Hello I am looking for people who might be interested in starting up a campaign. I am more the willing to DM. I have been doing so fairly consistently for over a decade now. I am a story heavy GM who tries to develop a world full of interesting NPCs and Factions for the PCs to interact with and bounce off of and ultimately be the ones who will decide the fate of the world. I prefer role-playing to combat and am mostly interested in players that are also interested in story over killing everything in sight for XP and loot. Unless have a core concept in mind I tend to enjoy coming up with the world with the players and love to let the players decisions determine the plot as that also lets me feels a since of excitement and adventure. (I have had dungeon crawl games turn into odd Goblin village simulator mid session because of party decisions and it was a blast) I have run games in 3.5, Pathfinder, Original Dresden Files (Fate System), Monsterhearts, Mistborn Adventure Game, Chronicles of Darkness, Unknown Armies 3rd ed, and other systems. I am in the EST time zone. I am looking for players that are interested in playing in a game, I haven't yet settled on what System because I am open to running several things. Unknown Armies. 3rd Edition - Urban fantasy except everything is human, or was human. It can get dark and edgy/gritty as magic usually deals with obsession and/or either capitulating to how the world works and acting your part to perfection or giving it a big middle finger and trying to break it in two at a weak point, but I am not looking to only be Grim Dark and believe that while difficult at times it's perfectly possible to be part of the crazy magikal underground and still a good person, so unless you the players start taking it to that level (like If you guys get your first taste of real magikal power and decide it's time to start pushing normies around and killing those who get in your way) well I will just let you know that the game's motto (one I personally fully endorse) is " You Chose This ". Players do not need to know the system or the lore of the world (In fact coming in blind is probably preferable). I have a concept for a game where everyone is a group of Ghost Hunters (like in the TV show of the same name) looking for paranormal things and trying to get them caught on camera. I am open to running some other group concept in the System if the players end up liking something better (last time I ran it the PCs decided to instead be a rock band... but I will be hesitant to something like that again) Monsterhearts - Urban Fantasy except everyone is already the most terrible, self centered, pretentious, impulsive, reckless hormone driven type of monsters ever conceived of in any fictional setting... Teenagers. Everyone plays a supernatural monster (a skin) that is living their normal life dealing with both mundane and supernatural issues. The Game plays a lot like a Tv show in my opinion (Think something like Being Human, or Buffy/Angel, or Rosewell/Starcrossed, or possibly Smallville/Arrow/Flash) and is one of my favorite to run. The game thrives on Melodrama and one of the main tenets is that happiness comes at some one else expense unless the players manage to get some Grown up moves usually problems just get delayed or transition into something else. I love the game, I love running it but I will admit this will likely be the one that I will be the most picky about the group. The game is very interpersonal and even thrives on inter-player conflict and relationships. If I don't think I have a good group for that I will likely ask we do something else. Chronicles of Darkness - Urban fantasy except non standard White Wolf/Onyx Path Lore. If you aren't familiar with Chronicles of Darkness I don't know if I should envy or pity you but it won't be too much of an issue. It's the descendant of World of Darkness (Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Mage: The Accession) and it's pretty much set the standard for Urban fantasy. I am thinking I would lean toward Vampire, Hunters (Core Chronicle) or Changelings. I story line for a chronicles but this would be the one I would have the most discussion on. It is also a game I am the newest on running, but having run a few games I have developed a fondness for the system. Mistborn Adventure Game - Medieval Fantasy except it's set in a world from a series of novels where everything is covered in perpetually falling ash (because if it wasn't there the sun would bake you alive) and seen over by a man who is basically living god calling himself the Final Emperor. I have a feeling this one will be the one with the least interest. (It's possible this could also be re-skinned to Codex Alera, another world from a novel series that is less crappy and oppressive and brimming with spoiler worthy secrets and more standard). Dungeons and Dragons 5e (Dragon Heist) - Medieval Fantasy except it's Dragon Heist. Yeah that is probably the least shocking twist but it is an option. I played Dragon Heist a while back and enjoyed it. I was set to start running a game of it in person using Roll20 map stuff but the self quarantining has put some roadblocks on that. Still I have it and I would want to run it. So It's an option even if it is at the bottom of the list because I am leaning toward other things more. If you are still reading this, I thank you for your time and if you are interested in any of those possible games I would love to hear from you. It would be something I would love to discuss. I may even be crazy enough to run two more games instead of just one. Have a good day and stay safe!
