[LFP] Sandbox Sea-Faring Campaign

I'm fairly new to Dm'ing but I want to try something serious or semi-serious. All players welcome. I'm looking to host a game on Friday sometime in the afternoon For maybe 4-5 players like 4-5pm est. (Idk how long the games will be yet sadly) I'll accept homebrew and UA but if it's overpowered compared to the rest of the party then it needs to be toned down or if it seems out of place to the world then i'll deny it. (I might add flintlock guns and cannons depending on what the players want). Also things like called shots and flanking. I would like feedback on worldbuilding and dm'ing after the session since I want to improve. A little background: The world of Falris was flooded by a cult long ago, leaving only islands as habitable land for the survivors of the flood that happened hundreds of years ago. You'll start in the trade city of Atmer made from mostly stone and magic to keep it together. It was built on a plateau that didn't reach the surface but was high enough to make stone "stilts" and build off of those. It's more diverse in races due to it being in the middle of some trade routes. (Sorry if i'm bad at describing this) If you apply I want a few questions to be answered. What do you want out of this game? Do you need help making character sheet? How do you usually play this game? (more combat or more rp or a mix of both) Any homebrew you want me to look at?
What system are you using?
dnd 5e
I think I'd be interested in joining, seafaring d&d sounds like fun. For the first question, I would probably say just another group in general, I've been playing 5e since September but for the most part, I've only been in one group. For the second question. Nope, I have a few ideas already. For the third question, usually a mix of combat and roleplaying. For the fourth question, nothing that I can think of right off the bat, but there are a few pdfs I got from the DM from my other group, mainly the book of dragons.
id be interested love thing to do with the ocean What do you want out of this game? rp love rp and pc building and a chance to play something a bit insain Do you need help making character sheet? nope been playing 5e for 4years How do you usually play this game? (more combat or more rp or a mix of both) Any homebrew you want me to look at yes but will need to get back to you when i narrow it down
I'd be down to throw down at sea, I'd love to see what you came up with. The only thing I really want out of the game is fun. I enjoy having a good time with my fellow players and DM. Be that through dramatic roleplay moments, relaxing downtime, high stakes battles. I love seeing all of our efforts come to fruition. Whether it be from the DM's planning, to the player character's backstories coming into effect. I don't really need help with the character sheet, I'm familiar with them. This game has other players in it, so I try to keep those in mind as much possible. I'm pretty pro-active, I enjoy doing things. I'll probably engage with whatever you do or don't throw at us. I like RP the most, but I love combat too. I'd say a 70/30 split is preferable. There might be a subclass I might be interested in playing, but that depends on what type of character we come up with. That said, don't think I'll expect the world from you. I know you're new as a DM, and I know it might be a bit bumpy at first, but I'm confident you'll do good as a DM.

I'll give them a read if you send them to me. Also does everyone have discord? I'd prefer if I did the vc there rather than on roll20. https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/5985120/flooded-world-of-falris heres the game does starting at lv 3 sound good?
