Pathfinder Question: I want Traits that impact Rolls to be automatically detected and applied.

Pathfinder Question: I want Traits that impact Rolls to be automatically detected and applied.  Ex:  the INIT roll.  It is formed from the Dexterity modifier + Misc. If I add the Trait: Tactician (which adds +1 to all initiative rolls) how do I get the Character Sheet to recognize the +1 value and associate it with the INIT.  At the moment, I make a note and enter the +1 into the Misc field, manually. But - is there a way to direct the value to the correct field?   My GM dashed off a note that said "Yes, use this... @{VARIABLE_NAME}" Great, but I have no idea of where to use it, or how. Help? Examples would be very appreciated.  Thank you.

Hi M S., Which Pathfinder version and sheet are you using? PF 1e community, PF 1e official by roll20, PF 2e official by roll20, or another...?  Each sheet uses different attributes.
Thanks Vince.  PF 1e official by roll20.   I think. Any way to verify that? I do not see it conveniently splashed across the top.  The footer mentions Paizo.  M

In your game settings page, how is the sheet titled?  Or a screenshot would give a clue.

Ok, that is the Pathfinder by Roll20 sheet.&nbsp; If you haven't checked it out, there is a wiki page for it here:&nbsp; <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Pathfinder_Official" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Pathfinder_Official</a> If you hover over initiative, there will be a cog to click on to expand options.
Thanks.&nbsp; I am familiar with the cog wheel and the way it is calculated. What I'm trying to find out is how to make a feature/trait&nbsp; that adds a +1 to this do it automatically. So I don't have to manually enter it into the misc field. Possible?&nbsp;

You can create a buff

No, this sheet is already pretty heavy with automation, but automatically detecting a bonus from a trait and plugging it in is beyond what it is programmed for. You mean for a buff!&nbsp; I would recommend you avoid building buffs for "always on" bonuses that won't ever change.&nbsp; This is so that you don't have the sheetworker scripts always tracking something they don't need to.&nbsp; But if you wish to do so, go for it.

Wouldn't the only time the sheetworker would re-calc is if the buff(s) were toggled?&nbsp;&nbsp;

I'm not sure.&nbsp; I know I have seen that recommendation to avoid adding something as a buff if it would be permanent and never changing, but can't remember now where I ran across it. Actually, it is on that wiki page: When to not use a Buff When using a buff, remember that the goal is to provide a temporary bonus to add to a stat on the sheet, and the said stat might be used to calculate another stat. Using too many buffs might slow down the sheet (hence the game), and/or ending in unattended results, mixing too many interacting stats (and not in the correct order, if using formulas, see below). Edit:&nbsp; Another thing to think about is that the initiative bonus set up as a buff uses the temp entry, so will conflict with any temporary bonus you may wish to add manually to that box.&nbsp; If the trait is added in the entry exposed by the cog, that reduces the chance of future conflicts.
I was hoping to avoid using a Buff because of the Always On component of the trait.&nbsp;

Yeah, so add it under the cog and forget about it.&nbsp; It will be there.
