In the frozen north, a band of vikings are charged by their jarl to go raiding in an unforgiving world... We are an established group of 6 players looking for a DM to run our DnD campaign. After losing our last DM due to scheduling issues just as the party's saga was to begin, we're hoping to find a DM willing to work with us. We are an international group of mixed genders, and diverse sexual preferences and gender identities. We are very reliable; it's extremely rare that someone can't make it to the session, and then it's only for good reasons with forewarning. We have a pre-existing discord server ready to go. Organisational: - System: DnD 5e - Tools: Roll20, Discord (existing server) - Time slot: weekly, on Saturday (exact time tbd) - Player timezones: PST, EST, GMT, and CET What we look for in our campaign: - A low magic/low fantasy viking setting - non-humans and magic exist, but are rare and considered dangerous. - A generally serious tone to the campaign - light-hearted moments are great, but we'd prefer a serious overall feel to it. - A realistic, dark, and unforgiving setting, but not a gratuitously grimdark one - we can handle dark and mature themes, especially given the viking setting, but do not want gratuitous torture porn or Game of Thrones-style over the top sexual themes. - A focus on roleplay, story and character development - we as players are very invested in developing our own characters and also their relationships, both within the group and when interacting with the world. - Most importantly, a respectful handling of sensitive topics that may occur, and a respect for people's triggers (which of course includes our DM's as well). What we offer: - An established group that has played together and gets along very well. - Finished characters - although we are more than willing to restart at level 1 and redo our stats via point buy. - Invested players who are willing to do work between sessions, too - journals we wrote in our last campaign as well as player-only text-roleplay in between sessions are past examples. - Players who are more than willing to help with world-building - or to stay hands off, if the DM prefers. - Players who respect each other and the DM, and strive to work together and make sure everybody is comfortable and has a good time. - Players who are flexible, mature, and open to feedback. What we hope for in our DM: - No paid DM. - Someone open-minded and inclusive (bonus points if they are LGBTQIA*, but it's not a requirement, of course), respectful of everyone's identity. - Someone who will ideally become an equal part of our group and a friend, someone to chat and game with outside of sessions, or join us in one-shots as a player, too, if they want. - Someone easy to talk to, who respects their players (just like the players respect them) and is receptive to feedback - we believe in open, mature communication and mutual exchange of expectations. The bottom line is, we want this to be teamwork, something where everybody, including the DM, has fun.
