefriend to be turned into an Hanner-Sidhe, doing his best to learn the customs he should be following and new things that come with that new form. All his life he was alone and now he was not only part of the Cohort, but also a welcome Citizen of Innishiere. Life certainly takes quite some twists and turns. As part of his stay there, he will hope to be trained by the local bowmen, if they could spare him the time and refine his accuracy further to match that of the mythical "Elven Accuracy". He will also attune to the Cloak of the Northern wind. ( OOC: Sithric turns Hanner-Sidhe, attunes to the cloak and levels up to 4th level, taking Elven Accuracy as his feat instead of the ASI. ) Shango Bayu: Shango hasn't spent any time drinking recently. He is going to fix that, going to his favourite inn in Wolfgard. Telling Lythander of what had happened during his absence and spending up to 30 gp for drinks during his time there. ( Modest Lifestyle ) ( OOC: Just listening in on the latest Gossip and relaxing. )
Zolis: has been spending the last few months attempting refine his carpentry skills. He is proficient in Carpenter’s Tools and seeks to utilize those skills as a handyman in order to occupy his time. he asks for no payment beyond a home cooked meal and maybe a place to rest. Theq: has been growing accustomed to this strange new city. Though he draws a lot attention as a firbolg, he walks the streets with pride and attempts to sway the opinions of townspeople with his friendly nature.

Lindal: Lindal's action depends on how much he learnt from his last mission.  If he did experience enough to improve his skills, (Level Up), then that is what he will be focusing on.  If he did not then he will be continuing his studies in Reading and Writing, hoping to be able to actually write his own Log for the next month's mission. Shlar:  Shlar will be learning the Alarm Spell from the spell book, spending the 50 gold and taking the 2 hours to do so.  He will also be studying any books on Necromancy in the Cohort library for   Blindness/Deafness, and Ray of Enfeeblement. if he finds either or both spells he will copy them to his spell book.  For both it is 50 gp and 2 hours due to his arcane speciality.
Location:  The Halls of the Cohort Arcanum on the Isle of Fabrica Vincent spends some time settling in to his new home here on the Isle of Fabrica. He trades with Presphine for a Healing Potion. He looks around for someone who might be able to supply him with the tools he needs to keep his crossbows in tip-top shape.  OOC: If he has gained enough experience he levels.

Agatha Duskhart Agatha spends her downtime in Bardenhold with her sister and Emily. Other than playing, Agatha and Emily crafts and draws alot, but Agatha slowly loses her patience as she hates every drawing she produces. She ends up crumbling almost every paper she draws on and leaves a large pile behind, which her sister notices. She feels offended, but also happy, when Prudence finds her an art teacher. Agatha invites this teacher to her and Emily's drawing table, working hard on getting the image in her head to show up the same on paper. (Learning a tool: Painter's Supplies - week 1) Nim Mammsdotter Nim spends her days with Mamm and the girls, trying to not make the same mistake as last week she makes sure to entertain all the girls before she asks Anne to keep teaching her how to paint. (Learning a tool: Painter's Supplies - week 2)
Prudence  Location: Bardenhold, Abbatour - Roesone Prudence will spend another downtime in Roesone, and her home Bardenhold. She will ride out into the forest that has been untainted by loggers and try to find a place for a druid grotto that she can start working on as a backgroung project, whenever she is at home. She will mainly still try to learn Low Brecht from her sister Agatha. When she sees the pile of discarded drawings and notices the frustration that Agatha is in, she finds her an arts teacher and invites her to Bardenhold while she teaches Agatha the ways of the brush. ( Major Action: Learning Low Brecht - Week 3, Minor Action: Look for a place in the nearby forest for a druid grotto, and art teacher for Agatha ) OOC: If she can't look for both things she'd priorotise the Art Teacher. Portia Location: Cohort Halls - Island of Fabrica Portia will retreat to her room for most of the day, determined to learn the language and speak to Ant finally. She will eat in there and barely sleep until she gets it right, sometimes even crying out of frustration at what a stupid language Karamhul is and why couldn't it be something else. Of course she'd hide this from everyone and present herself as the cheery and enthusastic fighter everyone knows her as. ( Major Action: Learning Karamhul - Week 4 ) Berry Location: Cohort Halls - Island of Fabrica Berry will keep on being his sweet self around the Cohort, as soon as his wounds have healed from the battle with the vampire. He feels the need to train and better himself physically so that next time he can give a bigger and better hug to his opponents. He still offers an ear and advice to anyone who finds him, and as always his hugs are warm and soft. ( Major Action: Level up to Barbarian 3 [if sufficient xp] Minor Action: Counselling Cohort Members )

He spends his time there reading about transmuting objects and other miner arcane studies with changing the property of objects. Medi Eirwen Location:  Cohort Halls - Island of Fabrica Medi continues her attempts to accommodate Maddie's needs, though the child's strange tastes and hostile attitude make this about as challenging as her last mission to figure out. She hopes that the fact she keeps trying leaves some kind of impression on her at the very least. In her spare time she tries her hand at working leather into armour, crafting a child-sized set of studded leather for practice. If it turns out well she plans to gift it to Maddie and look into finding more interesting materials to work with in future.  (Major: Crafting Studded Leather (max Average) Week 1) Cordie Location:  Cohort Halls - Island of Fabrica Cordie starts to feel like her mental block is more of a curse than a blessing. She looks for someone who can help her, or show her how, to perform a ceremony of investiture. After chatting with Fenris, she plans to transfer her bloodline to him in exchange for the promise of being brought to the fabled Fey Hot Springs.  (Major?: Learning how to transfer bloodline, and transferring to Fenris if possible) Saorise Location:  Cohort Halls - Island of Fabrica Saorise keeps the cat, who she names Kira, with her at all times, which seems to keep her calmer. She'd stop in at Presphine's with her two mystery potions to see if she can tell what they might be. (Minor?: Asking Presphine about the blue and orange potions from Prince Hassan , session 76)
Ant Location:  Cohort Halls - Island of Fabrica While watching over his whisky as it ages, Ant practices his Anuirean to himself until he feels more confident about speaking the language. As he watches over the whisky, he gets an idea; to make his own bottle to put the whisky in. He finds someone to teach him Glassblower's Tools. Ant will also find Korak and ask him to give him one of his tattoos. He gets it on his arm, an image of an anchor  (Learning: Glassblower's Tools [Downtime Week 1]) Mamm Bealdaartsdotter Location:  Cohort Halls - Island of Fabrica Mamm will hang out with Nim as she practices her painting, and resupply Nim with paints when they're needed. Mamm will also buy some more appropriate paint for her and Nim's face. She Will also continue work on her Shortbow, as she looks after Nim. (Crafting Masterwork Shortbow [Downtime week 4/5]) Skag Polavich Location:  Cohort Halls - Island of Fabrica Skag will continue to shy away from his fellow Cohort members, and focus on his training. (Learning: Longbow Proficiency Week 4)

Korak (Major Action, Leveling Up to 6) Korak over the past few weeks has been using his body as a canvas to practice his tattoos, covering parts of his body with images of his adventures and of Moradins symbols. He remains ever faithful to his god and makes a pilgrimage back to Baruk-Azhik for his monthly sacrifice of metal to the church bringing home his old chain armor, shield, and some bits of extra mythril. He spends the week in deep prayer and feels attuned to the symbols on his body, feeling his strength grow from them. Heavy armor becomes a second skin to him and heat from the forge begins to feel like a summer breeze. His spiritual link with his god seems to greatly be enhanced and feels he can pull higher power more often in service of Moradin.  (Minor Action, Asking Leana what the hell she did to Drago) Korak approaches the woman before leaving to Baruk-Azhik scratching his head and looking quite annoyed. Hello there Madam Stillborn... so uh... I heard you did some training with Drago recently to release him from his fear of fire which I do appreciate. But what the hell is Drago going on about cats for? We came across the trail of some creature that had three heads that spewed great fire and left massive tracks and shites eight times my size! The boy was cocky as hell acting like he was chasing a kitten round the house and wanting to charge strait up the mountain where this beast lurked along with a Hag that can apparently pull blood from your body.... Now I am glad the boy is not being a coward anymore but now he is talking only about doing missions that would mean sure death for someone of our skill. Sure Drago is strong in a fight but he is no Kallanon and is going to get himself killed if he keeps acting like this.  Hedrin     (Hopefully getting restoration on his scars) Hedrin finally got himself cured and finally started looking normal and not have the gazes of pity upon him anymore. These scars bring back memories of the terrible days of being looked at something to be felt sorry for and becomes depressed at the thought of this. He travels back to Daikhar Zhigun and pridefully asks the king to remove the marks caused by an others blunder not wishing to wear the burden of their mistake on his face. He curses the zealous nature of some of the cohort members and their lack of wisdom always trying to deal with obstacles fist first. The boy stays in the halls after asking and assists the court mage in any way he can to be useful.
Salazar spends his time researching how to undo the curse of undeath caused by the Magic Drum. Cedrych continues to hone his woodworking skills (attempt 2).
Theodoric davenport, is training with a wizard trying his hardest to become a eldritch knight he is practicing day and night. (leveled up to 3 trying to learn his archetype)
Drago Dragon tries to learn draconic from Larmedylth, but she isn't around much. She's off dealing with official business. Her name is already in draconic. Orithar Orithar copies the books, but doesn't manage to find the spells he is looking for. He does read rumours of dragon slaying magic that can only be taught by a true dragon however. Fenris The Sidhelien already have allot of communication between themselves. They aren't willing to setup a formal alliance however due to their distance. Instead they choose to rule themselves quietly, and keep outsiders away. It's rare they invade, though not unheard of. They would need some real convincing to push for something like Fenris imagines. Unfortunately at the moment his words seem to fall on deaf ears. Nubby Becomes an NPC Diesa Diesa is able to setup a small public house, but that's about all her money can allow for (buildings are very expensive, especially in the city. A proper tavern would cost around 5,000gp). It gets off to a good start. Galena Galena finds tales of The Void Dragon a creature born from the colliding of two galaxies. It's a creature foretold by dragons to bring the end of Aebrynis, and all life itself. It's said that when it appears the dragons will finally be given the blessing of mortality, and stripped down to small humanoid forms similar to the humans of Cerilia. She'll spend the rest of her free time with Amara. Aubrae Aubrae finally learns Basarji during her downtime. She turns her 15 gold into 50 by the end of everything! She gets the autograph she wanted. Robert Robert discovers that potion making it all about experimentation! Grabbing some ingredients, and trying things to see what works! Eirena Eirena spends some time in Ber-Dairas, but hasn't managed to get a firm grasp on their language yet. Sithric Sithric finds himself with longer ears, a new cloak, and a new appreciation for the bow. Shango Shango listens around his favorite taverns in the area. He hears rumors that The Wolf has eaten the worm, and is weak! Some of the men prepare for a hunt! They'll finally slay the beast, and put an end to it once and for all! Zolis Zolis finds a place where he can enjoy a modest lifestyle in exchange for his craft. Theq Theq wonders around the town meeting many new people. He learns how to play dice from some stranger on the street. They steal a few copper from him in the process. Lindal Lindal levels up. Shlar Again, if you're looking for a spell it's that one spell. It's one research action to attempt to find one spell. If you want to generally browse the library in a certain section of magic you can do that instead. Shlar finds the Blindness/Deafness spell. Vincent Vincent improves his aim, and other abilities. Agatha Agatha has a bit of trouble with painting at first, but Kovanae is an excellent teacher who isn't afraid to teach through experience. Eventually Agatha gains a solid mastery of painting. Nim Nim learns how to paint from Anne. Her abilities are still growing, but she's making good progress towards being a master. Prudence Prudence gains a mastery over Low Brecht. She finds an art teacher for Agatha by the name of Kovanae. She's a gentle, and mute woman. Her art is strikingly beautiful, and Prudence gets the feeling the woman is an undiscovered master. Portia Portia finally gets a handle on Karamhul as all her hard work finally pays off. Berry Berry levels up, and consoles local Cohort members. Darvius Darvius finishes learning Midgardian from Salazar. Thorg Thorg continues to grow his anger and fury. Continually it seems he's molding it into a deadly weapon. Thugnuck Thugnuck attunes to his item, and trains to improve his skills. Brognir Brognir learns Karamhul (Midgard) from the other dwerren. Valravan Valravan continues his studies, and sees improvement in his work with transmuting objects. Medi Week 1 of crafting armour. Cordie Cordie learns the Ceremony of Investiture, and uses it to pass her bloodline down to Fenris. Saorise Presphine looks them over, but has no clue what they are. She tells you she's never seen anything like it. Ant Ant learns glassblower's tools very quickly, and gets a handle on their use immediately. Mamm Mamm finishes crafting her Great Quality Masterwork Shortbow. Skag Skag finally gets the hang of how to use a longbow. Korak Korak's meditations, tattooing, and prayers bring him a deeper connection to Moradin. Leana tells Korak she doesn't have any clue what he's talking about. Hedrin The King refuses to remove the scars telling Hedrin that they are honorable marks of battle. Salazar Salazar doesn't really find much information on how to remove the curse, but he does learn stories about a necromancer bard who incorporated music into his magic. He was last seen in the Five Peaks. Cedrych Cedrych learns woodworking skills. Theodoric I'll count this as week 1/3, but you need to find a real teacher. You can't just say "I find someone." Either find another player, or work with me to find an NPC to teach you. Also always include which week of progress you are on when post downtime.
