[LFP] [GURPS] [GMT+1 - Friday Evening] Snowstorm - Or How I Stopped Worrying And Learnt To Love Frostbite

The world as we know it is gone and has been consumed by frost. Much knowledge of the past world, what exactly happened to ruin it, and much of its exotic technology has been lost. In the new world, life is a harsh struggle against elements and the fellow man. You are a citizen of the Horizon's Edge Outpost, a relatively small settlement belonging to the Joined City States, a collective of settlements under rule by the Grand Dictator. Yet rumor has it to the west, in the uncharted territories past the last remaining communication antennas and marks of civilization there lay unplundered riches and scavenge to be had. But more importantly, the Nomadic Tribals of the region have brought myth and tale of a cursed building from the far past. If whatever treasure lay inside is as great as their myths make it sound, one could surely earn the Great Dictator's favour, and glory for the settlement. Thus you have either volunteered or been selected as a member of the exploration team, to brave the great unknown and bring the torch of knowledge to this forgotten place. This will be a relatively low-powered and realistic GURPS game focused on travel and exploration, survival, and overcoming whatever the cold world can throw against you. Starting points are at 100, and so far the books in use include Core Rules, the Combat section of Martial Arts, and High-Tech for equipment. The games tech-level will be a mixture of 6 and 7, with sprinkles of higher appearing as rare items from a bygone age. If you're interested in applying, post something about yourself and why you are fit to join the exploration team on their journey into the great unknown.
Ooh, this sounds right up my alley! I've run a couple of GURPS games, so I'm familiar with the rules. Do you have any players already? How long of a campaign do you plan on this being?

Hey I would love to join, I played GURPS a few years ago and having been looking to rules refresh. I'm pretty flexible on timing over the next couple of months bc of coronavirus quarantine. Here's my player idea: Alexi Jones (archaeologist/explorer) She is fascinated by the past world. Originally from a larger Joined  City State, where she studied  archaeology, ancient languages, etc. and went on sometimes dangerous field missions to investigate the past. But when she began questioning the official story told by the Great Dictator about the frost/past times/etc. she quickly earned the disfavor of politicians in the Joined  City State. To kill or otherwise publicly punish her would draw too much attention to her claims, so they conspired to inconspicuously exile her to  Horizon's Edge, where her audience would be limited. At Horizon's edge, she has continued disregard authority. Constantly researching or training, she is often late to work shifts / communal events. So when the opportunity for an away mission arose, the local authority made it clear that it would be in her best interest to get out of dodge and not come back empty handed. And she was more than happy to dive once more into the past!
This is so perfect aside from the Friday night thing. If you ever think of running GURPS any other evenings, please hit me up!
To answer some questions: So far we have two accepted players out of a maximum of five, and I'm planning for this campaign to last a couple months. Could go on longer or shorter, but there is a clear definitive goal to be accomplished.
Are you starting this Friday?  Hait Jorgensen is a mountain of a man: both in terms of physique and lack of intellect. Though he's not clever, he is one of the Outpost's mightiest soldiers. Longing only to fight for his home and the glory of the Grand Dictator, Hait volunteered to escort the scholars and scavengers through the harsh wilderness.
