[Weekly Downtime Thread][Spring III 1525 HC]

Please post any of your downtime activities below. You can find the full rules for downtime here . You can find last week's downtime thread here. Always remember to be specific about what downtime action you are taking! If you're leveling up type that in your post labeled as OOC! If you're looking into an item be specific about where that item is from, what mission, when you got it, who from, etc. If you write "I read that book I found" the DM is likely to have no clue what you are talking about. If you are learning a language, or tool make sure to write down how many weeks you have been practicing! This lowers the DC, and gives advantage depending on the number of weeks. Also a reminder that players only get one main downtime action per week.
Sithric Grimhildsson Sithric will practice on his own for a little bit. Since he missed his second shot in his adventuring time, he has been spending a lot of time at the archery range, until he learned how to fire 2 arrows in quick succession. Even if his first should miss, he'd make the second one count. He will also wait in Innishiere to receive his commissioned Great Dragonbone Longbow. ( OOC: Leveling up to 5th level fighter. ) Eirena Lightshadow After returning to the Cohort, Eirena had invested herself in extensive research regarding Ice Maiden’s, trying to find more specific books about them in the library. The ever-burning branch gained during the last mission was a good bargaining token, however she still felt like something is mission. Perhaps a later breakthrough will hand her the last piece of information she is lacking. Just a few moments after returning to her boarding room, still clad in her usual attire, she heard knocking on her door. Since she was not expecting any visitors, she wondered who the surprise guest might be. The sight she was greeted with had her delighted and perplexed at the same time. A finely dressed Savas, a beautiful wreath of flowers, of which she could only recognize one and the flushed face of the man she held dearest. As she was about to finally open her mouth to ask what she’d owe the pleasure to, Savas spoke up. She listened to his speech intently. However, after the first sentence already her face became as flush as a rose in full bloom. Nothing could have prepared her for this. After Savas finished his speech, she was rendered speechless. At Savas’ opening up to her, at his proposal, the wreath, he had certainly spent a lot of time on and the meaning of all this. Eirena gingerly put the wreath she was offered on and sank down to her knees, staring into the light brown depths of his eyes. Tears of pure joy were running down her cheeks, as she embraced Savas tightly. A grand sense of elation filled her almost burning heart and with a beaming smile, she whispered in his ear: “It would be my utmost pleasure, my dearest Savas.” Shango Bayu After returning to the Cohort, Shango would spend some time meditating about his last mission. He had nearly gotten himself killed in the waters of Morrendeap, had he not been healed by the, admittedly very tasty brew of Gilgrani. So he seeks to work on something similiar himself. Combining some herbs he managed to snatch on the way to the land, he will work on crafting a healing potion. Robert Bossouri Another quiet week for the man. Robert would begin wondering about his future. He had gathered some strength in his time in the Cohort, but would he be influential enough already to overthrow the corrupt management of his former church? This is the question he would focus his attention to for now. He maybe has to make peace with the fact that that church might be irredeemable, and that he best start working towards something different; starting his own church, truest to the virtues of Neira, so he may set an example to others, to prevent such corruption from happening again. ( OOC: Just a quarter-life crisis, nothing special. )

He spends his time in the dock district, buying drinks for sailors and travelers (willing to spend up to 50gp on drinks and bribes), specifically those who are coming to or from Mieres. He tries to find out if any of them could corroborate these rumours or provide additional details. Salazar Major action: Intent on heading back to Morrendeep in the future, Salazar conducts research on Slaads, using any resources available to him. Are they subservient? Are they likely to be in league with the Beholder, or oppose it? Ways to cure/undo the impregnation process. If he has any time after that, he looks into the legend of Rasta Silversword, in particular looking for information about his wife. Minor action: Salazar continues to tutor Skag in the arcane arts. Sensing Skag's training is coming to an end, he challenges his pupil to demonstrate what he has learned so far. Salazar also reminds Skag that the best tricks are the subtle ones that go unnoticed.

Savas Al-Hadar Savas walked with almost military precision as he traversed the halls in the Cohort's living area. His dress, and demeanor, drew quite a few stares and whispers as he walked past other members. Despite this, he kept his head forward, a man on a mission, with no allowances for distractions. It wasn't long before he found himself standing before the door of Eirena Lightshadow, the Rjurik woman who had stolen his heart. This was probably folly, but regardless, it was something Savas felt he needed to do. Taking a moment to steel his resolve, Savas knocked firmly on her door. When she opened her door she was greeted by Savas dressed in, what surely was, his best clothes. A pale green turban with matching silk breeches tucked into highly polished leather riding boots complimented a high collared tunic of blue and gold damask. A gold sash was fitted about his waist holding a single curved dagger with a wide blade. In his hands was a wreath, made of two intertwining flowers. One, a bright blue flower native to Eirena's homeland, the other, beautiful and delicate flower of white and pink that she had never seen before. The stems were intertwined so that it was impossible to tell where one flower ended and another began. The only thing more red than the flower was the flushing of Savas' face as he fought to maintain eye contact with Eirena. There was a moment of silence, and then Savas began to talk in a low but steady voice. "It is the expectation of my people to follow the proper customs regarding matters of courtship..." Savas paused, but then continued. "It is expected that before anything else, the Dejilia is called. It is there that the two families meet to discuss the suitability of a match between a couple. The decision for any courtship or marriage is made by the families. But I have no family. It is a great dishonor among my people to be without family. I have no one to present at a Dejilia, I have nothing to offer." Savas pauses again, this time clearing his throat. "While I may not have a family to guide me, it also means that I must make my own way. I could never hope to find a Khinasi woman who would agree to court a man without a family... a man who was once nothing more than a slave. I was destined to know only the glory of Khirdai, and I had made peace with that. Until I met you." Savas slowly dropped to his knees and bowed his head slightly as he continued to talk. "I have never before, in all my travels, met anyone like you. I have taken on slavers, armed with nothing more than a stolen sword and the chains on my wrists. I have face Orogs who greatly outnumbered our forces and were raining boulders down upon our heads. I have taken on the Rat King, giant spiders, and the Hollow Man. Never have I ever lost my strength or resolve when facing these horrors. When I am with you, I feel both weaker and stronger than I have ever been. Every minute you are out of my sight feels like I cannot breathe. Every word that escapes your lips is like the warm sun of Binsada shining down upon my face. When in battle, your mere presence inspires me to fight harder than I ever have, and when we are together in camp, I have never had a wound so grievous that it could not be healed by the simple touch of your hand. I have always been a warrior, but I have never been a man until I met you." Savas slowly raises the wreath up to offer it to Eirena. "I am a simple soldier of no family, no wealth, no status, and no esteem. I have nothing to offer you except all that I am. It would bring me both great honor and pleasure if you would allow me the privilege of courting you." With the wreath extended, Savas finally looks up into Eirena's eyes and awaits her reply. Jannis the Red Jannis will pay 90 GP to a mentor to train him in the art of arms and armor making (proficiency: Smith's Tools).
Diesa Gemfire Location: The City of Zhigun, in the Dwerren Kingdom Daikhar-Zhigun - Modest Lifestyle. Major: Special Training . Diesa returns to her ancestral homeland to continue her training with some of the Kingdom's elite fighters. (2nd of 4 Downtimes) Galena Abanâthu Location: The Halls of the Cohort Arcanum on the Isle of Fabrica Major: Languange Learning. Galena isn't really sure what to do with herself after defeating the hag and getting the hang of the heavier bows so quickly as well as getting Vincent almost fluent in Karamhul, so she spends some time with Nim and Mamm and tries once again to get the hang of the Rjuven language. (Learning Rjuven language, 3rd Downtime spent (Jack of All Trades) ) Minor: Letters. Galena writes a letter for The Siren; To jerusha From galena Hello jerusha. How are you and how is things going over there? That worm business was pretty freaky. Told all the top nobs here about it but they dont seem all that moved so maybe its not all that bad. I hope so. I am well. Trying to get people for a mission to meet some more nice awnsheghlien people like you and make friends with them but they dont speak any common languages so its tough. Need a specific spell to translate and only a couple people can cast it. Anyway you remember all that weird shit what we pulled out of the hags tree house? Been getting it identified and sorted out over here. One of them was cursed. The spooky mirror. Doubt its the only one. The important thing as far as im concerned though was that mythriall dagger what had the moving pictures of you on it. Well its very magical and we got a name. Bit ominous. Harpys doom. Does that name ring any bells? Is harpy another name for siren like calling me a dwarf instead of dwerren? I know that there is a place near a country called binsada called the harpy island. Do you think I should go there and see if theres a connection to whatever the hags was doing? Aubrae Trevelyan Location: The Halls of the Cohort Arcanum on the Isle of Fabrica Major: Languange Learning. Aubrae grumbles about her lessons with the strict sidhe teacher Devlynn, having flashbacks to growing up at her uncle's estate and being sequestered away with tutors for their interminable lectures instead of being out in the yards or going riding. However the theatrical sounds of the Draconic language and its pretty runes manage to keep her focused better than most of her childhood lessons could. (Learning Draconic language, 2nd Downtime spent)
Vincent Location: The Halls of the Cohort Arcanum on the Isle of Fabrica Lifestyle: Modest (16sp) Major: Vincent returns to the Isle of Fabrica and works on a few blacksmithing projects. He attaches the spyglass he obtained from The City of Zhigun to his heavy crossbow (OCC taking the sharpshooter feat if he levels) and tries to make five all metal barbed bolts so that they can more easily be used to cast heat metal on after discussing this with Salazar. He continue practicing his Karamhul with Galena or other Dwerren members of the Cohort. (OOC If he has the 720 XP he needs Vincent will level up to fighter 4 taking the Sharpshooter ASI) Minor: If possible Vincent visits Presphine's shop to see if she is able to identify the mysterious red potion he obtained (in Session 76).

Dragomir The Black Drago will give Larmedylth time to grieve and kinda gets why she would want her space. He avoids Drachenward, the thought of going to the gravesite of Bellassar is still a little too much. After the mission, he travels to Binsada to contact the leader of the Red Sands, Elishiva and sees if she is willing to try and sell Eloéle's dice back to The Church of Eloéle for him. Or see if she has anything of value to him that he could trade for it so she can sell it back to the church. It still should have worth a religious artifact and to the right buyer could be priceless. He also has some coin to help with the trade if needed. Anything to speed up his sleeping would be perfect but willing to see what she has. When arriving back at the cohort, Checks in with Presphine to see if she has made anything with the ingredients he provided, she never got back to him. (From Downtime two weeks ago.) OOC: 10 Renown (Red Sands), If that helps. Orithar Tirsk Will be helping with the wolf den operation however feels really unconformable with the Dragon looking over his shoulder. Will try to make sure he and the dragon keep as much distance as possible. With the den being under control he will see if the pixie blood has any benefits. Possible use as a material component when using summoning spells like "summon lesser demons". As a Minor action will read "Indispensable Dissertation on Swimming" in the evening. Fenris Nathair Is getting a little concerned with Primefanie health and well being. Missions are too dangerous and Primefanie is not cut out for a life of adventuring. A fey frog shouldn't be kept in captivity and she might be happier with her own kind plus she might want to meet a nice frog to settle down and grow old. Fenris wants to research where the perfect home for Primefanie might be so one day, he can take her there or where her home might be. Hoping to hear of a location that might be perfect so we can go visit it together. OOC: Special find the fey frog a home/family mission.
Zolis Location: Den of the White Wolf, Wolfgaard Zolis gets his hands dirty leading the cleaning operation utilizing his lifetime of farming experience. He attempts to convince the hired workers and their supervisors that the manure made from the White Wolf’s excrement will create legendary fertilizer. It’s value to their crop yields will far outweigh the worth of mere coins and trinkets. As a minor action, he grows a solid mustache and coats its bristles with ointment to mask the smell. The mustache looks really cool so it’s likely that others imitate this practice. Theq Location: Halls of the Cohort Arcanum, Isle of Fabrica Theq will search the cohort library for texts written in Giant. He seeks to understand the origins of his people (Firbolg) and the history of other giant races.
Lindal Is staying in Daikhar Zhigun so he can continue to learn Karamhul from the local Dwerren Shlar Will be reading books on Necromancy in the Cohort Library to find the Spell ANIMATE DEAD. If he finds it he will add it to his spell book.

Nim Mammsdotter She keeps learning Midgardian from Darvius as well as teaching Berry how to cook and that a pinch of salt means a Nim sized pinch, not a Berry sized... Additionally you gain the benefits of the Marriage section of the ceremony spell for the next 2 session your characters adventure with each other. Shango Shango makes a sweet tasting healing potion, and spends the rest of his time meditating. Robert Robert thinks over starting a church, and how to go about it. Mostly he thinks to himself about what virtues are truest to Neira. Cedrych Cedrych improves his skills as a rogue with practice. Cedrych hears stories of men going out west, and never coming back. Most of these vagabonds don't know a single man who has survived. He does meet one by the name of Jason who knows of one person who has retrieved glainne. A woman by the name of Tiffany. Unfortunately the lords of Mieres are extremely corrupt, and came up with an excuse to jail her. Of course all of the glainne she brought back was 'confiscated.' She's apparently still rotting in a prison somewhere. Salazar Salazar can't find any information about the slaad in the library of The Cohort. Skag finally gets a handle of Salazar's lessons. Thugnuck Thugnuck practices protecting his allies, and improves his own abilities. Knuckles Knuckles reads about how some vampires and undead are weak to radiant energy, and real sunlight. Some spells are capable of producing this effect, but they tend to be of much higher level. There are some priest who can turn undead, but the power of this ritual is limited by their own capabilities. Vyurakas Unfortunately Vyurakas doesn't find much information that isn't already well known to The Cohort. OOC: https://www.cerilia.world/wiki/index.php?title=Dragons Medi Medi slowly transforms into an alseid over the course of 2 weeks or so. Alseid Template +2 Dexterity, +1 Wisdom Your base movement speed is now 40 ft. You are still medium sized, but are quadrupedal. This means you count as a large creature for the purpose of carrying capacity. Hoofed Feet . You now have hoofed feet. You may gain disadvantage on certain checks such as stealth checks while walking on hard materials. You may also have difficulty performing certain activities like climbing ladders. In other scenarios you may not find yourself impeded as much by certain terrain such as snow. All benefits and drawbacks are left to the DM's discretion. Woodfriend. When in a forest, alseid leave no tracks and automatically discern true north. Sylvan: You learn the Sylvan language of the Alseids if you did not already know it. Be aware your new form may bring reverence from some, and disdain from others. Cordie Cordie reads her book when she isn't helping with cleaning out the den of The Wolf. The book tells of a creature known as The Nightwalker that lives in the Mistmoor. Supposedly it's an embodiment of death itself, and there are blood whisperer cultists who seek to have it unleashed onto the world. Saorise Saorise learns Draconic from Aisha. Somehow comprehending her incomprehensible speech. Hedrin Hedrin learns Sylvan from a sidhelien woman known as Arealendael. At first she seems extremely stuck up and pompous, but once Hedrin gets to know her it turns out that she's just extremely socially awkward. She's actually a sweetheart once he's gets to know her. Korak Korak fixes the armour, and makes the mythrial wrist mirror for Darvius. The King tells Korak that they are winning the war, and he does not know what this final stand business is. Tal, Thrum OOC: It seems like you're referencing events that happened in a session in Spring IV. This is the downtime for Spring III. Prudence Prudence doesn't find any new magic items, but she does spend some time reading her book. Surprisingly the guide to stews is extremely helpful, and insightful. However the book goes into details about certain cooking techniques that go far over the woman's head. OOC: You will need training in cooking before you can gain the expertise from this book. Portia Portia needs spends 50gp buying ingredients, and another 2gp on a proper barrel to ferment them in. She makes the same spirits as she did last time. Berry Berry learns how to cook from Nim, and spends the rest of his time counseling Cohort members. He discovers many members are still suffering from significant trauma from the incident with Solaria. Many cannot sleep at night, and wake up in a cold sweat at the nightmares. Providing a warm shoulder does seem to help them move on, if only a little bit. Ant Ant reads this books which details many tidbits on the sea, and 'understanding her majesty.' The insight is quite helpful, and teaches allot that he didn't know. Outside of that he continues to help with the fecal matter. OOC: Ant's proficiency in water vehicles increases to expertise. This book wouldn't be much help to someone who doesn't know the basics, but could be passed onto other sailors wanting to learn. Mamm Mamm trains hard, and her movements become more refined and graceful. Between that, and Galena finally getting a good handle of Rjuven it's a good month or so. Skag Skag finishes his studies under Salazar, and finally gets a handle for the arcane. Brognir Brognir gets used to his new leg, and continues to to work on his book. OOC: I think you have one week left on the book? Valravan Valravan discovers that she used to rule the frozen northlands in harmony with the sidhelien, but this was long ago. Long before humans came Cerilia. She used to have a reputation with the elves a guardian against the humans, but after she was slain she fell out of favor with them as well. Since then both humans, and sidhelien have painted her as an evil beast. With that said she's known to be especially protective of her hoard, even by the standards of dragons. She used to have the largest hoard in all of Cerilia according to the ancient books. Some said she used to have a palace made of gold and ice. Even if that's true, it's likely long since been pillaged, and destroyed by the humans. Tristan Tristan develops his magics, but Pinna declines his gifts. She tells him she no longer has a need for an assistant. Savas Savas makes his heartfelt proposal to Eirena, and she accepts his proposal. OOC: Very nice RP, go ahead, and add inspiration to your character sheet. Additionally you gain the benefits of the Marriage section of the ceremony spell for the next 2 session your characters adventure with each other. Jannis Jannis begins practicing with a smith. He learns much of the basics, but will need some more time to master the craft whilst on his own. Diesa Diesa continues her difficult training in her homeland. Galena Galena finally learns Rjuven from Nim and Mamm. She gets a response from The Siren that simply reads: "I am afraid that I have no clue what this item is. I've never heard of it, but it does sound ominous. Just be careful, and try to avoid being cursed. Hag's are known for items of cruel natures." Aubrae Aubrae finishes learning Draconic from Devlynn. Vincent Presphine can't identify the potion. Vincent does improve his abilities, and crafts a few metal bolts to take with him. He fastens the spyglass to his crossbow. Dragomir Drago trades in his dice in exchange for 50gp. The Red Sands fleece it at a discount for him, but it's not worth that much without its magical properties. Presphine tells Drago she's still experimenting with things, but will need awhile longer. She tells him to check in with her around the Night of Fire. Orithar Orithar helps with the den, but doing research on the pixie's blood will take more time to research. The book is an excellent guide to swimming, and athleticism. Orithar gains permanent expertise on athletics (strength) checks made to swim. Fenris The Fey Wilds are probably the best place from Fenris' research. Though he perhaps already knew that. A proper sidhelien forest would be the second choice. Zolis Unfortunately Zolis' charade with mustaches doesn't catch on. The talk of legendary fertilizer catches some vague interests.
