Monster Manual tokens don't populate with stats...

... and produce generic tokens when dragged from the compendium to the play surface.  After I drag from the compendium and get a generic token, I can then open the journal and drag the token I want from there to the play surface, but it is completely without stats, as is the generic token that appeared from the compendium.  I've seen many reports of this but all the threads I've found are over two months old and locked (some going back years...) Was there a fix for this that I can access? Very frustrating to have purchased based on the 'stats fully filled out' description.

If you already had a version in your journal, dragging another one out from the compendium won't overwrite it (to preserve any custom alterations you have made).  Try deleting something that is in your journal, then drag a fresh version of that exact monster out from your compendium.  Hopefully that will get the version you are after.
Also, be sure that you have the 5e D&D by Roll20 character sheet assigned to your game.

I appreciate the reply - tried that, to no avail.  Rabulias said: Also, be sure that you have the 5e D&D by Roll20 character sheet assigned to your game. This was what I was missing - thank you for the puzzle piece; items seem to work correctly now.  Thanks!
