Another kind of game?

Heres an idea about D&D for those who play @Everyone tossing out a bone seeing if anyone wants to gnaw on it a bit So I have this idea of using "Voice Actors" To make an audio adventure that will be uploaded to Youtube If I am able to will also make some sort of "Movie" to go along with it, if not will be audio only. Anyway, I'm not expecting any of you to be "Hollywood Actors with voice coaches and time and money to do nothing but perfect an accent, so please dont read this and think "Oh you dont want my voice" Shudder I am looking for anyone willing to do this in a small part or a big part. You want to only be an Innkeeper? We can do a Shtick where every Innkeeper sounds the same because it is the same voice You want to be a Big Hero? We can do that also, as long as you agree to a clause in your contract saying we do a "Prequel" of your childhood before you became an Adventurer It will be set in Greyhawk system does not matter as it will be basically scripted This wont even be a thing until later this year send me a message if you have any other questions or maybe interested in this
I've done a podcast so sure heck I don't mind doing a voice. Innkeeper probably would work for me lol.
I will be copy pasting this to everyone If anyone has a better idea, please let me know I want everyone that’s in on this project to install a free program called Audacity and then, if your using a Windows computer, once you have made a recording of your voice, it will want to install a second program, I forget the name, but, it is also safe, you wont get any spam from them in order to make it an Mp3 file. If you are using a Mac or Linux that’s fine, I believe you can get Audacity also. I will set up a folder on my Microsoft Onedrive site and give you all access to it so that you can upload files for me. I will need everyone’s email address to do this. I will set up a Discord channel so that everyone can chat and work out possible ideas for adding in some drama and or comedy. I don’t want to record off Discord as for me, everyone drops words, including myself. I would like everyone to tell me if they want a big role or a small role Thanks for your interest
I myself already have audacity installed! Not sure of what the second program is myself. I must suggest recording in Lossless FLAC file format for better quality of sound! I seem to have some glitch with my system where the sound gradually degrades over time that i have to keep jacking up the volume on both my Logitech THX speakers and the computer's volume. [This caused me to hurt my ears again when i went from listening to some model play a quick riff on an acoustic which was coming in really low, then i went to you tube to listen to a tune that the step-nephew posted, and when the tune suddenly went to doing that retarded bass dropping which hurts your ears, it got really loud, but stupid me let the song play for 2.5 minutes before i realized i still had the sound jacked way up]. So thus, i reset the computer, and the sound was back to normal, however, after reinstalling everything, the sound is degrading again.
Hm dont have that prob with mine, but then for me planning on doing my recording and mixing in an older version of Adobe Audition, but have a converter to change file formats so should not be a problem for me
There is this: https://www.bandlab.com/products/desktop/assistant
hmm Audacity is the program the guy doing the editing for the podcast used and if i recall he had a lot of issues with sound on it initially he had to record on a different computer than he was using his headset on which was weird we had to have 4 of us in hangouts or discord do the recording through there while it was recorded by the fake 4th person i.e. the other computer.
When I recorded, the "Friendly Giant" TV show theme, known as the late 16th century, "Early One Morning", tune with vocals, for the 5E game, off youtube, the sound came in so low through audacity, i had to amplify it up in Audacity. But, that could be a thing with my computer, not Audacity. Another way to have done that Ed, is to use Twitch and OBS studio.
Well if you have problems with Audacity we can try to find something else I just picked it because its free 1 guy in it said that he will use an app on his phone guess thats another possible way to do it
For me I don't think the problem is Audacity. Buddy has a studio and has pro tools to work with, I believe.
So Ricky Any idea what Race and Class you want to play? I would prefer if you went with the Core Races and Classes not something "Exotic" or in another book besides the PHB
I guess a wizard (Magic-User), maybe Wood elf or human, I'll name it Vrezor Zakius, or Zakius Vrezor, thanks to a wizard name generator.
I'm still thinking about this. I might still record or however this is going to work. Just unsure how I would do that, free would work but I am very new to the whole audio editing part of things.
Well there are ways to do it, if you have a headset with a mic thats one way just about every laptop has a mic thats another way usb microphones are not very expensive or dont have to be another way that costs is buying a digital voice recorder you can find them on amazon for around $20 to $30 plug it into your computer transfer it upload it
A couple other free ways that may work are recording over Discord or we could try Zoom
I'll record with the best of what I have, in this case the Logitech Brio 4k webcam mic, using audacity, directly to lossless FLAC format.

Alright Ricky If you want to, you can pick any official Race, no 3rd party off the web stuff has to be from WOTC Also What version of D&D are you most familiar with? I also need you to pick a God https://greyhawkonline.com/greyhawkwiki/index.php?title=Category:Deities_by_portfolio
Change of plans You gave me all I need Name Race and Class, if you are thinking 2nd edition Kit Please copy paste the Kit info otherwise just tell me the version of D&D your thinking of with this character Innkeeper Let me know what would work best for you
I'm most familiar with B/X, 1st, 2nd, a wee bit of 3rd (ran three 3E modules that kicked-off the dealings with the yuan-ti; DD1-DD3), and now some of 5th Edition. I Have not looked at Chainmail (have PDF from DTR), Original D&D and 4E yet. Glanced at B/X/C/M/I from the Rules Cyclopedia, mainly getting monster info. So looking at the 1E PHB, i see they didn't sub-divide the races until Unearthed Arcana, of which the wood elf appears. Zakius Vrezor's deity is Corellon Larethian.
