Fog of War: Diagonals and Curves

The fog of war feature is difficult to implement when you need to hide or reveal anything diagonal or curved. Perhaps the same options which currently exist for drawing shapes could be made available for the fog of war?
Maybe a paint-like system? Where we can just choose a brush size and erase the fog of war where we want it? I think that would solve this problem pretty well.

This is essential in my view and has been raised before. FoW as it currently stands is clunky for anything other than square rooms and straight corridors. I think to make it amazing we need FoW erase as follows: - square / rectangle - polygon - circle / ellipse - freehand. Cheers, Mr G.
I would add hex shapes to that as a hex grid is an option. How about an option to have the fog of war be aligned to the grid so that when I "paint" it or "erase" is (as Kirby suggested above), it appears or disappears on a square-by-square or hex-by-hex basis?
I would love to see the paint and erase method for this, it would feel far more natural for DM's.
I'm at a loss for I only found out about this beta a week ago and haven't much time to delve into the program. After reading comments here I get the impression that FoW is a hide/reveal feature for the GM. Meaning it is stationary until modified and cannot be manipulated by the players via visibility traits/skills or spells. Is this correct?
Players themselves can not affect the FoW. As a player you are given limited controls (arrow to click, magnify glass, and a rule,) while the DM has quite a bit of controls to manipulate what is going on.
If I can suggest one possible other solution, is to have the FoW be removed by grid overlay. Like you can toggle each cell.
If I can suggest one possible other solution, is to have the FoW be removed by grid overlay. Like you can toggle each cell. I like this. The GM could prepare a set of "reveals" prior to play and implement them as needed. However, the tools to create such an overlay would need most of the features suggested in the earlier posts for this thread.
