Two years ago the gods left the world. Nobody remembers why, but shortly afterwards the disasters started. Six great titans emerged from their slumber and wreaked havoc on the Empire of Neraka. These beasts were many times the size of a building, immune to magic, and spread disaster and monsters wherever they roam. You are a group of exiles in the valley of Whitesparrow trying to keep it from falling like the rest of the empire. It's in a farflung vale that has escaped the notice of the titans this far. Hello! This is a new D&D fifth edition campaign I'm starting. It'll be a sandbox hexcrawl that mirrors the editions of old (not 4e, nobody talks about that one...) where you'll strap on your backpacks and bring an end to the evil plaguing the world, or die trying! Um...the level starts at 3. We'll be using the normal experience point method. Races, Backgrounds and Classes/Archetypes are allowed as long as they are from the PHB, Volos, Xanathar's Guide to Everything, or Eberron: Rising from the Last War. I'm an experienced roll20 DM that has DMed all editions for years. I'm looking for 4-6 (hardcap 7) players above the age of 18 (this campaign will have mature themes, we'll talk about it in the session 0) who can make the schedule. This will be a player driven campaign, so come with goals and ideas in mind! Six Things You Should Know About The World: 1.) There are five moons. These moons supply most of the magic across the land and create leylines that wizards, sorcerers, and artificers draw upon for power. They also make lycanthropy a very dangerous thing (*steeples fingers* Yes you will be able to contract it, no it's probably not something you'll enjoy). Sea travel is also a lot more dangerous than in the real world. 2.) The land is hollow. The inner world and the outer world are disconnected by a series of tunnels that make travelling between the two a truly dangerous goal.
.) Divine magic somehow still works. Drawn from hidden temples throughout the land that thrum with power. The titans seem to feed on these and their number is quickly diminishing.
.) Machines of the old war against the titans are riddled throughout the tunnels that make up the underworld.
.) The lands around Whitesparrow, the town you’ve taken refuge in, have grown wilder. The mayor has asked you to earn your keep by helping to pacify some of them.
.) Sorcery is much more common than Wizardry. If you are a Wizard or someone who prepares spells from a book, you are probably one of fifty such individuals in the world. And that number is going down.
