Hi, I just upgraded my account so I could use my iPad for our dnd games, but when I launch the game it’s just stuck on a black loading screen and then opens up a browser page for the forums and another one called js.stripe.com can someone help me please.

The iPad app stopped working a long time ago. Roll20 made an announcement that it was going to take a rebuild of the app, which may be some time.  I’ve not seen any update as yet. Incidentally, Roll20, perhaps time to stop advertising (including images) that Roll20 is iPad compatible.  At least until it is rebuilt.

Hi there, are you also using Chrome or Firefox on your iPad? Safari is not supported at this time, so that may help alleviate some of the issues.

I think they’re referring to the Roll20 app that is available on the AppStore. Not using the website directly. I had used the app for some time, then I think about six months ago or so it stopped working properly (shows old games that I removed ages ago, when I attempt to enter a game it opens Safari and sends me to a dead link, that kind of stuff). Hope that helps! Guys, if I’m wrong please correct me.

Thanks everyone, yeah roll20 please could you advertise that the app is being rebuilt, also thanks for the tip with safari, it would work on my phone with safari but not my iPad which was weird, so just downloaded chrome :)

Yeah, the iPad app is broken. Looking on the forums it has been completely broken for about 3 years? They need to just remove it from the store until the damn thing is fixed. Not that the forums are even that searchable, I gave up trying to find the current forum post on it by using search because every result was closed and locked.  So I just scrolled down the bug reports instead....

App was last updated 1 year ago, so it probably hasn't worked in all that time. I wanted to use it for a character sheet IRL, but no dice...

To be honest, the issue is not so much that it’s stopped working, or that no fix has been forthcoming (as frustrating as that it is).  The fact that they still advertise the iPad as working after all this time is a tad shameful.  It certainly leads to a loss of credibility.
