so i have a player who has been with me from the start who had recently lost his character in my campaign.(im running my first campaign and so far its hit a few bumps but overall the players love it.) he wants to bring a freind in so he and his freind can be a pair of bull brothers as he calls it for the two selecting the same race.i just needed some feedback as to how to play this out because im slightly stumped. the ultimate goal is to slowly tie all the characters into the bbeg having some way of tormenting their past. however, the two bull bros want to be gladiator fighters for the bbeg's entertainment. i usually do a session zero with players to immerse them into the world and actually live out the background they chose to write out for me.they want to be closer to the bbeg, which kinda has me stumped. any advice on how to make this work while still having the bbeg still drawn to the shadows while starting them out?try as i might im struggling to come up with ideas on the matter, and i want to do my veteran player right.
