Hello All, I am seeking active and collaborative players for my attempt to DM a text based campaign. A little background on myself, I have a little over 6 years of active D&D experience as well as a plethora of writing experience in different mediums. Right now I am looking to teach myself to become a better Dungeon Master, in hopes of being able to host games for my child in a few years or even some friends. For more information about my game check out the LFG post here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/194292/midnight-the-awakening-5e If you are interested in signing up or learning more, feel free to reply here, pm me or post a question on the LFG thread. Thank you all for your time! General Information: Looking for players with all experiences. This will be a text based RPG game, focused on story telling, combat and having a good time. My favorite campaign setting is Midnight, if you haven't read it before or know of it please check out their main website first before diving in further. https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/midnight-second-edition/ With that being said, i'm not a micromanager, I'm interested in telling a story. If you'd like to know more, keep reading, checking out the links i've provided and feel free to ask questions. You have to be odd to be number one. Class limitations are based on the setting, please review the document here: Midnight Conversion Other books or resources: I am open to options -- however my background is with the 3.5 Midnight Campaign setting and the conversion document, please be mindful i’m trying to stick to this setting and would prefer not introducing something out of place. Starting Gear: Any gear listed in your Background & Class. Plus 100 gp worth of equipment or valuables. No Magic items. Story Hook: Feel free to embellish your character’s background and help the starting village grow. This is a homebrewed area so i’m open to ideas, however your character has accepted a ‘job’ to become one of the final hunting parties as described in the introduction below. Please use your background to tie into that. Introduction: A local village has summoned a hunting party, with the reward being whispered to be the highest sum of coin given for a bounty in years. This gathering is both encouraging and problematic as it will cause quite the competition and for the target, well, it makes it even riskier as everyone participating will only have 3 night falls to slay the beast in question. For the past 36 years in 3 year cycles, a ‘beast’ has appeared outside the village known as Avida on the far east side of Eastern Hills, told to have slain 18 villagers in total, including 4 young men three years ago. That event was told to be the one to stir this gathering as the local Mayor had finally seen enough and pooled together the town’s valuables to start this attempt at quelching the village’s threat. The village itself has grown a name for itself, since it was conceived 75 years ago by the current Ruler’s family. No longer is it lords, but Mayors and councils, but since fear has crept into the heart of the families peace has been harder and harder to maintain along the crossing and outer roads. Races, hunting parties of all types are gathering for this event. What type of character? What type of resolve will it take to come away with the grand prize and having the feat blazoned into lore?
