Totally New Here. How do I get the stuff in the DM layer to move with the map?

Okay, this is probably a totally stupid question. I have searched the web before coming here, but I can't figure out what should be a relatively easy function. I have a large map. I labeled the various areas in the GM layer and added my BBEGs.  I wanted to move the map afterwards, when I did this all of my objects in the GM Layer stayed in the same place as opposed to moving along with the map. How do I link the locations of DM layer to the position of the map layer? Thanks!

I don't think there's a way to lock items between layers like that...  What I've done in similar situations is to select the various elements on the gm layer(works similarly on other layer's as well) or (CTRL+a to select all), then right-click and group items so I can move them all together as one unit to help "re-align" to the map layer, then I ungroup when done.
Got you, that makes sense. So I go to the GM layer, cntr-a, right click and group together. Then I right click again and move to map layer and group again. Then do this again in reverse. Yes? One thing I'm learning is that the order of operations matters is pretty critical when setting things up. It has actually been among the more challenging, sometimes frustrating, parts of learning how to operate in this environment. Thank you for the quick reply.

I don't think you need to move layers since you should be able to see the map layer as a reference.  Less chance of it getting muddled with things on your map layer as well. Suggestion, you can duplicate your games and experiment as well.  Learn through mistakes.  lol ;-)
