Is this just new user influx?

For over a week, every time I click into an input field (like to assign a character sheet to one of my players) on roll20.  It lags and I have to wait as much as 60 seconds while the window sits frozen before I can type.  Is it just lag from massive influx of users? I also can't drag and drop spells on to one of my players sheets, nor onto a new sheet (created as a test for this).  Yet I can drag that same spell on to another player's sheet.

Although internet traffic is probably at an unprecedented high, this sounds like a familiar bug. If you are using Firefox, try turning off autofill and autocomplete. That combination can be deadly on Roll20 character sheet input.

I'm using chrome.  It seems to work fine everywhere except for roll20.  Should I go with Firefox?  which is better for roll20?

I use Chrome for everything but Roll20. Since Quantum, Firefox just feels zippier. That being said, most of my forum browsing is on a Chromebook, so I get a lot of experience in both. Another possibility for lag like you are describing is using Advanced Fog of War while Global Illumination is turned on. That is a performance nuker.

I believe the lag creator is the advance fog of war and dynamic lighting combo.

First thought? Make sure that no sheets are popped out into their own window. Drag and drop doesn't work on popped out windows. Other possibilities: For NPC sheets, make sure the NPC has its "spellcaster" option clicked.

Yep, was that... all better now.  Any idea why I can drag and drop spells on some sheets and not others?

I bet that's it... I had new sheets set to npc and these were both created as npc blanks and then switched to pc.

So I knew that you’re you couldn’t drag and drop to popped out windows.  I didn’t realize  that you couldn’t drag and drop if you had ANY windows popped out.  That seems to have been the problem.
