[LFG] [PAID] [18+] [5e] Dungeon of the Mad Mage: The Game Show

<a href="https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/190356/dungeon-of-the-mad-mage-the-game-show" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/190356/dungeon-of-the-mad-mage-the-game-show</a> &gt;*Welcome to the most popular game show in all of The Forgotten Realms, Dungeon of the Mad Mage! On this game show, we watch prisoners with life sentences take on the ultimate gauntlet; survive the trials of the mad mage and earn your freedom! But beware of the dangers that lurk beneath the mountain, as many monsters and traps will put a stop to you. Also be on the lookout for the Enforcers, as they will be paid handsomely for taking you out. See if you have what it takes to survive!* This will be a play through of the module "Dungeon of the Mad Mage" but with my own twist. Each PC will be a prisoner on death row and has taken on the challenge of going through the mad mage's dungeon. Survive to the end and earn your freedom. Think of it like the movies "The Running Man" and a little bit of "The Hunger Games". This module will take players from level 5 to level 20. ### Why pay to play? A paid game allows for the funds to go back into Roll20. Maps, modules, tokens, and other compendiums to further enhance the tabletop experience. The funds will go to other modules, campaigns, Roll20 Pro, Inkarnate for maps, etc. As a DM I also promise to be punctual for all games, with plenty of heads up time for a cancellation or last minute change. A paid game also brings all of the players together for scheduled times, so hopefully there are fewer dropped games due to lack of player attendance. ### DM Obligations: 1. I will have 2-3 weeks of my personal schedule available in advanced, so we can all get together and find a date/time that works for all. 2. Custom made tokens, handmade maps, Dynamic lighting(when it works), and music to set all of the scenes. A private discord server will also be avaliable to all players to plan the game, as well as to perform downtime activities between floors. 3. Fair in all rulings and willing to listen to player suggestions and go by the rule of cool. If we come to a ruling dispute, DM will make final call and we can look up the rule and discuss it later. Keep the game going! 4. Free session 0 to explain rules, backstory, character creation, etc. This is also where we we will discuss homebrew and UA stuff for character creation. 5. Will only accept payment after a session. If you did not enjoy yourself after a session, no hard feelings. We can discuss it and if you are not happy, you get a free session out of it and we go our separate ways. Payment will be sent via paypal after a game session. 6. Understanding for holidays, emergencies and other family obligations. Sometimes life gets in the way of hobbies such as this, and I understand that. If the group does a session without you, we can still do private 1 on 1 RP to get you up to speed. If a player needs to leave in the middle of a session, your character will be put on the backburner. We won't kill/steal/harass your character while you are gone. 7. Well prepared for each and every session. Maps, tokens, music, etc will be all set up in advanced. Little to no downtime while we run the session. 8. 3-4 hour sessions on average with a break in the middle. If people wish to keep going at the end of the session, we can keep on playing! ### Basic Rules: 1. Dungeons and Dragons is a team game at it's core. No PVP among the party. RP disagreements are alright but this is a team game. No stealing from each other. 2. Character Creation- All classes/races from official sources are allowed. Anything UA or homebrewed will be discussed with the DM first. Standard Array or 27 point buy. 3. All inclusive party, everyone is welcome. 4. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $3.00 a session. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Payment made via paypal. All sales are final 24 hours after a session. ### Mad Mage Rules: 1. Character creation can use any race/class from any published sources. No Variant Human. UA and Homebrew must be cleared first. Standard array or 27 point buy. Free feat at level 1. Start characters at level 5. Regular equipment and starting gold is fine. Backstory must include crime and reason for sentence. If you were falsely accused, what crime were you framed for? 2. You can be any alignment but must work as a team as players. No killing, harming, stealing from other members of the party. You can murderhobo other things if you want, but not each other. 3. Milestone leveling, based on floors/events cleared. This will probably be 80% dungeon delve 20% social RP, so plan accordingly. There is a HIGH chance for death. Get a few different character ideas in your head, since re rolling might happen. 4. Only the "Wish" spell can be used to leave the dungeon permanently . Spells such as "Astral Projection, Plane Shift, Word of Recall, etc" simply fail. Spells and magic items that are meant to banish others will also fail. Ethereal plane and extradimensional spaces function as normal. Magic that summons creatures from other planes works as normal. Spells cannot destroy or alter the shape of the dungeon. For example, "Earthquake" would not cause the dungeon to shift or cave in. Spells that contact deities and patrons function normally. 5. All participants of the gameshow are equipped with ankle monitors. These will magically shift in order to accommodate armor, shape shifts, etc. Any attempts to tamper with or remove your own or any other participants ankle monitor will automatically detonate it, causing the transgressor instant death. 6. At certain floors, Halistar Blackcloak(The Host of the show) will spin a wheel in order to change the upcoming floor. Perhaps the entire level is filled with water. Maybe all participants are forbidden from resting. Maybe it's a lightning round and the floor must be completed quickly or face punishment. 7. For the entire length of a floor, participant groups are allowed 4 short rests and 2 long rests. More can be attempted but who knows what lurks in the shadows. Special scroll items will allow the party to rest for free in pocket dimensions(Tiny hut, Mansion, etc). After a floor is completed, participants will be returned to the Yawning Portal Inn in order to rest up for the next event. Participants will be disarmed of all weapons and suppressed in a magic field during the stay in the tavern. Participants can then rest, barter, or watch another team during their trials. Who knows what you may learn. 8. Halistar Blackcloak has hidden various symbols around the dungeon, activating one will give the user a 50/50 shot at a Bane or a Bless for the next trial.&nbsp; 9. Beware the Enforcers. Enforcers are hired mercenaries to spice up the show! Defeating them may yield great rewards but they are said to be extremely dangerous. Hope to hear from ya!
Sounds interesting.... Are you still accepting players? I have a few ideas i would like to bounce off you if possible. Thanks!
