[LFP][Pathfinder] Varisia: As Fate Would Have It - Open World/Sandbox - EpicCampaign - Fridays

Part 1: As Fate Would Have It Varisia. There are some places in the world of Golarion that civilization has not quite reclaimed. The reason for this varies from unfavorable climates, the presence of demons or angry dragons, or even the remoteness from normal trade routes can keep a region shrouded in mystery for decades. One such place is Varisia. Nestled between the massive 400-hundred mile long cliff called Stoval Rise to the east and the mushfins to the south, the inner sea to the west and The Lands of Linnorn Kings to the north, Varisia is a wild frontier covered in a low lying mountain range, rugged forests and bush lands, foggy moors and calm lakes. The largest cities are empty, ruins of the decadent but long dead Thalosian empire. Even the ghosts have moved on from this desolate place. True, there a a few pinpoints of civilized life here; proudly independent towns of Magnimar and Sandpoint, and the thieves den of Riddleport survive, even thrive, off the lost coast, in large part because the sea trade is quite lucrative. To the east, a decadent city known as Korsova, crumbling under the weight of its own indolence and corruption. Yet, the domains of these cities stop just outside their walls. Varisia belongs to the Varisia of wilderness and truth. Its people are wanderers by trade. The native Varisians who travel the land in colorful caravans sleep under a different star every night and pay homage to Desna, the godess of travel, dreams and luck. And above everyone, on the Stoval rise, a race called the Shoanti wage a bitter endless war against the monsters of the forest and hills. For you, Varisia is all of these things but most importantly it is home. In Varisia, the only thing your destined to become is what you decide to be! This adventure puts you in the role of adventures in the region of Varisia. Fate has brought the group together, but you must decide where you go from here. The game contains many potential campaign arcs that players could become involved in or they could decide they'd rather do smaller jobs or work on character narratives of their own choosing. Whatever you want to do, the world of Varisia won't disappoint. Explore detailed and unique environments and take your character on the most heroic adventure you have thought possible. Varisia is located within the Golorian campaign setting from Paizo. It is a published setting but I have been producing my own open world content for the game for almost three years and I have always aimed to create an immersive place to tell the story of your character. There is already enough content to keep players and their characters occupied for years. I do not plan sessions ahead and railroad players, but rather I simply let the characters interact with the playground that I am actively creating. It's really all about creating a story for your character, so my goal is to let the players do that. I DO have several narratives that run throughout the world and the players can decide how and to what degree that interact with those narratives. Maybe they want to join a bad guy or maybe they decide to hunt him down, its completely up to the players. Schedule : Weekly, Friday at 8:00-12:00 PM EST (Schedule is Still Flexible) Game Length : 3-5 hours This campaign is expected to be long term. Price : Free Campaign Setting : Varisia (Golarion) Starting Level : 1 (25 point buy) Group Size : 4-6 players Communication : Discord will be used to voice. Rules : We are using any published Pathfinder 1E rules. Sign up : Please submit a character concept and we can discuss how to place the character within the world. I find that creating a character in conjunction with understanding how they fit into the world is important to getting the game off with a really great start and keeping players engaged long term. Once a concept has been approved, players can move onto the creation stage. Hello, I would be very interested in participating in your campaign. I don't know how detailed you want the character concept to be, and to be honest, I have quite a few in mind. The one I most want to play, however, is a Stormborn Sorcerer. As the only son of a rich businessman, he had a confortable childhood, and counted on his father's reputation to get him out of the numerous problems he got himself into. He spent most of his time in bars or taverns, using his good looks and silver tongue to get what he wants. Now that he became an adult, his father grows tired of seeing his son wasting his life away. He gave him an ultimatum: start working at the forge to take on the family business, or leave and only come back with a reputation of his own. Eager to prove his father wrong, he leaves for Varisia, where he wants to prove himself as a formidable adventurer. Anyways, tell me if that's acceptable :)

I'm 24, been playing Dnd for over a year. I have got a very rough background idea: Samsaran Sythesist, Chained or Unchained, doesn't matter because synergist overrides the basic Eidolon anyway. Willing to listen to whatever the DM decides, kinda have to to be a good player. (Name, maybe Mars) was my first incarnations name, now I wear it every life driven by my purpose to do good in the world, the task I was bestowed and now the only thing I remember clearly from life to life. I was, in my first life, raised in Samsaran civilization and was sent out to explore and fight the good fight. I am always reborn to human parents and live with them and appreciate them until they pass, always marking their names into my Life Wheel, the only thing I can consistently have from my past lives, to remember them by. I always have my eidolon with me from birth to help me in whatever endeavors I take up. I worship ... as my chosen deity being as the god of (...). This life I've been a (occupation...) while always offering a helping hand when I can. Now I am... doing something... I want to be a sythesist because I really like the concept, if I wanted big action economy and damage I wouldn't go this class for sure. I just like the character potential for someone so old with another "soul" tied to them as living armor.
I added the discord link so anyone interested can join the discussion on there.
I would be greatly interested in playing in your game I have been gaming since 1976 I have several ideas one is dex fighter that was raised as a slave and taught to fight either as a guard or in tourney's for the pleasure of her owner. For saving her owners life at nearly costing her own she was granted freedom. Now she is traveling hoping to find her family in verisia they only thing she has is a pendant of a silver rose. Another is a wizard spellslinger ratfolk that left his warren to seek adventure in the outside world and not to be locked in to the family business of thieving under Magnimar. I can play any class if needed i have multiple Ideas for characters.
Hi there. I’m a mature and experienced player looking for a Friday night group. Anytime after 6:30 pm works for me. I played AD&D and 2E from ‘83 to ‘92 and have been heavily playing 5E for 4 years now. I have never played Pathfinder before but would love to give it a go if that’s okay. We can further discuss a character concept that would fit your current party should you be interested in having me join your group. Thank you for your consideration.
This choice-focused campaign sounds like a great time! I'd gladly request the chance to participate! I'm of an average experience, and Fridays are open to me any time. I've played mostly Pathfinder 1e for about a year now, but I'm more familiar with 3.0e, however I'm anxious to learn and contribute. Feel free to message me, I don't mind making a character to fit a party if necessary. Cleric and Sorcerer are my go-to's but I'm familiar with most classes.
We are still accepting potential players. Join our discord to learn more!
